Newk's is a great fast casual restaurant that will surely satisfy any hunger pains you have, and I highly recommend it. You can't go wrong with any of their sandwiches or salads! They are all super tasty! Some of my favorite salads include the Salmon Caesar, the Cobb, and the Shrimp Avocado! And, as for sandwiches, you can't go wrong with any of them--like the spectacular Newk's Q, their French Dip, the Italian, and the Club. Ummm... but I hate even narrowing it down to those few honestly because they are ALL good. Like, OMG how could I even leave out the Chicken Salad... OK, I'll stop! But, seriously, you can't go wrong with any of them. One of my favorite things at Newk's is their condiments bar, which features some amazing "toppings" you can add to any of your dishes. These include things like freshly shaved Parmesan, marinated garlic cloves, banana peppers, hot sauces, and croutons! I usually get a ton of the garlic b/c I just can't get enough of it, so maybe don't stand so close to me after I've been to Newk's! Hehe. If you haven't yet tried Newk's, I highly recommend it! Personally, I prefer Newk's for lunch b/c I like more formal settings for dinner typically. But, Newk's will certainly be tasty any time of the day you visit! read more

Staff is usually congregated just left of the register talking all while you are waiting to try and give an order at the register. The ambiance is nothing special. Came to get a to-go salad. Newks Favorite salad was boxed up in the case but not enough greens for my liking, so I ordered one to be freshly made with extra greens. Iceberg lettuce always sucks and should never be used. Greens should include spring mix, romaine, or spinach. Chicken tasted "off." The sweet tea was good. Went for lunch with a friend. We both tried the Margurita Pizza with the cauliflower crust. It was delicious! I especially liked the crispy crust. You would never have known it was cauliflower. One thing which was disappointing, was that there was only a few sprigs of basil. Wish there would have been more. The pizza was a little pricey. I have traveled South to I-20 several times recently and after stopping once at the West Monroe Newk's I have established a regular stopping point there. Each time I have been welcomed by a clean and inviting atmosphere, only to be topped by the efficient and friendly staff members. When I stopped this evening, I was greeted by an outstanding young man who clearly went the second mile to provide a warm attitude along with premium service, which is not a common experience in today's world - I wish I had gotten his name to give him the personal accolades he deserves, what an outstanding representative for Newk's. I ordered my usual shrimp and avocado salad which is always such a taste treat and thrill to my tastebuds; truly fresh and delicious. Also, I might add, that their facilities are exceptionally clean and well managed, providing an all around perfect stop for a hungry traveler. I have been here so many times. And they have messed up my order too many times to count. I've never complained but this most recent visit was the worst EVER. Every employee I came into contact with was rude, spoke over me and acted as if *I* did something wrong. went to eat with a friend and both of our orders were messed up. The employee At front counter genuinely looked as if she was falling asleep (mid-day) slumped over the order screen - eyes droopy, slurred speech, very loud, etc. The manager excused it and said, "she's just young and she's still learning." I honestly can't get enough of this place. I always keep my Newk's cups, so going by the several dozen I've accumulated over the past couple of years, Newk's has been a major part of my eating schedule. In my past review, I've raved about how great the sandwiches and cole slaw are, not to mention the sweet tea. Well, the soups and pizzas are just as great. The customer service is top notch. I've only had one semi-bad Newk's experience, when the employees thought it was more important to stand behind the counter and talk to each other, rather than to wait on the numerous customers who were filing though the door. But this review is on the West Monroe location, and I have never had a bad experience there. In fact, they have built up so much great karma with me, that I could find a tooth in my sandwich my next visit, and they'd still get a 4 star review. There are very few restaurants left in which it seems that the employees actually want to give you great service. Newk's, for me, is at the top of that list. read more
