Always a solid vegan or vegetarian option to eat out. The menu has a good variety of plant based substitutions and just well put together plant based meals. If you're searching for perfect replicas of meals that typically include animal products you will not find it here. But they do well with the balance between health and good taste so long as you aren't the pickiest person in the world. The Far East Bowl is my favorite. GREAT flavors and textures. I always get extra sauces. The Crispy Cauliflower is my current go-to appetizer. Both dipping sauce options are tasty. Both of these menu items are best fresh, especially the cauliflower will be much less than crispy if you wait an hour for third party delivery. Service is generally good. Hopefully they get the self serve drinks back soon. The matcha horchata was strangely delicious. read more

In love with this gem of an eatery. Casual and quick plant based deliciousness. Dare I say even affordable for this area!?! Bring your meat eating friends for the chick'n sandwiches and please everyone. The buffalo chick'n salad is fantastic. Employee are prompt and pleasant, the space itself extremely clean and comfortable. Looks like they do a ton of take out also. My only change would be to the Mac-n-cheese. It's more of a yummy garlic sauced pasta. I enjoyed it but my son felt mislead read more

We came to try this place out as there are so few vegan options in the area. Initially I was convinced they only had vegan "options" but the cashier told me everything is actually vegan so that's great! We got the mondo nachos, buffalo chik'n, mac and cheez, tempura green beans, carrot cake, and chocolate brownie. The mondo nachos were amazing and they disappeared quickly. The green beans and buffalo chick'n were both good but it felt like not enough food for the price. The mac and cheez was probably the best vegan mac we have ever had. Brownie was ok but we have had better but the carrot cake was amazing! We would come back just for that carrot cake! We are excited to try more stuff here but know better what not to get next time. Overall give it a shot and they have a mobile app that's worth downloading if you like their food! read more

I've been twice, and had two different experiences. The Reuben sandwich (pictured) was really, really good. It's not necessarily passing for meat, but it's delicious on its own. Was full of flavor, hot, and prepared quickly when I was in a rush. The second time I went I had a veggie burger -- can't remember which one because it wasn't memorable at all. It just wasn't for me, and I think it may have to do with what their house burger is made of. I think someone eating the same thing may have enjoyed it because they didn't do anything wrong or make it incorrectly, It was just very earthy and dry for my tastes. Overall the location is quick, clean, and friendly so I don't have any issues. And I think my personal dislike of the veggie burger may not be universal. read more

This is sooooo good. I am not a vegetarian and I couldn't tell this was a vegetarian sandwich. It is seasoned to perfection. Update so I started getting a bad headache so I decided to check the nutrition facts and this sandwich has 2690mg of sodium. If you have high blood pressure don't order this. I love that veggie grill has affordable dishes and appetizers that one may never think to veganize. I recently had the Japanese katsu sliders and corn bisque bread bowl and they were both perfect for colder weather (it's currently pouring in LA). I appreciate that they diversify their menu seasonally because it means I always have new things to try. Their only fault would be that they can be stingy when it comes to portions and seasoning. The soup-to-bread ratio wasn't sufficient and I was left with bread for days. Their chipotle aioli is amazing and I think they should incorporate more spice and flavorings into all of their dishes. Overall, this is a good spot. Their service is amazing too! I recently went in with a $5 credit and the barcode wasn't working, so they comped the meal. That was really nice and unexpected. Thanks, VeggieGrill. You're a tried and true staple for us vegans read more

Just when I thought I had eaten everything good at Veggie Grill...yesterday we discovered how ridiculously good the carrot cake is. We were finishing up ordering entrees and spotted a giant sheet tray in the kitchen of freshly made goods and had to ask what it was. The cashier told us it was carrot cake, so we added a slice to our order for $4.25. I can't believe how good the cake was. Although it was dairy and egg-free, as Veggie Grill only has vegan food, it was as fluffy and moist as a traditionally prepared carrot cake. Incredibly delicious! Also, after we shared a slice, I didn't feel weighed down as I usually do when I eat dessert after a hearty meal. I usually don't eat dessert but this was worth it! I ordered the Korean Seoul Bowl which I must warn you is VERY spicy even though the gochujang sauce is on the side since they actually do cook with the same sauce in the rice/quinoa and on the protein patty. I asked the cashier who told me the dish was not spicy because the sauce was on the side but that was not the case. It was delicious but I won't order it again because it was too spicy for me. A huge plus is that they didn't use tempeh or an obviously fake meat but instead used their famous VG Beyond Burger patty for the protein patty....SO delicious. For you first timers I definitely recommend their ridiculously creamy macaroni and cheese, kale caesar salad (with the delicious fake bacon), the lightly spicy b(uffalo)-wings, fried cauliflower appetizer, Bombal bowl with chana masala (another one that is ridiculously spicy but SO good), Moroccan lentil soup, banh mi tofu salad (one of my favorites as the crunchy glazed tofu is addictive), and of course the VG Beyond Burger which is so much better than your typical veggie burger. read more

Dropped in for lunch with a friend after our yogaworks class. On a Wednesday for a late lunch they were still quite packed and had a line. My first time trying veggie grill which I learned is a vegan/vegetarian friendly chain. The salad was huge! I had enough leftovers for another meal. Pricing was reasonable for the size of the portion. It was healthy and quick. Would definitely try again. They had an interesting menu with tons of choices even for a picky eater. read more

I've lived in the midwest for eight sad years because there was no Veggie Grill to be found. Yes, there were some okay vegetarian places, but man - my taste buds were missing out on the glory of the unforgettable Buffalo Bomber, or the mouth-watering cauliflower mashed potatoes with gravy. Friends, not ONLY is it vegetarian, it is VEGAN. The food tastes AHHHHHMAZING. I have brought t-rexs, killer whales, lions, and hyenas to Veggie Grill, and you won't guess what happened. THEY ALL BECAME VEGETARIAN! The second they all took the first bite, they realized the pernicious error of their ways, and switched to goodness. The service is stellar every single time, and the food is made completely with Instagram worthy thoughts in mind. If you're in Southern California, it would be a sin, no dare I say, a CRIME, not to visit this location. read more

This Veggie Grill is part of a center with other popular food establishments as well as other retail stores. Though they have a large parking lot that offers free parking, it is very busy and you might have to circle an aisle twice before finding an available spot. So you line up at the cashier to order your food and you'll pick it up when it's ready. Very fast service. CORN CHOWDER WITH COCONUT MILK - probably one of the best chowders ever. You'll walk out with a satisfied tummy. It is a filling light lunch. BUFFALO WINGS - I don't know what they used for their boneless "buffalo wings" but the texture is really good. It really almost seems like you are eating meat. The hot sauce is spot on. read more

Turkey pot pie was everything I had hoped it to be!!! Crust on the bottom and on the top. Chunks of meat that look and taste like turkey. Lots of carrots & mushrooms!!! Crispy crust on top and gravy soaked on the bottom. Well season. However for the pumpkin pie, I was not thrilled with this version. I like that it was less sugary but it more like pudding placed on top of a crust with some nuts on it. It would be improved if it was baked right before serving. After that I went to Whole Foods to buy there vegan pumpkin pie because I wasn't satisfied. read more

This Veggie Grill has gone downhill in my opinion. The person taking orders appeared completely disinterested, unhelpful and overall had an unhappy demeanor with a sassy, impatient attitude. Zero stars if I could there. The highlight for me was the avocado toast. Nice touch with the sliced radishes, sprouts, grape tomatoes, and a hint of lemon. Kids mac n cheese, side of kale, and side of mandarin oranges - not bad. I personally like the menu items that are just fresh veggies and not imitation meat, or substitutes of something (perhaps why I'm not a vegan), and why I liked the avacado toast. read more

Sometimes when I'm hungry, my brain doesn't function correctly. So when I placed an online order and accidentally selected the El Segundo location instead of a location that was more convenient for me, I was grateful that the manager took very good care of me! 4pm - Online Order is placed for pickup at 4:30pm 4:18pm - I realized I ordered at the wrong location and immediately call El Segundo to cancel the order 4:25pm - I'm thanking Juan G., the manager, for being so awesome! You see, canceling the order is easy. But since I pre-paid online, issuing a refund can be complex since it requires that I physically go to the El Segundo location. At that point I figured it would be easier if I just pick up my food at El Segundo even though it would take longer to get there. Next thing I know, Juan is offering to call the other location asking them to do him this favor of filling my order! This was of course after he teased me about not visiting their location which he claims is the best! I'm not gonna argue there! After receiving such amazing customer service here, I totally agree :) This experience has earned a spot in my list of reviews titled "Above and Beyond." Thank you Juan and thank you Veggie Grill! :) read more

So far so good. Glad to add another decent fast food chain to my growing list of decent eats for when I don't want to cook. The burgers here go pretty hard for my non burger lovers. The Buffalo chicken wrap gets it done for sure. My boyfriend decided to go vegan for a week so we ended up trying this place recommended by his teacher. When I heard that Veggie Grill had "chicken" sandwiches and "burgers" I was interested in what these were going to taste like. This location is in El Segundo, tucked in the back of a shopping complex. There is a private lot with a bunch of parking all around. When we got there, we were greeted by a worker who asked us if we had any questions. She told us that the chicken sandwich was made of soy protein and the burger of some kind of protein and beet juice. We both decided on the Santa Fe Crispy Chikin sandwich which comes topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and chipotle mayo. You can pick your side of fries, coleslaw or the seasonal soup. I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor of the patty. I've never really had vegan food before so it was interesting to try. My boyfriend gave it a solid 9/10. To me, the other ingredients overpowered the patty but it was still good for not being real chicken. Definitely a great spot for vegan food and they have a good variety of choices! read more

I have been going to this veggie grill for three years and I want to start off by saying I have always loved the food and especially love the service. Keep up the good work. Something struck me tonight, though, and it's going to impact whether or not I keep coming here in the future. Ever since they've had it, my favorite item on the menu is the Immunity Bowl. I get it maybe once a week and it's not the least expensive item on the menu, to be sure. I get home after picking up my order and found that the portion is *significantly* smaller. I'm talking nearly half of the portion's original size. (Photo included. Every other time I've purchased this meal it has come up to the marked line in the bowl and touched the plastic lid). This is really frustrating because the meal is not cheap and I wish I had known this change was coming. I would've ordered more food! If the Immunity Bowl is going to be this small from now on, please let your customers know, because 12 bucks for half a meal is not going to cut it for me any more. I totally understand pricing and portions need to change sometimes just please: communicate those changes. Update: there were no brussel sprouts either :( And only 3 pieces of sweet potato. Super disappointing.. read more

This restaurant is in a mall about five minutes from the airport. It is an order at the counter then they bring the food to your table kind of place. Apparently there are plenty of these restaurants in LA but we had not seen one before. What a treat. We got two bowls and that was enough for the two of us for dinner. The Banh mi salad is a cool kale salad with cucumber, grated cabbage, papaya and grilled tofu. The dressing is sweet and flavorful. The Earth bowl is warm quinoa and lentils topped with cooked broccoli, carrots, zucchini, beets and grilled tofu with a miso ginger dressing. We shared and they complimented each other very well. The wait staff was friendly and the environment was clean. We considered going back soon to explore their detailed vegan menu items. When I feel like soup and salad for lunch, this is the place. Sometimes you don't want to get bogged down by protein, especially when the afternoon includes a marathon conference call or meeting. And yes, there's something for the non-vegetarians and if you love veggies, you've found the spot. Everything is fresh and delicious. I haven't tried the meatless meats (they have chicken, fish and crab even) so I can't comment on those but based on orders from others, they seem popular. I like the kale (marinated) salads and whatever soup they got brewing (made daily). The staff is super friendly and helpful. Try to beat the lunch rush or stop in for a late afternoon bite. The place is clean. The food is fresh. There's plenty of parking either around the buildings and across the street in the bigger shopping plaza lot. Today before leaving work, I ordered food for curbside pickup. I arrived and waited 15 minutes past the time it was to be completed. I went in the restaurant and the cashier said, you need to email when your here. The Veggie Grill was a great surprise! This one was in a nice strip mall just off El Segundo Blvd. I had the Far East Bowl with sesame encrusted (soy) chick'n, rice and a small salad. My wife had the Korean Bulgogi plate, with the soy based "beef". The food was outstanding! This is a serve yourself type of place, where you walk up to order. Yes, I know this is my 8th review of @VeggieGrill but I have say thank you Veggie Grill for giving free birthday meals! I absolutely love this restaurant and so I was was quite pleased to find out they give free birthday meals. Both my mom and I have gotten free birthday meals here. Her birthday meal consisted of the grillin' chickin' sandwich with a side sweet potato fries. I chose the crispy chickin' with a side of mac and cheese during this trip I think I've tried every side that Veggie Grill has to offer now, with the latest being the mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was alright but I think nothing can beat my favorite: the sweetheart fries! Fast forward to my birthday. My chosen meal was the Thai Chickin' salad. I've tried pretty much all the sandwiches at Veggie Grill and I wanted to try something different this time. The Thai Chickin' salad is excellent. Right from the moment the salad was brought to our table I was impressed. It is definitely a meal that comes from a five star Yelp place. It looks uber delicious and it tastes uber delicious too. Red and green cabbage, corn salsa, green onion, mini mandarin oranges, cilantro and sesame seeds and wonton strips on top. Yum! All of this was mixed with Thai dressing. It is great! Lastly, I love how they subtract the most expensive meal from your bill as your birthday treat. Yay, this is very nice of them :). Thanks Veggie Grill. No free carrot cake for the birthday celebrant though...that would've have been a nice touch *hint, hint* hehe but nevertheless it a treat in itself to get a free birthday meal here. The food here is always excellent :) read more

The last time I went to a restaurant abbreviated VG was during school. One of Cal Poly's eateries on campus was called Vista Grande and it served cafeteria-quality food that I quickly grew tired of. Hearing "VG" kind of makes me cringe. This VG will not be that case however. Veggie Grill serves up some of the best vegan food I have ever tasted. All hail to the chief! In this case, the chief is the kale. I ordered the All Hail Kale salad with tempeh and it was mighty scrumptious! The marinated red cabbage and kale were served with roasted corn salsa & walnuts, drizzled with a ginger-papaya vinaigrette. Every component of this salad was uberly delicious and the vinaigrette just tied it all together to make it scrumdiddlyumptious. It was quite a large salad; I took home a lot of it, and it was just as great the next day. Another plus is that this meal was comped because it was my birthday! All you have to do is sign up on their website and they will send you a voucher in the mail, and you can use it towards any entree (lunch or dinner) during your birth month. I will definitely come back! Even if I had to pay for it, it was worth every Abraham. read more

I had no idea that vegetarian food could taste this good!! I got the "Grillin' Chickin" sandwich which was their grilled chillin' chicken (veggie protein patty), lettuce, avocado, red onions, tomato, cilantro pesto, and chipotle ranch on a wheat bun, and got the Sweetheart Fries (sweet potato fries) as a side. mmm mmm MMM it was sooo good! The "chicken" patty was so soft and juicy and it tasted just like real chicken! And all the tastes and flavors blended so well in my mouth. I devoured the whole sandwich in 5 minutes. The fries were also pretty good but not the addicting kind of good that I usually expect from sweet potato fries. My friend got the Papa's Portobello burger and hers was delicious as well! If you're a mushroom fan, get this. They also have really refreshing and yummy peach white iced tea! It may be a little too sweet for some people but to me, it was perfect.
