New to the area and looking to get my nails done. Found Dolan nail spa. The staff is very nice, took our temperature, everyone is required to wear masks, all surfaces were wiped clean. It felt very safe. That being said, was not a great manicure. The whole process felt very rushed and I felt as if the nail technician was very distracted because she kept having to get up to assist people. I understood if they were short staffed but still. My nails were filed incredibly uneven and as soon as she applied the polish and top coat to my nails the paint began to separate and air bubbles popped up. She walked me to the nail drying station and I pointed this out to her. She asked me, "what I did to them?" I told I didn't do anything, she then took me back to her desk and repainted two of my nails. I felt bad complaining about the rest of my nails because she seemed frustrated, so I sat for over an hour to make sure everything dried. The next day my nails were completely chipping. Wish this could have worked out better. Would have been a great spot to go to. read more

I am visiting my parents for a few days and needed a spa day. I am used to my New York City salons where you have to basically fight for a chair to get your nails done. This place was very quiet and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Everything was nice and clean and organized. They have a huge fish tank with a lovely fish. The interior is beautiful. As far as the service itself goes, she was very careful with my nails which is always a plus. My hands are painfully dry, so she soaked my hands in paraffin wax. I've never had that done before! It was such a weird feeling! Definitely worth it though, because my hands were so soft afterwards. All in all, I am very happy with the salon. I went there on a Sunday for a Pedicure and Manicure. Very convenient that they are open on a Sunday, but they had minimal staff on and I think that was why I was so rushed through. My pedicure was very short spending the girl spent a small amount of time making my skin soft and barely a five minute leg massage. She didn't even try to talk me into a better pedicure. When the job was done my feet looked dry and they didn't scrape the extra skin off my toes. The toe nails looked good, though. Then my finger nails were done super fast and nobody came over for a neck massage. I was hoping for a relaxing day and left feeling very unpleasant. I will not be returning. read more

I really like this place. Today was my second time here and I decided to bring my 3 year old daughter for her first "manicure." They were so welcoming and helpful. They guided her through the process and did such a great job on her nails. The prices are unbeatable here and the service is great. Get any spa pedicure and they throw in the manicure for free. My nail girl of 32 years retired. I was looking for a new place. I figured I'd try Dolan because I have been before and they came out ok. I went the other day and to say I was dissatisfied is an understatement. Tje polish is already chipping. 2 days after. I started w one girl and ended w another. Never seen that before. My nails look like utter shit. For $48 for a fill.. which is ludacris. I can see if they did a good job then I have no problems paying that. Now I have to live w theese crappy nails for another 2 weeks basically. Avoid this place at all costs. If you want to know where I'm going and don't have to fill for almost 3 weeks let me know. I'd love a refund because they were that bad. Please retrain your staff. If you're going to charge that price they should be perfect. I'd give it no stars if I could read more

THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME AT THE SALON. Granted, I called about 15 minutes before I wanted to have my nails done, and they took me in, BUT the guy was kind of rude on the phone, and in person. I felt like an obligation more than a guest as the nail tech man pointed out to me time and time again, that my nails were going to take about 20 minutes to get the polish off. Look, I have been getting my nails done with POWDER for over 2 years now, and normally it is ground down and then the acetate added on top for a quick removal. He did not want to grind the polish off that much so it took much longer. Neither tech (they kept switching who was working on my nails, really annoying btw) made any form of casual conversation to help the time go by any faster while I sat there in a room that smelled like his last cigarette, with the depressing news channel on. I have one nail that is much smaller than the rest due to a really bad injury, so the scar tissue does not allow the nail to attach to the bed half way down my finger, and every now and then I need a fake nail to make it look normal. I was charged $3 for a single fake nail and some nail glue! I'm talking like the kind you can buy yourself and just glue one, no acrylic or real time needed. While buffering my nail, the man tech made me bleed to the point that they needed to use that stuff that help clot your blood. He continued on to adding the powder, which looked lovely, until the last coat. By the time I left my nails were all different lengths, and the top coat stripey, not smooth at all! It looks like I ran my nails down a pumice stone. In the long run, an hour and $48 later, I left unsatisfied. I will be going back to Bella Nails in Danbury, where the staff and facility are much more modern and welcoming! read more

I have gone to this salon for years and I do notice that there is no point in making an appointment because they do not honor it. I have gone there for the last time. I had an appointment and again it was not honored or they over scheduled. The girl who was to do my nails was late to work. So I was put in the pedicure chair and one of the other workers told me that it was because she was coming from NY and would be here in a few minutes. She put the water on and it was boiling hot. She never asked if it was okay. After being left in the water for 40 minutes I was ready to leave. She told me again the girl would be another ten minutes. Great Experience!! I am a nail salon snob. I'll admit it. Most important to me is cleanliness and relaxing experience and Dolan rated high on both of these. They used prepackaged nail tools never used on anybody else. They offered a free neck massage then offered 10 min for $10. The massage guy is awesome. I went for 20 min!!! I just couldn't give him up. The music was a perfect relaxing mix of current easy listening from Adele to Sia. I only got a mani but I will be back here for a full mani - pedi very soon!! I moved to Bethel the end of the last year and getting my nails done is just one of those things I feel is necessary. Although I found one salon that's directly across the street from this place. They strictly ONLY go by appointments and take cash ONLY. SO, I decided to go to this place in hopes of a good turn out. The guy who did my nails did ok. I had to let him know that one of my nails looked crooked which he fixed right away. Polish job was good. I usually get a acrylic gel set but not when trying new places so I did regular acrylic. They were a bit pricey. All in all, im unhappy. Here it is 3 weeks from the day I got my nails done at this place and 4 of my nails on ONE hand are now missing. Im walking around looking stupid as ever. Im going to try to go to a different person in this salon. If they don't satisfy me, I will wait once a month to go to Newburgh, NY. Because at my old salon my nails would last me an entire month plus a little longer. Choosing nail salons are tricky. So looking clean is a plus but that doesn't mean the techs are any good especially when in a nice area. I desperately needed to get my nails done and typically by the time I get out of work most salons are closed or are close to closing. My friend researched places in the Bethel area that we could go to after 5:30 and she stumbled upon Dolan Nail Spa. The staffing seemed a little short handed when we went and they seemed busy but it was immediately a relaxing environment the moment we stepped in. The salon is very clean and pretty on the inside and they have a wide variety of colors for gel, powder nails, and regular polish. The woman doing my nails was very friendly and took the time to ask what I really wanted, such as if I wanted my nails cut (this doesn't happen at many salons I've been to and I'm not a fan of when people cut my nails without asking). She did a great job and really took her time and the paraffin wax after my nails were all set was a great added bonus. ***forewarning though, take all jewelry off your arms and hands before getting your nails done. I had a panic attack when I realized she was dipping my hand and my ring was on. I had to scrub my engagement ring with a toothbrush and Dawn for quite some time tonight***. Apart from that though, the price was phenomenal. My local salon in Southbury costs $32-37 for gel depending on if you use a card or not and the salons close to where I work charge $40-45 which is pretty ridiculous. My temperature was taken and the bottom of my shoes were sprayed with disinfectant but the station was not cleaned after the last manicure. They didn't soak my nails first, he started pushing my cuticles back and I had to ask if he was going to put oil or anything on them, which he did once I said something. The drying station was not cleaned after the last person. I asked for the owner and was told they were not there. I called the next day asking for an owner or manager and again no one was available. We went for the first time over the weekend. The two manicurists were disinterested. It was the fastest manicure we've ever had and also the worst. Our nails weren't soaked in water, our cuticles were left untouched, and no lotion was put on our hands. The nail polish was put on far way from the cuticles so it looks like a grown out manicure. I think owners/management has changed resulting in costlier and extremely poor service. I have been going there for a mani pedi service regularly and today she just cut the nails and no massage or even relaxation. Update July 2018. I normally have a very good experience here but this time I had to wait a very long time even though I called for an appointment. I did a regular mani/pedi and while my nails were painted well, she did not spend any time on anything else to help me relax or my actual hands and feet. Even after paying for the additional callus treatment, that night my feet looked like I hadn't had a pedi in months. In addition, she clearly did not do certain things and rushed me through. I know everyone likes different things and every nail tech has their talents, but I do expect for my experience to be relaxing and not just walk out with nicely painted nails that I could easily do myself or get elsewhere. I am very very picky when it comes to my nails/eyebrows, place must be clean and work must be excellent and this place exceeded my expectations. I only did the basic spa pedi and it was marvelous, very relaxing and fab results. For a basic pedicure they do more then other salons, such as parafin heel treatment, hot stone and mask. My legs and feet are smooth as ever and nails look great. Excellent job with my wax eyebrow which I'm very picky with. I will continue coming here without a doubt. Several flat screen tvs, massage while your nails dry, hot towel on your neck or back during pedicure. Highly recommend. The facility itself is basic for a mani pedi salon, nothing over the top luxurious, but everything is clean and presentable and work is A+. I have been a bi-weekly customers for my gel manicure and pedicure for years. I always call ahead and make an appointment. I have been extremely satisfied with the quality of the service, but recently something changed. Even with an appointment they made me wait. Today, I had to wait 20 minutes, then the guy in charge basically yelled at me and at the two other customers waiting with me "you sit here, you sit there" with a tone that didn't match at all the spa atmosphere.
