Live and work from home in the Cambrian neighborhood of San Jose?…read moreTrying to eat healthier lunches on a budget? Love vegetarian, homestyle Indian food? Yogi Plate is here to save the day! I'm so glad that my neighbor told me about this home meal service several years ago after I had just had a baby and was in need of nourishing meals but had very little reserve to cook and clean them up myself. If the following features align with you, I highly encourage you to check out this great small business that was once a godsend to me. Yogi Plate, a South Bay catering business that cooks based on the sattvic diet (rooted in Ayurvedic principles with a focus on plant-based foods), had a weekday lunchbox service at a price more affordable than Door Dash or eating out. You simply order online, as late as the morning of if you like (but you can also set a custom subscription), then pick up your vegetarian Indian bagged lunch around noon at the designated location. My meal always came with rice, bread, and 2-3 curry or other entree dishes. As a non-Indian person, I have always enjoyed Indian food, but this place especially turned me on to strictly vegetarian options... always delicious, while still hearty and healthy! The owner and chef is a leader in this area of cuisine. I have interacted with him in person many times upon picking up my lunch, and he and his family are also very kind. While I generally only ordered the weekday lunch service, they have expanded over time to offer different dinner options, pizzas, etc. And while my pickup location is in the Cambrian neighborhood of San Jose, they also have pickup locations in Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Santa Clara, Milpitas, Palo Alto, and San Jose - Commercial St. Inquire within for more specific addresses. Thank you, Yogi Plate!

Fast forward to today, I later found out from the bride and groom it was Heaven's Kitchen too! After we did our tasting with HK, we knew we had to have them. Thuy was amazing during the whole process and the team is very organized and professional. We got so many compliments from our guests about how good the food was. We had a good number of guests with dietary restrictions and allergies, but HK was so nice about it and so accommodating. They were able to substitute out some dishes or even prepare a special dish for those with allergies/restrictions because they wanted to make sure all the guests were able to eat. Our vegan and vegetarian guests raved about how happy they were with their meal and one of them said it was the best vegetarian meal they've ever eaten! If you're looking for a caterer, you have to check out Heaven's Kitchen! They were worth every penny and we couldn't have been happier with choosing them to feed our guests! TYSM Thuy, Chef John and the rest of the HK Team for making our wedding so memorable and taking care of our guests!!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would…read more From the very beginning, working with this catering team was so easy. I'm someone who had very specific ideas about what I wanted (and also changed my mind a few times ), and they never once made it feel difficult. They just made it happen. Every detail--from the overall menu down to the flavors and presentation--felt completely customized to us. And the food... I cannot emphasize this enough... people are STILL talking about it. Every single guest had something to say. The duck buns? Gone immediately. The lobster and steak? Unreal. Even the vegetables were somehow a highlight (which says a lot). Everything tasted intentional, elevated, and honestly just so good. Omg and how could I forget the passed appetizers during happy hour?! They just kept coming out! The food and service were AMAZING!!!! What really stood out to me though was how thoughtful they were with our guests. They paid close attention to dietary needs like vegetarian options, low-sodium preferences, and individual allergies were all handled seamlessly. No one felt like an afterthought, which meant a lot to us. They even took care of the kids and made fresh chicken nuggets with a side of white rice (my kids' favorite foods lol). We didn't have to think about packing a separate meal for the kids and we didn't have to fight when them to eat what everyone else was served and it honestly made the whole night run smoother. Overall, they didn't just provide food--they elevated the entire experience. I didn't have to stress, second guess, or micromanage anything. They just got it, and delivered beyond what I imagined. Honestly coming from a Viet family I was really scared about serving catered food to all the Ong and Ba because they can be so picky. The food was NOT COLD. It was prepped in the kitchen of the venue, and even Ba Noi (the toughest critic -- never likes wedding food, not easily impressed by anything) enjoyed the food. Truly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Thank you THUY!!!! Everything was PERFECT! I'd have another wedding just to eat your food again!! lol
