After doing some research I decided to tour this school with the intention of joining that fall…read more But after the interview I realized that this will not work for me. The school is great and the program seems to be covering a lot of essential subjects. The only problem was that they use tons of essential oils in their skincare and it has to be used on my skin during the course. Any dermatologist will tell you that fragrant essential oils are very bad for skin. It is setting you up for a potential for allergic reactions or sensitizing your skin to UV rays. The source of the essential oils do not matter at all. They are still volatile ingredients. Especially for someone with reactive skin that is definitely not a good idea. When someone has allergy prone skin the source does not matter. It is better to avoid such ingredients. All fragrance whether it is "natural" or synthetic is bad for skin. Fragrance has no place in skincare. Even when using a natural ingredient there are always side effects with volatile ingredients. Lot of people use fragrance and essential oils with no issues. That is not the case with everyone. Dermatologists say that even if you do not seem to be reacting to it immediately there is a higher chance of irritation down the road. I also cannot tolerate scented products. I am very sensitive to scents. For all these reasons, I could not join this school. Seemed like great teachers and a great curriculum otherwise.

After being reminded that "it's economic hard times and they make their money through product sales- hence being able to provide the facials so cheap". I was rudely and bluntly told by the owner that "it's a slap in the face". I have written many a $200-$300 check to this school, just not this particular day. I was treated RUDE. Yes, facials are provided cheaper here because IT IS A SCHOOL. Your students PAY tuition and work for FREE and use my face as their guinea pig. If anyones taking anything in the face it's me!!! And where in the fine print does it say that I'm obligated to purchase product? I don't see anything hanging on the front door nor did I sign a contract. Expect to be treated in relation to the amount of money you will be spending...
