I attended a funeral reception here. Our group was 125+ people and we had the banquet room towards the front of the restaurant. It's Asian and American food with a lot of seafood dishes, including sushi. They had the Asian staples such as noodles and rice which were good. American type food was ribs, chicken fingers, and I believe I saw hot dogs. There is definitely a variety to choose from, and they also have a stir fry station. Some of my favorites were the dim sum, fried shrimp, and crab type dish in a shell. They have several fruits and desserts. They had my favorite- almond cookies. Also soft serve ice cream! Service in the room was quick with plates being bussed and refilling drinks. The restaurant is decorated nicely with a small water feature and koi fish. Great place for large events.

Had me waiting for so long, rude service, not good at all. Food was cold and stale. I rather eat my cat's feces. Her name is cheese and dumps HUGE loads Lonely ambiance too :(

I got here. The sushi was not fresh. The salmon was hard and dry. The ribs that they had were beef and the pork ribs were nasty Everything was not all up to far like I thought for the price at 2799 a person you would think that it was a taste bitter, but the taste here was not all that great. The clams were good. The crab was OK just was not happy with the food. I asked the person at the front about it and she said we can put fresh food out. Can we open the dinner up at four? We're here at five something and nothing was hot. Second time here I don't remember the first time. I just know it's not good. I do not recommend this place.

    Very poor customer service, 0/10

First time trying Too Good To Go. Don't try this place. This staff was behind the desk was HELLA rude. Did not look up once to acknowledge my of the people behind the desk. All of whom were waiting patiently and quietly. He walked off briskly without acknowledging anyone. I turned the corner thinking maybe, just maybe he doesn't look up much. He made eye contact with me as I attemped to lift my phone to show him the page and rudely waved me away while sharply saying, "I know I know, go back over there" and pointed to the front desk area. He returned to the front desk and ignored everyone there. I've never been here before and would recommend avoiding going here and spending a single penny.

It's been quite some time since I've been to World Gourmet Buffet. This last time I went for my niece's graduation party so I technically didn't pay for the meal and funny enough I didn't really eat much which was my loss I guess. But for a variety of food, it's not a bad spot to try. L O C A T I O N World Gourmet Buffet is located on the corner of Stevenson Blvd. and Albrae St. There's a fairly sizeable parking lot but it is shared by other restaurants and shops in the same plaza. We came before the place opened to help with set up so we easily found a parking spot. When we left, it was pretty full but I think that's also because there were other large groups dining here. I N S I D E They had a tables inside for the main dining area and two larger rooms for larger parties: one in the front and the other in the back closer to the food. There were restrooms also inside. F O O D They basically have 5 separate setup areas for food. And they're pretty good about grouping similar items together. They have an area for sushi, mongolian bbq, chinese, desserts, and other items. They also have crab legs and shrimp if you're a person that likes that stuff. I stuck to the sushi and got some fries and chow mein this last time we went. I wish I got a chance to sample more food but I kind of ended up getting caught up in conversations. Anyways, the sushi wasn't bad at all. If you're into California based rolls. They're fairly sizeable too. The fries were crispy and seasoned. I kind of wish I got more. The chow mein was okay. Nothing to rave about. I did get a chocolate vanilla ice cream cone and although it was icy, I did appreciate they had sugar cones to put the ice cream in which was a treat. I also got a cream cheese wonton which was a little too full of cream cheese to my liking but perhaps other people like that it's filled. I wish the filling wasn't just cream cheese but I understand they want to cater to non meat eating folks. I didn't get any other dessert as they're the typical sheet cake items that I've seen at other buffets and they're not great to be honest. They did have fruit also and soups. I just didn't get a chance to eat any of it or even partake in the made to order mongolian bbq. S E R V I C E I felt like there could've been better refilling of water but I understand they were busy. But overall, folks cleared empty plates pretty quickly which was nice. O V E R A L L Not a bad option for asian style buffet and I believe the prices weren't too bad either. It's not as big as other better known buffets but for the price, it's not too shabby. I think we might come back just for the sushi. Definitely try them out!

Food wise they have a lot of options to choose from! My personal favorite are the sea shells! The crab legs are pretty good but I do wish there was more seasonings. I would say the fried dumplings or potstickers aren't the best but everything else is pretty much fine! It's just like any other buffet. It's around 26 for dinner time so the price is alright I think most buffets charge around that price frame. The buffet itself is pretty and I love seeing the koi fish!

We went to a friend's Celebration of Life at World Gourmet Buffet. They have a large parking lot so there are plenty of spaces. The decor is asian with a nice fish pond in the restaurant. The place is spacious, so a good place for large parties, receptions, etc. They offer chilled seafood, sushi, sashimi, dim sum, soups, mostly asian cuisines, fresh fruit, jello, and desserts. A good variety of choices to choose from. Overall, 3.5 stars. I was pleasantly surprised.

Food was 10/10!! We went in for Easter with a party of 17 and were seated right away! The service was AMAZING considering how big our party was! Tables dishes and silverware were all very clean. Staff was incredibly welcoming and even allowed our kids to feed the koi fish I truly don't understand why this place only has two stars!!?? Definitely deserves 5! Will definitely be coming back! Also kids eat free every weekday!!!

Not sure why this place has such bad ratings, it's a buffet so expectations are always low for me haha. I'm just here to get full on a variety of food and I do appreciate that this buffet had some interesting dishes like spicy sole filet and casino scallops (was not a fan, though). The broccoli was SO well cooked, I was very surprised. The sushi was alright, some hard rice on some of the rolls. I had no problem with the quality of the sashimi, it was edible. I came here twice, both for special events, and I had a good time both times. Very convenient. You order your drinks from the servers, I kinda wish you could get your own drinks though. My favorite stuff was the fried stuff, can't go wrong with a chicken wing. Also the ice cream with the cake cone--yum! I also liked that we were in a plaza and near a plaza that had boba if you want to keep the party going. Plenty of parking.

Tried this place from too good to go and it wasn't bad! We got a huge plate of food that consisted of dumplings, chow mein, sushi, chicken wings, orange chicken, mushrooms, and red bean paste desserts. The food tasted a bit bland and mushy and it what I would be expecting from buffet food but it satisfied my cravings for Chinese food. The red bean paste dessert was my favorite as it was chewy and not too overpowering with the red bean flavor. Overall, this is a decent option as we got a ton of food for $6.99!

Is the tips mandatory at your buffet restaurant?

If you have a big party, usually over like 6 people they usually add on a tip regardless. But if it's just you and a small party, it's not mandatory but personally I think it's not right to tip barring a really bad experience.

The group was 22 people. There is no reservation so one of us had to come at 4PM to be on the list for 6PM. The line is so long and people are patiently waiting for good food. The price on this special day is $35/person. Yes, it's a $900 meal. There are quite a few dishes for everyone to enjoy, the nice thing is every dish is actually tasty, not bland at all. I started with some sashimi, salmon, tuna and yellow tail. The rolls are soggy and not crunchy due to being out so long or the seaweed wraps not too crunchy. The chicken wings are my favorite, very hot and tasty. The oysters in sauce are great too. I'm sure there are something good for everyone regardless how picky they are. The hot and sour soup I like. The fruit and dessert bar has plenty of things to choose from. The ice cream station is crowded with kids and adults too. There's a cook to order station like in many Mongolian buffet, you choose your noodles, meats, seafood, veggies and they will stir fry for you which is excellent. There are clams, shrimps, snow crab legs which are gone very quickly but refilled fast too. Anyhow, for a few people the $35 is good if you all like these food, but for 20-22 people, $900 can order many excellent dishes in a good Chinese restaurant. We may not be back here for another fee years although the food is great the service is very attentive and fast.

Went today on a Friday, lunch for $18.99, so disappointed. Service 7/10, we were barely there an hour and they served the check. Ambiance was ok, casual dining, not a lot of people. Lots of tables available, place is clean. Won't dine here anymore. I like world gourmet because of the oysters and king crab legs on a regular weekday lunch for $19.99. Lesson learned, at least I tried them. Also, their chicken wings were kinda tasted old, not fresh. They have chicken feet but it had no taste and It was hard. They have a nice sushi section.

LENT 2026: GOOD FRIDAY LUNCH…read more The first time I ate at Toro Sushi Stone Grill & Bar was the last Saturday of February for my mom's birthday. We had a private room for the party. Out of food that was served I really enjoyed eating the sashimi, which was presented on a platter. I also liked grilled salmon. During Lent I wanted to come back to Toro for lunch. I thought about getting sashimi or grilled salmon when I came back. A couple days before coming to Toro for Good Friday lunch I looked at the menu online. Why pay for the dishes I ate before? One of the dishes that intrigued me was the baked unagi fried rice. However the baked salmon fried rice sounded enticing. Also one of the appetizers sounded interesting was the sashimi pizza. My plan was to order an appetizer and an entree for Good Friday lunch. On Friday when I got a table I looked at the menu. The lunch special listed unagi don. Then I started thinking to myself. Why do I have to eat only fish on Fridays during Lent? Vegetables are permitted during Lent Fridays. I looked at the salad menu and one item intrigued me was the avocado salad. Instead of getting a sashimi pizza for an appetizer I choose avocado salad. Knowing a salad would not be filling I ordered the crispy salmon skin roll. For entree I ordered the unagi don. I'll start with the crispy salmon. A lot of people don't like to eat crispy skin of a fish. I love it. The crispy salmon skin roll is a filling roll due to the sauce, which adds flavor to the rice. Instead of a roll I would like to see crispy skin salmon as an appetizer as it would be similar to a chicharron. Regarding the avocado salad I liked how avocado wasn't skimpy in portion. There's one thing I don't like in salad and that is water. I understand cleaning the lettuce to get rid of the dirt, but the lettuce better be dry instead of water dripping at the bottom on the bowl. I came here for the unagi don. I felt I made a right decision of ordering the unagi don instead of the baked unagi fried rice. With the steamed rice I could taste the eel whereas the fried rice would've overpowered the eel. The unagi don was a filling dish and I believe if I ordered a baked unagi fried rice I would have felt bloated. On this last Friday during Lent I enjoyed my lunch at Toro Sushi Stone Grill and Bar. I liked the sashimi that was served for my mom's birthday party than what I ordered during Good Friday. I can see myself coming here again. Maybe next time I try the stone grill items.

For the AYCE sushi restaurant, it was good but not exactly mind-blowing. The fish and seafood variety didn't taste like the freshest quality, and after a while, a lot of the rolls started tasting the same. For around $45 AYCE, I personally think there are better options out there. Some of the skewers came out burnt. Takoyaki was 1/5, you can skip on taht. But that being said, the service was really good. The lady serving us was super friendly and attentive, and overall the staff was kind and welcoming. However, there was only one other table besides ours at the time, so I'm not sure how service would be during peak hours. Now the cafe side, I loved it. The vibe made me feel like I wasn't even in Hayward. The sandos were really good, and the matcha looked amazing. I'd definitely come back for the cafe experience alone. My biggest concern though is the elevator situation. It wasn't working during our visit, and I heard it hasn't been working for quite a while. It honestly made me wonder how elderly or mobility-impaired guests are supposed to dine there. That definitely seems like something that needs attention.
