Depending on who is doing your nails, it's and miss. of the older women are very good a couple of the younger ones if you get a gel pedicure it's coming off immediately. I understand they usually have the B team work on people who are not there every two weeks however, a gel pedicure which is 42 bucks should last more than two weeks considering it's still winter time and you're wearing socks and shoes read more

I was not happy with the service. I made an appointment for a acrylic fill with gel color on my nails and a gel pedicure. While starting my nails, the guy (front right) asked me where I got them done prior, and I told him. He criticized them and said he will fix them up. In the middle of doing my nails, he seemed to be extremely annoyed and switched me over to getting my pedicure done by another worker there. Mind you, my nails were not even shaped or buffed yet, he stopped during the middle of getting them done. When I got my pedicure done, I had acrylic on my two big toe nails because the nails are thin. The lady tells me that it doesn't need it this time, they are fine. In the middle of vacation, my right big toe nail breaks on the side, not just the gel polish on top, my entire toe nail with it. It has been extremely painful. My toe nail has never broke like this before. , During my pedicure, the same guy who was doing my nails in the beginning, took another client in the meantime and wasn't even done when I finished my pedicure. So I had to wait to get my nails finished. Was not a friendly place. He just rushed through my nails at the beginning and when I went back. Long story short, he did my nails worse than what they were before. I am extremely unhappy with how they look. They are so wide, not flat at the tips, all lopsided, did not touch my cuticles and thick when I asked for a thing layer of acrylic. I got these done because I left for vacation the same day. I will not be going back. Oh also, they don't tell you ahead of time that they don't take card, only cash. read more

Let me just start off by saying that I have been coming to this place since I was 11 years old (I am now 23). My mother comes every two weeks, my aunts, and cousins... Needless to say I am more than a huge fan. I come about once a month and my nails last through the very end of that time. I get acrylic nails mostly because I bite them still (yes I know it's a terrible habit) and they last for a very long time. These people are extremely professional and wonderful to be around. They understand when you're in the mood to talk and when you feel like just having a nice quiet day at the nail salon. I've been to other salons where it's either creepily quiet or they talk way too much - it's all about balance and knowing your customer. As for the one person who rated this place as "dirty" and the mani/pedi as "okay", I couldn't disagree more. I have tried several other nail salons and have never had a mani/pedi as good as this one. I lived in NYC and now live in Stamford and STILL come all the way back here to get my nails done. I've attached a picture that shows my nails after almost 2 weeks and you can see that they still look great. My pedicure hasn't been done in over a month but I won't post a picture of that (even though it still looks amazing) because feet pictures are super weird :) Also, this place could not be more spotless. I watch as they are sure to change tools for every single person they see and as they wash and sanitize all their tools. I feel like I could eat food off the floor. I've been here late nights after work and watched as they clean up and let me tell you they are meticulous. One thing I will say is be sure to make an appointment as they tend to fill up and you'll wait a really long time to be seen without one. Even just calling a half hour before goes a long way with them and they'll give you the best time to come in. All in all, if I could give Elegant Nails 15 stars I would because they more than deserve it. read more

Although they took me right away and painted my nails very well it was a bit odd that there was no massage or hot towel afterwards. Not only that they only took cash which was odd as well. The thing that really turned me off was the smell, it seems that they have no central air or circulating air, I got a major headache from the smell and needed to get out of there as soon as possible. There was some little relief when someone came and opened the door to come in, but I don't think I will be returning mainly because of the smell and not taking a card. Also the person who did my manicure just finished doing a pedicure with no gloves on and didn't wash their hands before touching my hands which was another red flag. read more

My mom went there this afternoon to get her nails fixed and one of the owners was so rude to her. My mom asked the man for a simple thing to be done to her nails- he disagreed with what she wanted and told her to leave now. Threatened her that if she didn't leave he would call the cops. For some reason I stopped getting my nails done for a few years but I recently noticed my coworkers beautiful gel manicure that she had done at Elegant Nails. Just a few weeks ago I decided to treat myself to a manicure while in South Beach Miami. That high priced crappy manicure made me miss the beautiful work Andy and his family do at Elegant Nails. I'll always be a loyal customer. They never make you feel rushed or less important than other customers. They always want to please their customers as well. While I was still getting basic manicures years ago, I remember smacking my freshly painted nails against a door taking off a huge chuck of polish on my thumb. I just moved to Bethel from NY and getting my nails done is always a must. So I was a little skeptical trying out a new salon because it never works out well for me. I came on Yelp and looked at the reviews (because I like hearing people's honest opinions). All the salons in Danbury and Bethel besides this salon had horrible to good reviews. This salon had 5 stars and NO bad reviews. So I tried it out. The workers are friendly and welcoming. Only flaw is that they ONLY except cash and they prefer you to make an appointment. So come prepared! I got UV Gel done and didn't want to spend a lot of money at a new salon because I didn't want my money going to waste. For some reason my gut feeling just told me to go ahead and get it done. So I did and a lady named Rachael did my nails. She's one of the sweetest and gentlest technicians that I've come in contact with. She held mini conversations just to get to know who I was (my name, where I was from, if I would make it to work on time because I did come to salon before then). Rachael did a great job. She found the color I wanted and even showed me a second gel color of the same shade so I had options. Perfect! My nails have lasted me two weeks going on three so far (which I didn't think would happen) and my gel is well intact! I will be going here from now on for my UV Gel and its so convenient since its only down the street from where I live. Go here! read more

I have been a customer since the day they opened more than 10 years. To the bad reviews, they have a sign upfront and quite easy to read that says "cash only" so the next time ask if you don't like reading. To the argument about turning customers away, is it possible they were waiting for their next appointment and if they took a walk in that would impact those that actually made an appointment? It is a business and it needs to be run like one! I have nothing but good things to say and if you want to be treated courteously then be respectful of people trying to make a living. read more

I had been a customer for 7 years until my last experience. I had an appointment with Rachel who was not present at my appointment time, I waited for a period of 30 minutes and inquired as to my appointment with Rachel and was told by one of the men that I could leave. I told him that he was very rude and that they just lost a customer to which his response was HA! The men in this place are rude and have no respect for women (must be their culture).
