I bought a 1998 landcruiser from this dealership 2 years ago. Car pricing is straight forward and i negotiated my purchase over phone while driving from up north- bluetooth duh- peter is very reasonable and helped me close the deal without haggling. The timing belt and water pump of my car was already changed. It came with new tires, brakes had still lots of milage on them, car seats are restored and in general i got a great USED car. Dont expect a traditional used car dealership like CARmx, cus next car is a small car dealership. They have an office and the parking lot of that bldg is where you see some of the cars for sale. That is how they keep the price lower than other dealerships. It took me 2 years to write this review cus i wanted to make sure there are no delayed issues that i might be facing within that time frame. In years to come when my kids are ready for their first car i will come back to Next Car and buy another car from Pete. read more

Purchased a 2002 Sequoia that had the engine Light come on 20 miles later. Had to spend thousands on replacing the complete Evap system and replace the passenger catalytic converter that was not a part for this car. Ultimately this vehicle would have never passed smog to be sold to me in this condition plus Nextcar had to of reset the codes for the engine light to not be on. Honestly the most uncomfortable possible experience viewing the car. Was interested in purchasing a third generation 4runner and came in with the expectation of buying the car same day. I spent three weeks researching used cars hoping to find a one-owner Lexus ES300 with low miles at a fair price (I wanted a good car, but didn't want to pay CarMax prices...) I finally found one that seemed like the real deal at Next Car in Irvine. I drove out from Palm Springs hopeful that the car they had listed would be as good as it seemed, but I was completely expecting it to be a wasted trip - I had driven to Van Nuys the week before for a car that turned out to be sketchy at best. When I walked around it I was stunned that it was in absolutely pristine condition and the moment I turned over the engine I knew this was my car! It was every bit as clean as it's description! I'm not an impulsive person, but I bought it immediately after driving it, though I did pay $150 extra for a 48 hour return warranty so I could have my mechanic look at it. I kept my fingers crossed while it was at the shop being evaluated, but my mechanic was very impressed with the quality of the car. The rear brakes needed to be planed, but that was it. The CarFax indicated that the previous owner was as OCD about maintenance as they were about the interior and exterior - this was the perfect car for me at an excellent price. I'd never buy a used car from a dealer who didn't provide CarFax reports and offer a 48 return warranty (though they were fine with me taking it to a mechanic near them - I wanted my guy in Palm Springs to look at it.) Peter was terrific and very low-key, no pressure. Everything about the transaction was easy and stress-free... I've only purchased a few used cars in my life, but this was definitely the best used car experience I've had! read more

This little used car dealer is a great find! They pick-off local new car dealer fresh trades to resale. Only have a small and quick selling inventory. No price games! One internet price, which is usually fair. My wife and I was searching for a IMPOSSIBLE to find older Toyota Highlander with low miles and perfect condition! Wow, Do not buy from this place!!!! I talked with Peter who was a very nice guy but sneaky as well. I test drove a vehicle and it was great so I wanted it. After signing all the paperwork and the car was mine, we walked to the vehicle and he then proceeded to tell me the car needs a shock replace. I just stood there in absolute shock knowing this is not a minor issue. He then told me he had a shop and the shock was all paid for and ready for me. The next day I go to the shop and the owner proceeds to tell me he has no idea what I'm talking about. He contacts Peter whom tells him to test drive the car and figure out what was wrong. He brings up a random part he needs to replace but I live 7 hours away and couldn't wait. I get home and bring it to my trusted mechanic only to find out FIVE things are wrong with the car and a HUGE price tag to fix!!! I contacted Peter and he said he would give me a call that I never received. I 100% do not recommend buying from this place. The place, and the person in charge Peter, at first all seemed nice, heck! The cars they sell are all impeccable and nice presented for the customer. My actual issue is this: I was shopping for a truck back in December, I found some nice ones, they had "still do" some nice Lexus LX 470 trucks from which I wanted to buy one. I went, check one of the trucks, and all seemed fine. I told the guy I was getting a loan from my loaner bank, he was OK and he even updated on the website the truck was sale pending the following day. He gave me a P.O. and all I was pre-approved, and early in the afternoon, my bank tells me they wouldn't loan for a car older than 2010 and with over 100K miles on the clock. The guy told my wife cause I was busy working, he had another truck, a newer LX 460 2012 Lexus, that would qualify with my loaner, we accepted the offer, asked my boss to let me go early for the deal, I went to the bank, they gave me the paperwork and all needed to close the deal, I talked over the phone with the seller and told him I was on my way to get the truck, to my unpleasant surprise, after half my way to the dealer before they would close, the seller calls and out of the blue says the truck was "just sold". I just cannot find decency or honor on a person you are closing a deal with and all of a sudden they change their mind to it. I don't know for how long that truck was offered for sale, but honest people just don't do that to you. He had all to do the deal with us, and mysteriously someone else showed up with the money. I cannot tell if they judged me for my looks or race, but felt like I wasn't worth my buy. Not a good place to buy if you don't look rich or white I guess...Fortunately ended up buying a truck from a trustful dealership in Cerritos with Toyota certification, and saved me the hassle of buying from someone not trustworthy. read more
