Very bad experience. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was too disappointing not to share. We ordered dinner for a family of 4 adults and 1 child, including a lasagna dinner, what was supposed to be a chicken Alfredo, 20 wings, and a 16-inch pepperoni pizza. We also left a tip. The problems started immediately. The lasagna portion was surprisingly small and came in a small round foil container. The chef salad was served in the same size container. I ordered a chicken Alfredo, but no one told me they didn't offer it. Instead, I was charged for a fettuccine pesto Alfredo and an additional $2 for chicken. When we got the food, there was barely any chicken in the pasta. The chicken wings were also very disappointing. They tasted like frozen wings that had simply been reheated, they were also small in size and most of our family didn't enjoy them. While we were waiting for our pizza, we snacked on a few wings because we had already been there for an hour and a half. My husband finally went to ask about the status of the pizza, only to be told that it had never been ordered because the employee forgot to charge us for it. We had been asked what kind of pizza we wanted when we placed our order, so we assumed everything had been entered correctly. At that point, the employee asked if we wanted to order the pizza. After waiting 90 minutes, we were still hungry and completely frustrated, so we declined and left. What disappointed me the most wasn't just the mistakes--it was the complete lack of customer service afterward. There was no apology, no attempt to make things right, no offer of a discount, refund, or even a simple acknowledgment of the inconvenience. Mistakes happen, but how a business responds to them says everything. Unfortunately, after this experience, I can't recommend this restaurant nor will I be back again. See my old review. Years later, fast forward, New York Pizza moved in a new location (better too - right next to the 91 Freeway on Van Buren and Indiana) where that Mexican resto used to be. After many many times of passing it, I finally gave in to the whispers in my ear hahahah. I ordered a thin crust pepperoni pizza and their wings. I was nervous because I didn't want to have that bad experience again. First, the staff was very very nice and helpful. I did mind waiting a bit because staff said they make everything from scratch. At home, we opened the box of pizza. AMAZING!! It was still hot (well I'm only like 7 min away lol); but the quality and taste - two thumbs up. This location moved from the original spot on Van Buren. I'd eaten at the OG spot YEARS AGO and I remember it being BOMB. It's in a nice new location now on the corner of Van Buren and Indiana. Thought we would give it another try. First of all the menu doesn't have actual pictures of their food up on it: It has AI-generated pictures which was an extreme turnoff. I want to see the food you're gonna be serving me. We ended up getting one pie and wings and dinner was $70. Wings weren't anything special. Honestly, the pizza was not worth the money, in my opinion. And it was just a weird vibe in there. I made a pick up order this evening for a party size pizza. I made it clear I wanted 1/2 only cheese and 1/2 pepperoni. The girl who took my order even confirmed and repeated it back. She said 20 min so when I arrived it was not ready then she said another 10 min. There was at least 5 other people sitting waiting and asking for their orders. I've been wanting to try this place out for years, since its original location. It was more of an incentive now that it moved to its new nicer looking location. Today was finally the day. Ambiance was fine, clean and plenty of seating for families and couples. The place has music booming which is not my cup of tea. The cashier was patient as it was clearly my first time there. He took the time to repeat the order back a couple times. I ordered one 10 inch pizza w pepperoni, jalapeños and light cheese, 10 classic buffalo wings well done and one medium drink. I first gave these guys a try when my boss and I were looking for a quick bite in between meetings. We work for the county/edu department. He had the lasagna and I had their Italian sub. We both were very happy with our orders. You could tell the food is make from scratch and not rushed, that is some legit sauce. I returned with my family and we tried the pesto Alfredo, spaghetti and one of their pizzas. Everything is great, my only reason for the 4/5 rating is the pepper in the pastas were a little heavier then my daughter and I are use to but that is more an us thing. We will be back! This place was terrible. The food was fine (nothing special) but the service was awful. The personal n that took my order was not friendly in the least. I ordered a large slice of pizza. Thing is, I know I'm there for the low priced tacos. New York Pizza is high priced pizza (compared to Domino's, Pizza Hut, etc). Definitely not there for the seating or atmosphere. No customer restroom, that I could see. Service: 3 stars. Medium. Not great but not bad. They stay in their food prep area and let us know when our order is ready. Value: 3 stars. Good news is they sell by the slice so I didn't have to buy a whole pie to sample. A slice of cheese pizza is $4 and change, about $1 more for pepperoni. It is about the size of a Costco cheese pizza slice but twice the cost. Quality: 5 stars. It costs twice as much but tastes twice as good, can not say that about everyplace. I think they put all their money and attention into the food. Freshly baked taste. Sauce was a hit. Crust is to my liking. Cheese tasted different then mainstream conventional pizza places but I welcomed the new taste. Variety and a flavor I have not tasted before is a big reason I eat out still. The other is convenience and great value. This is one of those places one is better off pickup from or ordering delivery form. I would order here only if I was in the mood for a better tasting pizza for the cost. A pizza that costs twice as much should taste twice as good if I want my money's worth and they did it. When I want to pay for that, then that is the only reason I would order from New York Pizza. I imagine coming back to try their other menu items. Curiosity compels me to sample their sandwiches, maybe their pasta. I have heard good things about it from the girl who works down the street at In'n'Out Hamburgers. I Use to come here because they had great food, but lately I've mostly been coming here for the convenience and close proximity to my home, and good hours of operation. After placing a phone order today using a mailer coupon, I was a bit disappointed at arrival to find out they wouldn't honor the price without the hard copy coupon I had used when placing order (which I had forgotten to take with me). Doesn't make sense that they would lose a customer for not having a copy of a coupon, but I digress. A place for pizza when the really good Riverside pizza shops like D'caesaro and DeMatteo's are closed or out of your way.
