The food selections are great here! I've been there this past weekend and I'll say I take mom countless times here. She happens to like the chicken feet and oysters which I don't at all. The oysters are always gone, but they replenish quickly! I'll literally stand and wait for them to replenish and take some for mom. Went here for lunch with a big group of people on a Saturday afternoon. Our group already reserved a spot so it didn't take long for us to get in but we did see a huge line of people outside. We were placed on the side room, all crammed together. It was very very difficult to move around anywhere here, walking spaces is super small you are bound to hit a person or five while you fight for your food in the food area. Anxiety levels are high with the overstimulation from running shouting children and overall crowd chatter. But hey, the food was really good and was one of the cheaper option for buffet. Wanted to eat crabs and oysters which World gourmet always have on a regular day. So disappointed, they only had shrimps and fish. Went today on a Friday, lunch for $18.99, so disappointed. It's been years since we've been back here. We came here since the price was $14-$16/person. On Valentine day this year, the whole family decided to come here for Chinese food. The group was 22 people. There is no reservation so one of us had to come at 4PM to be on the list for 6PM. The line is so long and people are patiently waiting for good food. The price on this special day is $35/person. Yes, it's a $900 meal. There are quite a few dishes for everyone to enjoy, the nice thing is every dish is actually tasty, not bland at all. I started with some sashimi, salmon, tuna and yellow tail. The rolls are soggy and not crunchy due to being out so long or the seaweed wraps not too crunchy. The chicken wings are my favorite, very hot and tasty. The oysters in sauce are great too. I'm sure there are something good for everyone regardless how picky they are. The hot and sour soup I like. The fruit and dessert bar has plenty of things to choose from. The ice cream station is crowded with kids and adults too. There's a cook to order station like in many Mongolian buffet, you choose your noodles, meats, seafood, veggies and they will stir fry for you which is excellent. There are clams, shrimps, snow crab legs which are gone very quickly but refilled fast too. Anyhow, for a few people the $35 is good if you all like these food, but for 20-22 people, $900 can order many excellent dishes in a good Chinese restaurant. I'm down here with my crew on location in the East Bay Fremont area and it's quitin time, so we need to find food for dinner. I always favored buffets for these occasions with multiple people with different tastes, cause everybody gets what they want for a reasonable price. So we pull into this Newark Buffet. From the name you can't tell it's Chinese, but it is. Not like Happy garden or something. We get seated just fine and we all get just water to drink. Buffets are instant food, no waiting to get orders taken or waiting for the food to arrive to the table, just go up and load up your plate! The food here is pretty much standard Chinese buffet selection, with all the standard dishes, like broccoli beef, the general and his chicken along with seafood shell fish, like clams and mussels. All the food was tasty and still hot, no real orphan dishes, you know, the ones that nobody wants and just sits there unwanted? Hi, I came today around 2:30 PM, about 30 minutes before dinner time. I came specifically for the sushi, and I was charged the dinner price. I was completely fine with that because I came for the food, so the price wasn't an issue. However, when I went to get the sushi, the chef gave me a side-eye and told me I couldn't eat it. I explained that I was charged the dinner price, which is why I was getting the sushi, but he stayed completely silent and never apologized. Also, we had only been eating for about 30 minutes when the server brought out the check. We hadn't even had dessert yet. It really felt like we were being rushed out, even though there were a lot of open tables. Do you want to kick the costumers out so bad like that? When I checked out, I also spoke to the person at the front, but I still never received an apology. Originally, I thought this was a sushi buffet I went to several years ago and the moment I walked in, I realized it wasn't. Despite that, I still gave this place a chance, which was a bad idea. Decent place to get your buffer fix. Came on a Saturday for lunch and it was peak hours so waited a little under 30 minutes to get seated. Prices are ok but they do charge you for soft drinks or juices. We weren't aware of this since we were first timers. My favorite was the salmon nigiris, which are always gone so fast so you really need to time it to when the sushi chef brings it out. Sushi section not bad. The baked cheesy mussels were also good. They have someone managing the grill area for stir fry noodles (add whatever toppings you want). The cooked oyster was also pretty good. Horrible, Place has gone down hill and prices have been raised. Came in on a Tuesday around lunch time for my sons birthday because he loves the all you can eat sushi but it was really disappointing. The other food was cold none of the hot food was hot or fresh it seemed like it was from the day before. Website said lunch was 17.99 and I was charged 19.99. My son was supposed to be free because it was his birthday but server said I was supposed to bring his birth certificate it would be nice if they had that posted that information somewhere. Okay, so I meant to make a reservation at another buffet but this place came up when I did a search on Yelp since I was trying to make a reservation for about 20 people. Good thing was they took reservations easily and only a few days out. The person I spoke with was super friendly and said I could increase my reservation the same day (which I needed to do). But when I called the day of our dinner, another person answered and at first said they won't take reservations for same day. But when I told him I already have a reservation, they he said it was okay to increase my number. Upon arrival, I realized I made the reservation at the wrong place. But too late to try and go to my original restaurant. This place was packed like crazy outside. But, good thing I made a reservation. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation time and they said to give them a few minutes to get our tables ready. They sat us in their only back room and was super accommodating. The buffet itself was good quality food. But again, busy. And they told me we only had 1.5 hours of time. With a party of 25 people, we wanted to mingle, so we made the most of it. Their coconut shrimp, bbq pork, and broccoli and beef were the best foods. I liked their nigiri but some pieces tasted lukewarm as if it was sitting out for a while, and I felt like they should have offered wasabi and ginger for the dipping sauce. Things got worse at the Mongolian BBQ grill area, where I saw the cook take food that had fallen onto the dirty counter and put it back into its container. That level of unsanitary handling was shocking. The food itself was okay, but it's hard to enjoy a meal when you're worried about the overall hygiene. One of the four had uncontrollable diarrhea 2 hours after eating and claims he couldn't control his body temperature.
