Went with my SO to have a good indian meal after long time. The overall experienced was mixed. In short, if you are looking for authentic dum biriyani this ain't the place. For starters we ordered - Chicken Majestic. It is perfect 5/5. Had a great start with this item and set expectations high. The chicken was tender and the gravy/cream is yummy and thick. For main course - Goat dum biriyani - It is definitely not dum style. They cooked rice separately and mutton pieces separately and mixed it. The taste is good but this is definitely not dum. Also, has lot of oil. I would rate 3/5. We ordered some tea for togo. It was bad no tea spice or anything. It was bland and worse part is it was unfiltered hated the tea dust all over in the mouth. 1/5. The ambiance is sub par, can make some changes to make it look better. Once you enter the restaurant there wouldn't be anyone to receive. We'd need to walk all the way inside towards the pickup counter to make our presence known. read more

I would say this is my favorite biryani in Austin (just a bit more flavorful than the competition and the chicken seemed more tender--or maybe I was really craving Indian food that day). I thought the gobi manchuria was quite good too. Oh yeah, the naan! The garlic naan was fantastic! I really liked how the outside was a little crispy and the inside was doughy and soft. I happened upon this restaurant because it's located around the corner from my mother's house, I was hungry and needed to gas up the rental car. And, what a lovely restaurant I stumbled upon. I ordered the chicken biryani and I promise you, it was the best tasting biryani I've ever eaten. And, I love Indian food. Almost made me want to move home. Ok, that's going a bit too far. The food we got was Beef Nihari, Mango Lassi, and Chicken Tikka. The Beef was so tender and meat easily fell of the bone. Chicken Tikka was delicious with the sauce that was provided. The mango lassi is a classic to get at Indian restaurants and we found the mango lassi to be thick but still very good. The service was great and very accommodating. The place was pretty empty but they had very nice scenery. I did get lost going to the bathroom and coming back but other than that, I recommend this place! read more

We came here in December, during the restaurant's anniversary celebration. My, what a fortunate thing we did. From the music and the atmosphere, to the absolutely delicious food, to the incredible price point, we were blown away by this restaurant. One of the things I really appreciated was that there was a sampling of banana milkshakes for folks as they waited in line to queue for the buffet options. The milkshake was cold, rich, and sweet, and it ended up being perfect for quelling the heat on some of the spicier dishes. The two stand out dishes for me were the butter chicken and the fish curry. This restaurant's butter chicken was exactly what butter chicken curry should be. The meat was juicy and tender and the sauce was not too spicy not too salty -- just perfect. The fish curry, on the other hand, was definitely too spicy and it was great. I'd recommend getting a bowl for the fish curry, in order to get enough of it. The final thing to note was that the value really was there. Even with bottled waters, it was under $25 for the two meals. This weeks get super busy during lunchtime, so I recommend coming before 11:45 AM or after 1 PM. There are definitely people waiting outside to get in. I can understand why. read more

This North Austin buffet restaurant (lunch) satisfies! One of my biggest grievances for Indian Buffetts are that they're usually watered down and bland for the "white folk." This was not the case here. When we walked in and noted that everyone on the restaurant was Indian, so obviously we felt right at home! The buffet line was crowded (good sign) and everything was fresh, hot, and being refilled. Special for their opening, they had some big Biriyani pots which were good enough to come for on their own. Everything here was great and I wish I could have taken a nap afterwards and dreamt of pillowy naan and tasty curries. I've been craving really good chicken dum biryani for a while and happened to find this place! Combed through photos and reviews and decided upon coming here. Their sitara chicken dum biryani is honestly *the* best biryani I've ever had. Super tender and flavorful chicken. And they definitely don't skimp on meat portions which I appreciate. My only grievance is the spice level can be inconsistent. A medium was extremely spicy...mainly the chicken seems to be rather extra spicy vs the rice. I've also had the pleasure of trying their channa masala with bhuture and it was so so tasty with onions. Their chicken 65 was also really tender and flavorful. It'd be nice if was just slightly more cooked for a little crunch. The masala dosa was really good and paired well with their sambar. All in all this place was super well rounded in all the items we ordered. Really looking forward to coming here for the years to come! read more

I really enjoyed this place. It's a little odd because no one is there to greet you and you order up at the counter, which to me is counterintuitive, but it works. I loved the balance of flavor in the chicken tikka. My wife had the mussaman curry and she enjoyed that too. I wish we lived closer to there so we could come more often.
