Facial with Gina was outstanding! My massage was not high quality and I was stuck in a makeshift room to the far left of the spa with a table crushed into the room and bright light shining through a curtain- no scents under the massage bed. read more

Extremely DISAPPOINTED in this place. We booked with this place 2 weeks ago, & this was honestly the worst place to get nails done. Highly upset at how expensive it was, & polish was chipping off the next day. I'm not even working right now, so there is no excuse. Not to mention, they did not know how to properly remove gel polish so they scraped it over & now most of my nails are breaking off extremely low. Very very upsetting. Massage was decent. ZERO STARS! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! I thought they were a nice facility and the staff was tolerable enough. I just sat there and tried to relax and not pay mind to the loud and unprofessional conversation I occasionally heard while receiving my services. Now they've really outdone themselves. They have relocated twice and now they have packed up for good and have NO PLANS OF RELOCATING. MY FAMILY HAS THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN GIFT CERTIFICATES TO THIS PLACE. THE OWNER DOESN'T RESPOND! Terrible business. Absolutely unprofessional on so many levels. Not a care in the world for customers that help write their checks and pay (what used to be) their rent. If they ever do reopen and decide not to give refunds, we be using our certificates and my family will never be back. Say goodbye to almost ****$5,000 in annual revenue****!!!! I had an amazing massage with dawn. She is just intuitive and professional. I wouldn't come here for the nail services... They're expensive and I find the polish doesn't last as long as other places. But the technicians are great. This is a definite must stop for facial and massage services. read more

I do not recommend this spa for any reason ever. I have never been treated so despicably in my life. They would not honor my gift certificate for my massage that wasn't not up to par aside from the fact. The CT law states they are to honor any gift certificate issued from the business regardless of year issued. I used an old gift card in April this year and they honored it even though it was several years old. I said that I had another I would like to use also and the owner herself said sure call first before you use it. So I did. I called yesterday and told the receptionist that I had a old gift card to use and asked for availability. She said it would be fine and booked my service which I received that wasn't very good but that wasn't the point. I finished and went to turn in my gift card and tip the masseuse. She then looked at me and said I can't take that. I replied I spoke with you on the phone and you said it would be fine. So very uncomfortably I stood there and she said "well you could not have spoke with me, maybe someone else" so you owe $90. I said can you please call and ask someone else? She said no the owner isn't in.! So I informed her that CT law states you must honor any gift card issued from your business and that they have no expiration. She then got insanely rude and I explained that I'm a single mother with a small child 2 years old and I would not have been able to afford to have the massage that day and I was told I could use my gift card. So bottom line they still charged me $90 and refused to credit me even when I called to speak with the owner. So as I hung up the phone crying at the treatment I received and how they very unprofessionally went against their word, I am urging nobody to use that business for any reason. read more

I have been going to Avance since they first opened, and I continue because the staff is amazing and their products are the best from their mineral make up to the cleansers and moisturizers, and as I am getting older the better products you use on your face the better u look. The facials are beyond amazing with Rita, I could stay for hours and be pampered there! The new place is stunning! read more

Booked a surprise spa day for my daughters bday for 7 women, two weeks out. I even called to review pkgs and appts the day before, to make sure they were prepared for 7 of us. We were completely disappointed immediately as management made us feel like we were "in the way" during the entire experience. Asked to move out of the lounge area in the middle of our services and relocate in the nail salon, where other patrons came in and were serviced while we waited... so awkward!! One massage therapist was clearly a smoker, leaving two in our party with a negative massage experience. The facialist didn't even touch my neck or decloette, which is a very important part of the european facial. Our pricey pkg included a salt scrub manicure, which meant washing your own hands with a scrub and a minute hand massage. Even though 5 of us purchased the same exact pkg. we all received different nail experiences. I was left with parrafin wax and baggies on my hands...the technician literally left! As a professional myself in this industry, I was highly dissatisfied with this day spa. Understaffed, Overpriced, poorly managed. Will never go back. read more
