A sandwich establishment that isnt trying to invent the wheel with its standard deli offerings, with plenty of additional offerings. The mixed deli (ham, salami, pastrami) on a hoagie roll is what you would want from a deli sandwich. Id say a texture offering for a sandwich establishment. Their breads here are good, but I can't help to feel the way they toast them leaves them a bit too crispy. Their pickles are a bit mushy, so not sure if they pickle them in house or if it's just a weird batch. read more

Some of the best pastrami and corn beef on rye out outside of New York City and I would take a picture and show it to you, but we will sit down and then they clean the table so I can show you an empty table. If you want authentic New York, this is the place to be In Austin . even though the chef is from New Jersey. read more

Definitely get your sandwich toasted. I loved my sandwich and my friend didnt and I think that was the difference. Coming here is like a step back in time in a way which I appreciate. Dining in is always great because they have super rare New Jersey Sloppy Joes, but the NeWorlDeli team just provided the most amazing cheesesteaks for my Super Bowl party. We love NeWorlDeli! Greg and staff couldn't be nicer. Everything is delicious. My go to is the chicken curry. The portions are large. They even offer "more than a half" which is large too. Tuesday evenings they have live music and it's so much fun. Love this place. read more

What a cute little place! I never new this was here. There is a parking lot behind (if you're unable to find it). A friend and I sat here for hours just chatting after our lunch. I had a turkey reuben and it was delicious! I also ordered an eggplant parm to take home for dinner and it was also great. I want to try more from the menu because it looks like your typical NJ Deli type menu! read more

TLDR: They had no right to make sandwiches this good. This wasn't my first visit to this place, but the first time I've remembered to take pictures and such. This place is truly phenomenal. every time I have been here, they hit top marks. It certainly isn't "cheap", but I wouldn't call it pricey, and the food is well worth it. the Aesthetic is pretty classic deli, a bit cramped, and but the whole place feel comfortable. The Reuben that I had this time was amazing. The sauerkraut is piled high, as is the meat, and the dressing balances everything out perfectly. I'd eat here every day is my waistline and wallet could handle it. 5/5. read more

Their pastrami reuben is a beast. I don't know why I'm surprised, as this neighborhood deli/cafe boasts "old-fashioned sandwiches piled high with fresh deli meat, cheese and all the trimmings"... no false advertising there. Prices are reasonable, mostly indoor seating with a few bistro tables outside (but next to a busy road), Maine Root soda fountain (they currently have a check-in offer on Yelp for a complimentary drink), and lovely folks running the establishment. I had never known this cute deli existed on the drag until my girlfriend performed here. They have tons of gluten free options! This is my favorite gluten free deli in Austin. They have ample parking. I ordered a delicious gluten free tuna melt. The tuna could have used more salt but it was still really good. The customer service is really good. read more

Excellent customer service, even better food! The owner was so patient while we took forever to decided what we wanted. Then he brought us a free basket of fries with our meal. Our sandwiches were delicious but those sweet potato fries are something special!! We visited on a Saturday and they had great live music too. read more

I've lived in Austin for 12 years and this is my go-to lunch spot. Excluding the pandemic, I've had a sandwich from NWD once a week for over 5 years and have never been disappointed. My standard order is the pastrami sandwich on sourdough. My wife enjoys the turkey pastrami Reuben. Others we've brought here for lunch have tried a number of their items and they are ALL WINNERS. Great staff, friendly owners, and a chill atmosphere make this an ideal spot for a casual lunch or quick dinner. They also have live music events on a small stage. My wife and I rented out the main dining area for our rehearsal dinner and Greg (owner along with wife Sarah) put together a great menu for the event. I can't recommend this place enough! read more

Okay, how cute is this place. When you think "local Austin sandwich joint" this place checks off all the categories! Love the "library cafe" vibes and exposed kitchen with jugs of peppers and other condiments spread throughout the register space. Theres a stage in the corner and while I haven't been here during a live set, I bet it really sets the mood! Oh, did I mention they have kickass food too? Sorry, too busy basking in the warm lighting and local art. They've gotta have a killer meatball sub because looking around there are at least four patrons eating it right now *takes mental note to get that next time* In a nutshell, I definitely recommend trying this place out at least once. Corned Beef - Biderman's vs Neworld Deli. Corned beef sandwich n toasted rye with Lettuce, tomato & mayo. First, Biderman's has an odd smell. The sandwich is huge and insides are falling out all over. But the smell is distracting and unpleasant. Very difficult to eat. Corned beef is shaved thin but lacking flavor. Rye bread burned on inside. I don't smell the beef at all. But it tastes okay once past the odor. Sandwich is $14.95. NWD - sandwich is stacked high but controllable. Obviously freshly shaved meat. Home made? Lettuce isn't shaved but layered on. No smell but beef and hellman's mayo. Very moist and fresh. Tastier rye bread with a nice crunch. Sandwich and a nice pickle is $7.95. I won't do Biderman's again. Update: if it smells funny, don't eat it. read more

Hallelujah! After moving here from NYC I've been craving a decent deli sandwich. And this shop met my sandwich needs. I had the tuna melt on sourdough. It came out hot and fresh on toasted bread. Being a NJ native I was excited to try the NJ Sloppy Joe sando, a family favorite. This one didn't disappoint. I got it with turkey and swiss and it was fantastic, like a trip back to northern NJ amidst this pandemic (without all the loud talking and traffic). The coleslaw was thick and crunchy, the rye bread deliciously classic, and just enough russian dressing was added to flavor and meld it all together. Yum! (also, it was big enough for 2 meals) My wife got the avocado sando and loved it, and we shared a broccoli cheddar soup that was just perfectly creamy and flavorful. Highly recommend this spot. We'll be back for sure, and curbside pickup was easy as pie. Also, we love to support a family-run business! read more

Wow wow wow top notch service!!!! I'm not sure if Greg is the owner and/or manager but the kindness and enthusiasm was just the tip of the iceberg. My modifiers on my Turkey club were a breeze for the staff. It's simple, but most people will put my allergies on "by mistake" and then instead of remaking the sandwich, just pick it off. They did it right the first time. Level one passed!!!!! Next stop, checking how everything tasted. Greg was there and ready for feedback AFTER we took a few bites, not as the food hit the table like a lot of places. For a counter service spot, Greg was on it!!! I knew he'd be there if I needed anything or had anything he could correct or improve on. Such a kind soul. I've been coming here for about 10 years, but took a break when it was watching my carbs. I came back recently and had my usual, the Sloppy Joe. Unlike the traditional version, NWD's is basically built like a club sandwich with generous portions of pastrami on one layer and roast beef on the other. The sloppiness comes from their home made slaw drenched in Russian dressing all held together on scratch made rye bread. Give it a try, you'll Like it! read more

NeWorlDeli is a gem. I happened upon this place last year and it's been a favorite ever since. It's a family-owned restaurant, so it has a very homey and welcoming vibe. It's cozy and comfortable and I love it. There is tons of seating and parking. They usually have live music of some sort at night and it's really great. The service is always good--everyone is super friendly and always helpful with the many questions I have. I've never had a bad experience with anyone. And the sandwiches. Y'all. They make GOOD sandwiches. And yes, they have gluten free bread (and even some gluten free baked goods in the bakery case). My two favorites are the curried chicken salad sandwich--the supreme sandwich of its kind in austin--and the grilled chicken deluxe. The curried chicken is the perfect flavor and texture and just so delicious, it hits the spot. Same with the chicken deluxe; it's a simple basic sandwich but so satisfying. I crave it. They got chips and drinks and desserts--and really yummy potato salad. Huge portions. Great quality. This place is your next go-to for a sandwich in the best sense of the word. read more

This might be one of my favorite sandwiches places ever. The first time we went we met the owner - they were extremely friendly and remarked a few times about how long the restaurant has been in business. My favorite is the curry chicken salad sandwich on French bread. Another great option is the Italian, but that is better toasted. One thing to note is most sandwiches come with lettuce, onions, Mayo, and mustard, but you can easily alter it to your preference! read more

This spot is adorable. I stopped by for the first time a couple of days ago and was pleasantly helped by a lovely woman who ran me through some of the sandwiches. The menu is wide but very straight forward. I ordered a tuna melt on rye and a small house salad with a vinaigrette and a soda, which all came out to around 20$. The portions are very generous, the ingredients are fresh, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick bite or a relaxing place to catch up with a friend with soft music and yummy food. read more

I love Neworldeli and I ESPECIALLY love that it's right in my neighborhood! I haven't had a sandwich I didn't like yet, but the turkey club and the eggplant parm sandwiches are maybe the best I've ever had (and I'm from NJ so I know eggplant parm sandwiches). The owner and staff are so friendly and welcoming. I haven't been here for one of their live music evenings yet, but hopefully soon. I'm hoping this place sticks around in Hyde Park for decades to come! read more

They are an outdoor venue - and the night was unseasonably cold. The Zilker Brewery does not control that. 2) It did not help that the first two bands of that showcase stunk up the house so badly I left the the showcase in disgust. (Including the once-good band I had explicitly come to see.) * * * However, as a Yelp reviewer, I do my best to be fair and objective. I ran into the two-bad-beer problem before I hit the freezing-my-ass-off problem and before any of the bands had started playing. So I knew where I stood on the beer before these other distractions emerged. Suffice it to say, I am not coming back here to drink any time soon.

They had space for working virtually as well as displays to test some of the technology. There's a nice balance between indoor comfort and that signature rooftop-style setting, which gives it a relaxed but elevated feel. The staff was friendly and kept things running smoothly, and the overall setup felt thoughtfully organized. Whether you were there to focus on the installation or just take it in casually, the environment supported both. The line was somewhat long to get into the event as it was at capacity and could only allow more people as people were leaving the event. I was given a drink ticket and got to try the Patio Pounder with ilegal mezcal, primo aperitivo, tropical citrus, coconut, grapefruit soda. The bartender was efficient even though the lines were long. The cocktail was enjoyable with the balance of smoky and citrus flavors. They also had a variety of food bites available including chips and queso. creamy street corn, and sliders. The food was gone relatively quickly due to the crowds but it would be replenished periodically. Overall, Upstairs at Caroline proved to be a solid venue for a creative SXSW event versatile, welcoming, and very on-brand for Austin's arts and tech scene.
