I'm truly surprised at the low ratings. A lot of them seem to be from 2018 and 2019. My Green Lunch is a great company and the food choices are wonderful! Thank goodness for compostable containers that the lunches are packed in. It's hard to run a small business and MGL is doing a fantastic job. The food is definitely delicious!!!!!! Recommended. :D read more

My son has been ordering from My Green Lunch and he loves the food. We like the menu options (teriyaki chicken, veggie nuggets, sun butter and jelly sandwich, French toast) and they come in non-plastic containers. There are often small and large portion options. read more

As a student who eats My Green Lunch at school, I can tell you that my green lunch is NOT the best catering service. One of my friends got a bag of chips (which was overpriced at $2.00) that was one month expired! I also have gotten some fruits that had hair in them! read more

Dear My Green Lunch Team, Originally, I was incredibly excited that my daughter's school was changing meal services. Naturally, I was hoping for the healthy and delectable meal your team advertised. However, as these past few years have gone by, I have noticed an increase in concern for our children's meals throughout our whole parental community after a series of incidences. Your lunch has become a joke in my daughter's school, and no wonder, after the stories I have heard. My daughter came back from school today with an unopened lunch and pointed to a dead spider found inside her lunch. I was immediately concerned with your cleanliness policies. I have heard numerous complaints from parents all over the school about finding hair or other unsanitary things in your packaged food. However, the cleanliness and sanitation is not my only complaint. I understand that expenses are in place because delivery fees and production are not cheap, even if you provide little food. However, the state of the food is completely repulsive. Most things come stale, and in some cases, even partly raw. Please re-address the issues mentioned in your catering. Respectfully, The Parent Committee. read more

This is an update to my previous review. I really appreciate owner reaching out to me and trying to address my complaint. It is the spirit of continuous improvement that brings more and more customer. I would give my green lunch another try when opportunity comes. read more

This place is horrible. The school lunch is like $6 for a small and $8 for a large which is absurd. The portions are tiny and the food sucks so much. The pizza was burnt and is the size of a donut but less tall, pasta stuck to itself so it was like a clump, mac & cheese had wayyyy to much cheese, there's like more plastic than actual food, ramen noodles were way to soft, broth wasn't fresh & broth tasted horrible, nuggets and tater tots were so soggy, french toast thing with eggs was so bad, 1/2 of the fruit cups and apple sauces are moldy and overdue, etc. I'm so glad I don't need to eat this because my mom cooks for me know. Only decent thing to eat is salad, burgers and hotdogs but there are overpriced and small for what they give you. Just, for the love of god, please don't eat anything here. read more

Tasty meals delivered straight to school which also helps raise money for the PTA. How much easier does it get? The meals are delicious, and there are a lot of options to choose from every day. It is so convenient to be able to order a whole month's worth of lunches at a time. Todd is especially helpful and does a great job finding new dishes kids love that are also nutritious. My Green Lunch has been a great addition to our school's hot lunch program. read more

My Green Lunch is delivering to our summer camps at School of Rock San Jose and we love it! So convenient and very affordable, especially for such healthy, tasty food. The kids are digging the choices! read more

We were introduced to My Green Lunch two summers ago at my grandsons summer camp. There were many delicious options to choose from and he loved being able to pre-order his lunch for the week. His favorites were the pizza and chicken & bean burrito. As his caregiver, it was comforting to know that he was getting a quality, healthy lunch each day that he loved. I wish other programs would offer a lunch program through My Green Lunch. read more

After 5 years of no lunch complaints using Taste Nutrition, our kid's school decided in a moment of unbridled risk-taking - lets go with a new lunch provider. How hard can a kid's meal be - some pizzas, hot dogs and burgers- easy? Almost every kid at school absolutely hates My Green lunch. The standard meals are small because they want you to pay an extra 50c to go for a large size meal. My kids regularly throw away $6.50 large meals now because they taste bad, are cold or just not right. We have to send extra snacks or backup food in their bags. If you are a school considering them- don't fall for the samples and "green" whatever. Have an 'Out" clause that lets you switch back to your original provider after 1 month. Will be the best decision you made. Better yet just avoid them. read more

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to sample food from My Green Lunch. What a delicious treat! We sampled black bean chili, chicken rice bowl, bean and cheese burrito, southwest salad, and chicken noodle soup. The food arrived warm, in eco-friendly packaging. It's hard to say which was my favorite because everything was delicious and best of all, everything was organic! We should all strive for eating well balanced meals using quality ingredients as My Green Lunch provides. My only negative remark is that our office is less than 30 people, so My Green Lunch will not deliver lunch regularly to us! Bummer for us but happy that so many others will be enjoying such great food! read more

My Green Lunch was selected as a new lunch vendor this school year (2019-2020). It has not been a good experience this far. Unless something changes very fast, we'll be forced to find an alternative for the family. The portions are very small but very expensive and the kids are complaining about the quality of the food. They even manage to make pizza unappealing. I have raised this issue with the School Board and hope that we can change vendors back ASAP. The company also appears to care more about social issues instead of providing good food options for the kids. For example, introducing "Meatless Mondays" to "increase awareness of how sustainable farming impacts the environment" and other moralizing is not a high on the list when choosing a public school lunch vendor. The only awareness these emails create is of the fact that the food is not their priority. Avoid this vendor if you have a choice. And if you don't have a choice ( ... how else could a business this bad even exist), be prepared. read more

This place is absolutely horrific. My school has this and no one likes this place. The food is massed produced and tastes horrible and undercooked. For example, the corn dogs will come moist and dry. All the other items are poorly seasoned or have no flavor. The best part of the meal is the fruit which sometimes is smashed or doesn't look fresh. Another major problem is the portions, even large is tiny for most people. For example, the dishes will have a side of veggies which have maybe a small scoop of veggies. Also the potato spuds are lined up so there are like maybe 4 and it looks very industrial. They are also dry. Also the salads such as the tofu one just don't work. The tofu is horrible, just don't even try it. read more

What more can I say! My Green Lunch is awesome! The level of quality in the personnel and the food are out of this world! If you have not yet had the opportunity to try My Green Lunch I urge you to do so! The food is very fresh as well as good! The portions are perfect, you will not go hungry! Everything is made on location and the day of! Which gives you that fresh not frozen taste of quality food! My son loves his Hot lunch now ... my school switched companies this year and this is a million times better and he actually eats everything. He has commented that the lunch is actually HOT, the old lunch was always cold and congealed. The food is fresh, healthy serving sizes and has a great variety. This is our school's first year with My Green Lunch, and I think the students are loving it. I can tell you, as a teacher, that My Green Lunch is garnering rave reviews with the staff. So far my favorites are the salads and the chicken tikka masala. The lettuce is really crisp! Plus Todd and the rest of the staff from My Green Lunch are really friendly, helpful and organized. I would definitely recommend them if your school is considering a change to something healthier and delicious! read more

I love having several menu selections for students. The student/parent can choose from options that are rather plain, for the youngest pickiest students to yummy sliders or fabulous salads. Families choose an entree from up to 12 choices per day; when students pick up their entree they get to choose fruits/vegetables and a snack. Entrees offered always include gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian options. You also get to choose the size of the meal. The food arrives in individual compostable packaging. Orders can be placed as needed or up to a month at a time. We have been customers for three years and look forward to many more. read more

I do not rate the food highly. My son has my Green Lunch at school and comes home with stomach aches all the time. If you are considering buying this for your child at school please dont! read more

Terrible food with rude employees. I strongly recommend that you don't order from this company. Food is expensive and given in small portions and is barely green. There are not many choices and is terrible tasting. The employees that hand out the food at my school are very rude and show poor behavior towards the students. I do not recommend this service even to my worst enemy! read more

When it comes to My Green Lunch, you are making the right choice! I work for PayPal and we organized a catered lunch on our HQ campus in San Jose for 25 people. First, I'd like to point out how fresh and absolutely delicious the food was, incorporating the dietary and allergy restrictions that we provided in advance. Everyone loved the food and almost everyone came back for seconds! Most of the people who participated in lunch, spanned from across the globe, so being able to accommodate a wide variety of food types was much appreciated. Second, the prompt delivery and set-up helped to make my job easier, as I was running around coordinating an event. Everything was on time and hot! Lastly, I have to comment on the passion the My Green Lunch staff brings. Todd Evjenth is the owner and creator, and it is quite clear that he puts his customers' needs first, ensuring everyone is happy, healthy, and full! Thanks again My Green Lunch, PayPal will definitely be coming back! read more
