Very surprised at how good the food was. When we entered for the first time, my wife observed that it reminded her of McAllister's. Came to find out that the founders are the same people that created McAllister's. That being said, Newk's is much better. I ordered the Caesar side salad with Mediterranean pizza. DELISH!! I will definately go back if I am hungry and in the area. The pizza was cooked perfectly and not too greasy. Newk's was great! Went here for lunch after church one day and I was pleased with the variety on the menu. There was sandwiches, pizzas, salads and soups. You order up front and have a seat, they'll bring the food out to you. I had the chicken tortilla soup- it was so meaty and fresh and savory. Plenty of meat and veggies made it so delicious. I also had the club sandwich- it was toasted and was very fresh and I loved the honey mustard. So savory! For a quick, delicious, filling meal- Newk's is definitely recommended. read more

Solid choice for soup and salad or a sandwich, but there hasn't been anything to blow me away here. Soups are the best thing about this place. They also have solid mac n cheese. There is nothing special about their salads though. My husband will often grab us a quick light dinner to go and bring it home. Does the trick. read more

Been to the other locations for many years...clean, friendly environment. The first time to visit Franklin location on Sunday, February 4 will be my last. Very sad to report that during the worst flu season we have EVER had, I watched a server (as well as a man who I believed to be a manager) wipe down table after table with the SAME old gray cloth( looked as though it had been white at one time) At no time did they EVER use a spray bottle with any type of cleanser or disinfectant. The ulitimate was when I saw the man WIPE THE TABLE THEN THE SEAT with the same cloth. This was absolutely disgusting. I will not eat there ever again. Hope the owners read this and talk to their team about the importance of sanitizing. I am sure the health department would not like to see what I saw. read more

I like Newk's - they're somewhere between fast food and a more formal dine-in restaurant. Their sandwiches are good, but their pizzas are even better. It's definitely a great spot to go when you're looking for something better than fast food. I've been here about 4 times and have yet to be disappointed in anything I've had...and that's with different meals every time. Great experience! Wonderful atmosphere with a clean dining area. We had the chili, chicken tortilla soup, club sandwich and a ham and cheese sandwich. The only thing I don't like about this place is the plastic cups you have to use for beverages. The cups ALWAYS feel so very GREASY to the touch on both the inside and outside. I brought my family to Newks on Saturday 3/7/15 for a late lunch. I was very disappointed in how dirty the tables, floor and general dining area was. I witnessed the buser NOT wash the tables. The manager walked by the messy table next to us that had water on the floor, kids high chairs with no kids and food crumbs everywhere. Didnt even stop. At one time there were 5 dirty tables next to us. This was 3pm! Not lunch rush hour. The food was good but I'm always concerned if they keep the dining area dirty what's the kitchen like? We eat here often and bring friends. We all agree the food is very good and the prices are reasonable. You can bring your dog and set on the patio as well. Ok food but seems like it has gotten dirtier. You smell stale dirty carpet. The flatware is not shiny or clean looking. Spilled cheese at the bar. Sad decline in quality. I'd use bleach and mop the floors twice daily. The newer one up in Brentwood is better. read more

Jennifer Dillon, Area Catering Sales and Marketing Manager just happened to stop by our office to speak with us about Newk's catering and left us with a brochure. At the time, we were preparing for an educational presentation for 20 attendees. While we have a regular "caterer" for our events, we stepped out of our comfort zone to order with Newk's. Our company ordered a Deluxe Sandwich Platter for lunch for 20 people. We could not have been more happy. The attendees raved over the sandwiches, pasta salad, and fruit bowl. It was affordable for our team, the food arrived on time, and Jennifer did an excellent job of setting up the lunch table. Newk's is on our "Go To" list. read more

Newk's is one of those great places to take the family as there is something for everyone. The service and atmosphere is good and the food is good as well. I use the word 'good' intentionally as I have been there many times and nothing made me say wow I want to come back get that again. First time going to Newk's..... and last. We ordered two sandwiches and a pizza. The pizza looked decent. The sandwich was missing the meat. Im pretty sure they waved the meat over the sandwich as they were making it. The slaw i had with mine was full of water and the cabbage was soft and mushy. If you are considering eating here try the pizza. If you want to try a sandwich look at the pics they post, subtract the meat and thats what you will get. read more

Newk's has fantastic salads and sandwiches. Their salads are huge, usually enough for two meals. Their sandwiches are so delicious. The Italian is my favorite. They also have personal-sized pizzas. The Magherita pizza is lite and flavorful. Their mac and cheese is exceptional. They also serve bottled beer (and wine I think). read more

Newk's has different salads that you couldn't find most anywhere else. The salads and the sherry vinaigrette dressing is great. I had the lobster bisque today and it's really good. We have Newk's locally so of course it was our go too for lunch while out of town. Let me just say that if this would have been my first Newk's experience ever, I would never ever eat at any location ever. We go in and I order my usual which is the Newk's Q sandwich. I always add lettuce, tomato, pickles and onion and pasta salad as my side. Now let me back up, I was also ordering my sister some chips which shouldn't be a big deal. First, I was told that there were pickles on the round bar, I replied that those were sweet and I would like dill. I was then told that I could not have pickles on my sandwich. I said that was fine, no big deal. So I completed that order and I said I would like a bag of plain chips and a water. "Ma'am, you can only have one side with your sandwich and you chose pasta salad, you can't have 2". I said, the chips and water are for someone else and he approved and said I could add the chips to my order. (Yes I'm serious). My friend behind me ordered a pepperoni pizza, no tomatoes, no sausage, just pepperoni. Her pizza came out with sausage and pepperoni and she told the runner it was incorrect and he appeared to not want to fix the order. He did fix it and I asked for my dill pickles, which they had in the prep area. Also there was blood on the wall in the women's bathroom stall. We will never never never stop here again. You know what Cool Springs needs? A restaurant. What a genius idea to open a new place in the midst of strip mall central. Inspite of a sign that looks like it was drawn by a 7 YO who stole a TGIFridays awning, this place is really quite the standout. With crazy fast service, reasonable prices and a menu that will please even the most persnickity of kiddies and their tired parents, this place is worth stopping at for lunch. You can score a good small caesar salad for under $4, your 'own' pizza for $8 (please save some for lunch or have a good weight management plan in place) or hot sandwiches that are generously sized. Setting this place apart from the mass of other dining options is reasonable prices, solid to very good fare and services that is so freaking fast that there's a reasonable possibility that they are running a meth lab out of the back. I really hope they aren't though, because I want them to stay in business. On the minus side is the sad thought that clearly they wouldn't spring for a much needed graphic artist for their ghetto-esque sign and menu and a paucity of desserts. Overall, go there if only to watch people sprint through cooking at breakneck speeds. read more

Aside from the food, which has always been delicious, I wanted to leave a note of sincere appreciation to Phil, for his over the top customer service. I was caring for my 2 year old niece today ( who has strep throat) and called Newks to place a to go order. I spoke with Phil, and asked if there was any way someone could bring the order out to me so that I wouldn't have to get her out and bring her in with me. Normally I wouldn't expect a restaurant that doesn't have curbside to go service to accommodate such a request, especially during the lunch rush, but I thought I'd ask anyways. Phil told me to give them a call when we arrived and they would help me out. When I called and asked for Phil, they told me he was the owner and sent him out with the food. I am very grateful and would and will recommend Newks to everyone! read more

We've been in the past, but will NEVER be back! We've gone for the reason the kids love the Mac and Cheese. On our last visit, we walked in noticing a hairy dog. My first thought was a guide/service dog. As the kids ate (I couldn't) I just didn't see any characteristic that would fit that type dog. Also, there was nothing on the dog that would reflect a service animal. I gave the restaurant the "benefit of the doubt" but being it bothered me so much, I said something to the manager. Her response was "it shouldn't be a concern of yours". She went on to say, if or if not it was a service dog, the other party was there before us so they had priority. read more

Newks is always a fun place to go for a casual lunch or dinner. They have a wide variety of meals that will please just about anyone's appetite. Their portions are large so even the hungriest man should be satisfied. My favorite sandwich is the Newk's Q which is a toasted baguette with a spicy white barbecue sauce and shredded chicken. So good! Their salads are pretty great as well. The black and bleu is my go to. I'm a HUGE fan of their sweet tea as you can get sweetened tea with splenda! They give you a fun to go cup too! I haven't ever tried their pizza, but from what I have heard they are pretty standard, nothing special but overall taste great. They always have a few cakes or sweet treats to try. My favorites are the peanut butter and chocolate rice krispie treat and the strawberry cake YUM! The restaurants themselves are pretty much the same from location to location. NEVER AGAIN... Our business likes to order here because they have a good selection of sandwiches, soup and salad. We've ordered to-go here at least 5-6 times in the past year and I'm just done with it, no more. Every single time!!!!!!!!!! They always screw up the order in some manner. Today I ordered online for 6 people. They screwed up on 3 orders and a 4th was poorly made. Even when I went in person to pick up the order I asked the register guy to please double check the order, he had another girl do it. She looked at the slip and took half the items out to confirm. She went to hand me the bag I asked, is the mustard on the side - she looked through the bag again, didnt see it and got me one. I got back to the office and immediately noticed they forgot 1 of the 3 bags of chips. Started sorting the items and noticed our caesar salad for $5.79 that we had to pay an extra $6.59 to add grilled salmon - the salmon was completely missing. I wasnt going to worry about the chips because it never fails they ALWAYS miss at least 1 side item, but when we have to pay more for a meat than the salad itself I was going to drive back and get it. Gave everyone their food, called the store and drove back. Once in the store the guy told me sorry they forgot your salmon, for some reason the fish was put in a separate container and they forgot to put it in the bag. When I got in my car I looked in the bag to see the salmon, a tiny thin strip, was very burnt along the whole bottom. Say the fish was 1.5" tall, at least 1/4" of the fish was burnt. We had a client waiting in the office to start our meeting, I didnt have time to wait on Newks to cook a new piece. If anyone knows the area around this location, especially at lunch time, traffic is not so pleasant to drive through. Requested the order be ready by 11:20am and it was already 11:59am by the time I was headed back to the office a 2nd time. When I got back to the office, the lady that asked for mustard on the side told me - the reason they probably didnt have the mustard on the side was because they soaked my sandwich with it. By the time I got to sit down and eat my own salad, I ordered the Ahi Tuna salad - granted the tuna was at least cooked a lot letter than the salmon, but my spring mix was very disappointing. Not sure how a restaurant that is always as busy as this location is cant have fresh salad stocked... I had to throw away most of my spring mix because it was very brown and wilted. I'm so tired of incompetent people that dont care enough to read. Never again will we order here, something always goes wrong, even when you're standing right in front of them while they double check the order, its still wrong. Priced out a competitor for the same items, could have saved us $12, time, gas and a lot of headaches. read more
