I had a horrendous experience at this nail salon with Peter and Linda. Linda did my toes and mentioned I had calluses about seven times. She put a menu on my lap where calluses removal meant at least $65 for a Flavor spa pedicure. I opted for a $35 Massage Spa pedicure. When I showed her what I wanted, she pointed to the $65 Flavor Spa pedicure. She did this three times before I had to tell her it was out of my budget and then she accepted my choice. Then, she asked me if that meant I wanted to keep my calluses. I tried to keep the conversation short because it made me feel so bad that she overstepped my boundaries in this way. When my pedicure was done, she passed the receipt to Peter facing down so I could not read it. This is a very poor example of transparency. This led me to not tip for my services. When I wrote $0 tip on the receipt, Peter turned it back to me and asked why no tip. The audacity!?!?! I am already paying a balance that isn't itemized or visible to me, so tipping was unnecessary. He then pulled up a Venmo and put it in my face. I used the bathroom then left the store. Peter, who works at Rainbow Nail and Spa, followed me out of the store and stopped me. He still had the Venmo in his hand and proceeded to asked me to tip 15% which is their policy. He could not show me any written signage or policy saying this. Once again, not itemized or visible to me. He proceeded to aggressively tell me that tips are his wage and his boss takes home all of the profits. Outside of the store he works, and he confirmed I paid my balance. This hostile, deceptive behavior is baffling and was the opposite of a spa. I urge anyone looking for a relaxing environment to go elsewhere. read more
