The guy on the phone said 9pm and hung up before I could even book a reservation. I called back , asked for a reservation, he said I don't need one and hung up abruptly again. However, because this place had a good rating, we tried it out. The food was mediocre. But the service was abysmal. They really do not make you feel welcome at all. I don't usually leave poor reviews, but having Strong customer service is something I value having worked in the service industry before. i went to new sitara today after a long time. the food was late, under cooked. we didn't have enough time to take eat in for lunch as it was already 25 mins late. mind you, that's just one curry and one rice. the food was brought, with rice caked to the side of the bowl. the servers din't have food handling skills and the staff were not trained in proper procedures. when they packed my food, they didn't give me any fork or spoon or napkins. I had to go back and get some and the guy with his fingers, grabbed some and handed them to me. he didn't have any gloves on and didn't exercise any presence in handling the utensils. I am very disappointed in the service today and I don't feel it's worth my $12 for the food today. I will not return for lunch anytime soon. my recommendation is as follows: -please train all staff in handling food. it is utmost importance. -follow proper order procedure and manage the restaurant well. -ensure food is served properly, and presentation is clear. -food must be served just like it is pictured in the menu, not otherwise. food was tasty, nothing against the cooks. read more

Their buffet is pure heaven. We went on a busy Saturday so we expected delay but we were seated fairly quickly. The sheer variety in their buffet was outstanding. Items were fresh, tasted very authentic and comprised both South and North Indian delicacies. I have not been to such a satiating buffet perhaps in the US. Standouts: Their double ka meetha melted in my mouth. The pani puri was astoundingly good and the samosa chaat was very flavorful. The masala chai was perhaps the best I have had in a long time. Don't go! We went for the Sunday buffet. Online it was open at 11:30, but we got there at 11:23 and their open sign was turned on. We were told they were not ready, have a seat in the waiting area and it would be 5-10 minutes. After waiting over 30 minutes, we sat ourselves because the waiting area was overflowing with people and the new arrivals just started to seat themselves! There was no announcement that the buffet was open, but people were tired of waiting and just went and got food. Not all of the dishes were put out because they were prioritizing their catering business. Everything was labeled nicely with the name of the dish. Some hot dishes were served cold or warm. Some dishes they served you to do portion control the biriyani was like that. Very little chicken in the biriyani but it was delicious. I used to be a fan of this place but yesterday nights incident disappointed me a lot and would never visit or recommend this place to anyone. We used Uber eats to order our food. The delivery was fine and food was delivered on time. But it all went downhill from there : 1. We ordered 4 biryanis but only got 1. 2. We called up the restaurant. They admitted their mistake (but gave a lame excuse of having too many parallel orders) and got someone to deliver the missing food. 3. The person came in another 40 min (it was 10.45 in the night already) but without any apologies for their mistake. When we asked for some compensation for the goof up, his exact comment was "You guys never change". So basically, first they mess up the food order and if we ask for any compensation, we are the ones who don't change. 4. We tried calling up in the restaurant to report this person's behavior but they kept on declining our call. 5. To top it all, the food was too spicy and basically flavor less except red chillies. Hats off to you sitara. We will never change and we will never visit you again. There are many other better options available for better food and courteous service. read more

I normally do not write reviews but the humiliation that we had at this restaurant is worth sharing to all .Last week we were at the restaurant for lunch , registered our name and waited for our turn . When our turn came the restaurant guy ( a middle aged guy wearing spectacles ) asked us to wait and called another family who came after us . The other family was courteous enough to acknowledge we came before them . Once seated we waited for almost 15 minutes and by the time the other family also got their table . The restaurant guy intentionally took the order from the other family and didn't take ours . He only took our order only when we insisted ! We got the food served except for a vegetarian food , dosa my wife ordered . When we enquired this restaurant guy told that we never ordered dosa . He shouted in front of all the customers that he repeated our order back to us and it was our fault . He also told that the kitchen is closed now and he can't do any thing .When my wife told she is a vegetarian and couldn't eat any another food , another restaurant staff ( a lady ) felt sorry about the situation and got her the dosa . Part 2 : We left the restaurant after lunch, and my wife forgot her bag at the restaurant because of all the fiasco. When we reached home my wife got a fraud alert that her card is being used and realized she left her bag in the restaurant . So we came back and got the bag but to our surprise noticed that all her 5 credit cards have been stolen . When we told this , the restaurant guy mentioned that it is our responsibility and he can't do any help . We acknowledged that we take the responsibility but requested that we talk to the owner also to review the cctv cameras. He immediately claimed himself as the owner . So we decided to call the police and when the police came the real restaurant owner came and this restaurant guy was no where to be seen and we felt this very strange. Worst experience ever. The food was never delivered to the table even after sitting for an hour and at last had to cancel the order and leave without eating. Went on a Friday evening (Nov 12th 2021) to try the food. It was 7PM the crowd was okay. Ordered couple of appetizers (Sheekh Kabab and Apollo Fish), Naan and Curry and asked for egg fried rice without vegetables but the waiter said he cannot make any customizations because they are very busy so had to cancel egg fried rice. Togo orders were going pretty fast looks like they're mainly concentrating on to-go than the dine in people. After 30mins wait got one appetizer and after that waited for another 30mins and no food at all. Asked the in charge person and he keeps saying 5 more mins 5 more mins but later when we asked again he said he just sent the ticket inside and asked us to wait it's already an hour and we got really frustrated and had to leave without eating. This is one of the worst experiences in my last 15yrs in US and I'm never coming back to New Sitara again. Also will also let my friend know about this. Be forewarned if you can't tolerate spice, the food does run on the spicy side, which is a huge + for me as I normally don't like buffets because everything is too mild even in traditional dishes that should be spicy. Aside from the flavor, I was pleased with the large selection or should I say variety of dishes offered. Besides your typical Indian buffet offerings, there was also biryanis, freshly made dosas (with all the chutneys!) and a samosa chat bar! For the price, they also give you a bottle of water, you have access to masala chai and mango lassi at no additional charge. They had both my favorite Indian desserts, rice pudding and gulab juman. We drive all the way from Georgetown to pick up food from here. This is THE best Indian food I've had since moving from LA. My husband is British and he absolutely approves of how delicious the food is . I always order a mild butter chicken or masala and It's one of those things that if you reheat the next day it will still taste Amazing. We also tried the malai kofta, methi malai paneer and garlic naan. The malai kofta and garlic naan were good, but the methi malai paneer lacked methi flavor. The methi malai paneer gravy was essentially the same as the malai kofta. I would give the chole bhature one star, the malai kofta and garlic naan 4 stars, and the methi malai paneer 3. Sitara is just superb. The service is excellent, the atmosphere is fresh and the staff is enthusiastic and on top of their game. We went for the Sunday lunch buffet which was well priced ($13.99) and had a huge variety of excellent food. There were all the standard Indian dishes you would expect (daal, chicken curry, etc.). What made it special were the three massive pots of three types of biryanis (with full service), the pani poori live counter, the fresh sorbet and the delicious chai. You could tell that the folks running this place cared deeply about the details and weren't just doing the same old thing. Oh and the place was jam packed too. Will be back again! read more

Vow surprised!!! The best buffet I had in my 11 years in USA journey. I have roamed to multiple places but the best buffet ever. I don't even find so many options in an India buffet. I have eaten fresh dosa, pani puri, Mutton biryani was ultimate. 10 types of sweets vow and that laddu, gulabzam, rasgulla, ravva kesari, many more sweets. Paya, liver fry, crab curry, Mutton, vammo my stomach is full. Never had such an awesome food. I love the passion they served food, pani poori, biryani.
