I got a UV gel fill, and the technician replaced one tip. She mentioned that next time I would need to have them removed because they were grown out, but reassured me they would still last about two weeks. I was charged extra for the tip replacement. Three days later, two nails broke. When I went back, I was told I would need to pay $5.50 per nail because it wasn't their fault due to my nails being grown out underneath. They also said they weren't sure why the employee had told me they would last two weeks. I ended up paying $11 to fix two nails less than five days after my appointment. While another employee did give a short back massage, I was still asked to tip. Unfortunately, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I don't know if it's the person I got but my entire experience felt really half assed, I just got a pedicure and she really didn't care, I got my feet and legs rubbed for like a min maybe , she honestly seemed annoyed I was even there. And no matter how many times I told her the water was burning me she didn't change it or care. Also the bullshit shoulder massage lasted all of 35 seconds. My nails did come out perfectly fine but the experience leading up to it was very lackluster and underwhelming I don't even know why my mom comes here probably because they give you a free 10% off coupon every time to get you to come back read more

This is the BEST nail salon and the only one I go to in this area. I will admit when you first start going there it doesn't seem like the friendliest place but once you get to know Nina and the staff they treat you like royalty. They get busy which is why its hard for walk ins at certain times but if you call ahead even ten minutes she puts your name on the list and i've never waited for more than five minutes. The selection of regular polish is awful. Opi or Essie-brands that always chip quickly. I had a gift certificate, the only reason I was there, and just got a basic mani pedi. My toes seem fine but 24 hours later my nails are already chipping. I've done nothing unusual. The tech also messed up or something on my thumb, and put acetone on her finger and rubbed my nail and proceeded to paint over still wet acetone. She also didn't even wrap the tips. No wonder the rating here is so low. This place needs a major upgrade in service or should close. read more

They have fantastic pedicure chairs, and the extra massage time on a pedicure is worth it. They have a variety of gel nail colors which lasts for at least 2-3 weeks (to stretch it). I received a gift certificate two years ago for my birthday and went for a pedicure and the girl was not only extremely rude, she completely cut off both of my pinky toenails! Atmosphere is nice. Nail tech was nice but the owner was rude when I asked if she had opi gel. They do not. Only shellac which is cheaper and doesn't look as nice. She then told me "it's bad for nails and she doesn't like it" -decided to just get a regular mani pedi, but will not come back. Had the SLN non damaging gel put on my nails that should have lasted for two plus weeks but didn't last for a week. I went in to speak with them to see how to get this corrected. They only will guarantee a week and go against the manufactures guarantee of two weeks. Very rude. No business sense at all with the guy I spoke to who was rude when a call came in and pretended I wasn't standing there at the desk anymore. Save your money. I had a very terrible experience. I went in and I was getting a pedicure and gel manicure that day with my friend. When I was getting a pedicure the women was very rough on my, and everything was very rushed. My pedicure was in total of maybe 15 minutes. Then we moved onto my nails. Just want to point out that my friend was ONLY getting a gel manicure and by the time I was finished with my gel manicure AND pedicure the nail women was still doing my friends gel manicure. I remember the women's name, but I respect her enough to not say it on here. But then when I went to pay I told the person that I left my 20% coupon at home and asked if they could honor it and they just laughed in my face! Owner has a major mean attitude treating her nail techs like slaves. The atmosphere carries over to the clients to the point you are afraid to talk because she gives you a dirty look. I love Nina's. I have gone there ever since they opened and have always received great service. Sure, Nina can be a little gruff sometimes, but that is just her way. She runs a tight, clean salon with employees who, when treated with respect, can be counted on to provide great service. I disagree with the reviews that say the workers are rude. Focused yes, but rude, no. I have no comment regarding getting the nail sets. I have never had that service done. Only mani, pedi, and leg waxing. I love Ninas. I have been a loyal customer for over 4 years now and have used all of her services from Gel nails to tips, pedicures, waxing and massage. Her studio is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and a step up in class from the other studios in the area. I always get excellent service and always love my nails, eyebrows, etc. It makes me sad that people feel that Nina is rude - she is lovely and always greets me with a big smile and "hello". She is a wonderful business woman - and I fully support my local business owners. She always checks my manicurist during my session to make sure that they are doing excellent quality work and frequently offers me special discounts for being a good customer. If you skip Nina's because of a few disgruntled customers (who are all that normally ever leave reviews) then you are missing out on a Newtown gem. read more
