Love this place. My MIL introduced me to this nail salon a few months ago. I just recently moved from CA to CT and have been here at least once a month for the last few months. The people are super nice and they do a great job at pampering you. I usually get a gel mani/regular pedi and haven't been disappointed. Many times while you are getting the manicure, they will also give you a back rub/neck rub at the same time which is nice. They offer chair massages and waxing services as well. read more

I live in Fairfield, but I was in Newtown yesterday and desperately needed a fresh UV gel manicure. Booked a same-day appointment and received the best manicure of my life from Ingrid, who was professional and friendly and meticulous. It took an hour and $60 which is more than I'm used to paying for UV gel manicure, but in my opinion, it was worth every penny, my nails look amazing! First off I see there aren't many recent reviews... Took my daughter here for a mani/pedi for her homecoming dance and decided what the heck dad will get a mani with her! Decided to come here because my girlfriend recommended it as she's always had good service and been happy with the results. Who knew a mani could be so enjoyable and relaxing?! Nail trim, cleaning underneath, filing, buffing, even a paraffin dip! Woohoo! I appreciated the attention to detail on my manly working mans hands and they came out looking and feeling great! Even got a nice brief shoulder & neck massage! Ahhhhhhh! My daughters nails came out great and she was very pleased. Always a top notch job. Conscientious and clean! I've been coming here for several years and love the quality of the nails and the attentiveness of the staff. They are concerned for the hygiene and health of the nail as well as the beauty of the work they do. They offer so many options for nails. I always get UV gel nails and usually gel polish too. I'm from out of town (Boston) and wanted to get my nails done on a Friday afternoon. It was 1pm and they were quite crowded but got me in immediately! My boyfriend's mother recommended Newtown Nails and they are longtime loyal customers. I went with a regular pedicure and a gel manicure and was not disappointed! The quality of the pedicure for the price was incredible. There's a massaging chair, free paraffin treatment, and you get a stone massage. They were very sweet considering this was my first pedicure in 8 months and my feet were a disaster. The manicure went well too but I did get cut twice in the cuticles pretty badly and days later I'm still experiencing issues and had to cover up my beautiful manicure with bandaids. I give it five stars because they were truly great and I even got a shoulder/back massage while getting by manicure; nonetheless I was bummed not to have a few dollars knocked off the $35 price tag. I will probably go with a regular manicure next time since it's something like $12. But the gel has stayed on for 4 days so far with no chipping or discoloration so major credit to them there. IMPORTANT: Bring cash for tips. I knew ahead of time because of my boyfriend's mom, luckily. read more

I have been going to Newtown Nail Spa for years and never have had a problem. The women who work their are so friendly, do a fabulous job. I get the UV gel extensions with gel polish on my nails and occasionally one will break or start to separate from the nail. Do NOT get powder extension nails here. I had a terrible experience. The powder went on clumpy and un-even not to mention the shape of my nail was terrible. After trying over and over again they finally gave me gel and didn't charge me extra which is the only reason I gave two stars instead of one. They are not experienced with acrylics or powder so if that's what you are looking for this is NOT the nail spa for you. read more

This is a great place in a plaza next to Big Y. A group of 6 ladies went to the salon last Saturday morning, for our friend's wedding that was later in the day. We got a few different services done- I got a 20 minute chair massage (really great and she even used a hot stone at the end), while some of the other girls got mani/pedis or just manis. The pedicure chairs are fabulous with massage built in, I sat in one and got some extra massage in while I waited. The mani/pedis all come with parrafin treatment & neck & shoulder massage, which is nice. The prices are pretty good -$12 for manicure and $25 for a 20 minute chair massage, and $25 for pedicure. This place is owned by Koreans, and by my experience those spas tend to be very clean and neat, and this one was the same. All of the people who worked there were very friendly. We were all pretty pleased and they got all of us out of there in an hour or so. If i'm back in the area I'd definitely come to this place again! read more

Will Not be going back. Went there with my daughters and felt rushed through the entire process. Two teenagers walked in the door and they were immediately given attention for neck massages (while they were sitting and getting their nails done) however no one walked over to me or my daughters the whole time we were there. Staff seemed disinterested and tired. With all the nail salons around and so much competition, more attention should be given to the customer. (especially when they were not bust and there were seven technicians sitting around, most of them playing on their phones.) NOT worth $140 for one adult and two "kids" manicure/pedicures. I hadn't been to this salon in years, so when my friend said she had a gift certificate and wanted company, I thought why not? Now I remember why I never went here. I got a regular manicure while my friend got a gel manicure. We were both in and out of there in 20 minutes. From start to finish, my manicure took 10 minutes. That's absolutely ridiculous. People come to nail spas for a relaxing, leisured time. The woman that was doing my nails seemed so rushed and disinterested in what she was doing, the shape of my nails are completely uneven and the paint was just slopped on. I will not be back again. I continually return here for my pedicure but unfortunately I have to stop. When I get a pedicure, I want to be pampered and I would like it to last more than 10 minutes. I continued to go thinking maybe they would change but they haven't. Even when they aren't busy, it's in and out. I was in Boston, in July and went to a nail salon for a pedicure, it was amazing. I was treated like a queen. That was just a normal pedicure, I didn't have to spend upwards to $80 for a special pedicure. The price was the exact same that I pay in Newtown. I'm sorry but you need to change Newtown Nail Spa. I won't be back. :( read more

The nail tech cut my toe with her cuticle scissors and acted like nothing happened. She finished the pedicure but it began to bleed so the owner administered first aid. I refused to pay for my pedicure and they became upset. No one apologized for their mistake. Their customer service was horrible. read more
