After dropping off my iphone at the apple store for a new battery and waiting for them to ultimately kill my phone (story for another time), I decided to check out the new whole foods next store. Hunger kicked in and I found this "burger" place near one of the upstairs entrances. It took me a while to realize that it was a plant based burger place. I can eat the hell out of a beef burger but I also share a passion for a well made vegetarian burger. It just so happens that day I was in the mood for one. I ordered the Signature burger because i like quinoa and weirdly named mushrooms fascinate me. I ordered it with cheddar but they were out of the cheddar that day. They substituted it with the gouda-like cheese. As far as veggie cheeses go the taste and consistency is quite pleasing. The burger itself was quite good. It also held together pretty well considering most freshly made veggie burgers I have had usually fall apart pretty quickly. Finished the meal with fried tots to make a pretty pleasing meal. I'll probably be back. Not exactly health food but if you are looking for something different, or you are vegan, this might be your place. read more

Placed order through Next Level Burger website for delivery, waited about an hour and a half (30 min past estimated delivery time). I called up to the restaurant to see what was going on and they tell me that their delivery system is powered by GrubHub and no one from there ever came to pick my food up to deliver. That has nothing to do with me, I placed my order with Next Level Burger, so as far as I am concerned it is Next Level Burger's responsibility to make sure the food I purchased from them gets to me. Furthermore, even if no one from GrubHub came to pick it up, why was this not communicated to me by Next Level Burger? Why did I have to be the one to call you guys? And if I hadn't called, would you all have just let my food sit there? Employee was rude when I called on top of that. The food is mad good, but the service not worth it. Even though I was so happy when I found out this place was going to open & I felt like the owners/founders were genius they definitely failed at hiring decent staff. Your staff are everything in this industry. I've been here over 5 times & the staff seem under trained & seem to be having too much fun at work. Fun work environments are essential but when it comes to standing by a companies mission & customer service there has to be some rules in place. Poor staff can kill your business! I see the potential in the place! Multiple locations world wide but I wish they hired more passionate staff. People who have interest in the vegan/organic lifestyle, passionate foodies, happy chefs & cooks! It will reflect on the service. The staff can never answer if a certain burger include soy or gluten etc. Every staff member should know the menu in & out! Disgusting. My first and last time here. I tried the signature burger and the secret sauce wasn't bad if I had to eat this once again, I would try another burger. The cheese fries are horrible. Please change the type of cheese used on the fries as it's too heavy and stringy. The onions were cut too big. On top of that the presentation was horrible too. It's like they threw my food in the bowl and didn't bother to wipe down the overflow of cheese on the sides. Word of advice, plain crinkle fries is the way to go if going for baked fries. This vegan spot is by far the best vegan spot I've visited. Sheretha aka Riri and Lauren were so professional and were very nice to us from the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left. They made sure to make us feel comfortable and welcomed as it was our first time visiting their restaurant. They were very patient with both my cousin and I and explained each item on their menu. Really great vegan "fast food" spot. I got the BLT sandwich with avocado and the Hot Dog for my daughter. The "bacon" on my sandwich was really flavorful with a great texture and my daughter's hot dog tasted just like the real thing which is great. The lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and ketchup are great and not overdone. A bit pricey for the size but then again, it's NYC. Great non-burger burger!!! My friend took me there today after a local yoga class, and I was pleasantly surprised. I couldn't decide as there were so many mouth watering options, so I settled on the "Signature"; House-made umami mushroom and quinoa patty topped with avocado and roasted garlic thyme mayo. I opted out of the vegan cheese option (not a fan) and added grilled onions. Bun was fresh (next time I'll ask for it to be toasted), and the lettuce, tomato and onion fresh. It was yummy! If I were vegan I would eat it everyday and probably be 400 lbs. The Special Sauce burger reminds me of In n Out in CA. The tater tots are also effing amazing. But the guy was like "baked or fried?" I had the "All American" and first let me just say, the "All American" burger looks great! It looked to pretty to eat. But I ate it. And loved it! Lately, I've been searching out more and more for vegan comfort food. I have tried basically every casual, affordable vegan place in NYC, and I keep going to the ones I liked the most. I can happily say that Next Level Burger is now one of those places. They serve the BEST vegan burgers I've ever tasted. I wouldn't say it could completely fool you into thinking it's not vegan-- it's delicious in its own way. I love how you can get a burger with a side for the same price as you would just getting only a burger at other vegan places. My favorite side to get is the tator tots. (They taste exactly like the ones from Champs). A huge plus is also how since it's run like a fast food joint, you don't have to tip your server or wait to be seated before you go. I can name very few vegan places that aren't like this, which is a reason why I don't eat out as much as I'd like to. One compliant I will say is that I would like to see other types of drinks added to the menu. From the decor , the customer service and the food excellent . My husband said it was best burger he had including non Vegan burgers. I was so impressed. The only thing I would improve upon is adding vegan whipped cream to the milkshakes.The milkshakes remind me of Sonic blast .The peanut butter cup milkshake is incredible. I had the all American burger and they actually had cheese options . I also had baked tater tots and the large peanut butter cup milkshake. I will say they give you a good portion I couldn't finish it all so the small milkshake might be the best bet for me next time.
