Actually a really good place! I was a little skeptical as it didn't even seem open at the time, & there wasn't very much action going in & out, but i'm so glad i decided to give them a try. The lady working the counter was extremely nice & very thankful for my tip as if she doesn't receive very much tips which makes me a little sad, as she was such a delight that i even went back the very next day for another plate of chow mein. We always have to go with the pork chow mein whenever we go someplace & let me tell you it did NOT disappoint! We also got a side of spring rolls which were decent, but one day we'll go back to try the other options they have. Make sure you order ahead if you don't wanna wait 10-15 minutes as everything is made freshly. Amazing hole in the wall find.

Chow mein just the way you want it yummy yum yum

New ocean is a great place to go it's cozy it's comfortable and I always have a smile on their face I highly recommend them I gave them a $5 if I could give him a 10 I would give him a 10 because of their tasty food they have so many selections of Chinese food you could pick out of their hospitality is top 10 plus it's a place that you bring your friends and family to kick back enjoy their meal and to just chat or enjoy each other's company this is a place to be comfortable and their food is excellent should try them if you love Chinese food this is a place to go cuz their food is real tasty and the ones that you do bring there will be content and happy that you brought them there so try new ocean you won't regret it their hospitality is top 10 so join me to new ocean you won't regret it you leave there with a smile

i've been coming here for several years now, and it is still one of my favorite chinese restaurants in the newark area. the food is really good and the service is amazing too. the owner always comes out to personally make sure we enjoy the food and the ambiance is a nice family owned restaurant vibe.

Ordered takeout here since it's close to my house. Ordered over the phone and it was ready in 15 minutes. Quality and taste was decent! Price and portions were fair. Would order here again.

This place is my always go to Chinese food when I need my fix. I usually order the hotnsour soup, sweet & sour pork, mongolian chicken, walnut prawns and their salt pepper chicken wings with extra steamed rice. I go so often that the lady remembers my order and often offers me a free drink. My picky toddler loves their food as well so it's a win win!

You order via your phone and for each item, you can expect to pay $2-7. Ex: cabbage is $2.50~ and beef is $7.50. Our party of four had our bowls averaging about $20 per person. The portions were good for the price and you get plenty of food. I don't know the weight, but definitely was filling and I typically get 1.8 pounds at other malatang shops which can cost more. They had all the typical options of beef, lamb, spam, sausage, bok choy, Napa, etc. They loaded mine with tons of cabbage which was nice. We got the chengdu broth which is in between a dry and soupy mix. They served our food in a shallow bowl/plate. They have do have soupy base options, such as beef bone broth. I actually enjoyed the in between mix and liked that it wasn't piping hot, but that's my preference. They had a decent sauce bar as well. Stocked with garlic, cilantro, soy, vinegar, oyster sauce, chilli powder, etc. It was very clean and spacious inside. There was only one server working but he was easy to flag down if we needed something. Overall, different but great experience. Will be back!

The portions are huge and I'll say this is my favorite malatang place flavor-wise! There is something about it that just packs in the flavor into everything, even the noodles, and tastes really authentic. The interior of the restaurant is nice and spacious also if you're dining there. My only downside is it is pricier than other malatang places as well but still worth trying - bring a buddy to share a big dish!

To whom it may concern,…read more a soul who delights in rich umami flavors, tasty Szechuan has found a place in my heart. As you make your way to your seat the hostess brings you a small bowl of fried peanuts with hot tea, which is super generous. The menu offers traditional yet caters to the native Hayward resident who doesn't know much about the Szechuan region, I'm that resident . The booths and tables remind me of my childhood traditional Chinese restaurant back in Fresno, ca yet with a modern twist, in my opinion portions are generous as well which is inviting for a family feast...well done tasty Szechuan.

All dishes came out as we hoped/expected with both the chicken and fish providing the nummy sensation that is unique to Szechuan cuisine. We threw in the eggplant order because we wanted some veggies and something that didn't overtly threaten to numb our palettes and were very happy with that as well. Chicken was fried well and not dry at all which was a lovely experience. Fish was also flavorful and enjoyable to eat, although perhaps the least memorable of the dishes. I wouldn't NOT get any of the dishes again and might elevate the chicken as a must get if you're there for the a Szechuan experience. Well probably come back the next time we get a craving for that nummy feeling.

This was one of the most disrespectful and shocking customer experiences I've had in a long time…read more they were closed and couldn't even wait or use the restroom. That felt discriminatory and completely unacceptable. My other account is George g. I can't log in but I made a new log in just for this review I stopped by around 9:40am after dropping my daughter off at school. I was hungry, didn't want breakfast, and noticed the front door was open with a woman sweeping inside. I politely approached and was immediately brushed off and told rudely to come back at 11am. Fine -- I understand if you're closed. But the way she spoke to me was dismissive and unwelcoming. I then politely asked if I could sit quietly and wait since I wasn't from the area and planned to eat before heading out to run errands. She waved her hand at me like I didn't matter and said no. As I was leaving, I urgently needed to use the restroom and asked respectfully if I could use it quickly. She said no again, pointed aggressively toward the grocery store next door, said "go go," and slammed the door shut on me. That alone was incredibly rude and humiliating. What made this even worse was that moments later, I watched a Chinese couple walk up and get let inside and seated even though I was told Customer service should be respectful and equal to everyone. First impressions matter, and this one was terrible. I'm still coming back later to try the food and will update, but based on how I was treated today, management seriously needs to address how customers are handled.

Though I prefer my food a little bit more flavorful, Ping's Bistro really shot every single flavor up. The Steamed pork belly with preserved vegetables was served first, and without a doubt, is one of the spiciest. It's a good size for sharing, but the preserved vegetables on the bottom was mushy and came in a very small portion. Though supposed to be a part of the dish, seemed to be thrown in just for some extra flavor. Though I selected mild spiciness for the Spicy Boiled Fish, it was still REALLY spicy. Maybe it's my spice intolerance, but this dish lights a fire in your mouth. Also, this dish is mala, so it numbs your mouth. Some people may enjoy this sensation, but it's a pass for me. The fish was really soft and tender though. The fish was my favorite part of the Spicy Boiled Fish. Not only there is fish underneath, it was surprising to see other ingredients like lotus, vermicelli noodles, and much more. The salted egg covered pork was extremely salty and oily. I was surprised to know it was boneless, and I felt like the salted egg crust is too thin, which let the taste of the pork overthrow any type of salted egg taste. The Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus was again one of my preferred dishes, though it was extremely oily. I really liked the egg, black fungus, and bell peppers in this dish. The eggs and black fungus were soaked with flavor and the bell peppers balanced out the heaviness. The pork was also alright, but more on the tougher side. If you were to come to Ping's Bistro, I would advise you to order the Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus. The floors were really sticky, but other than that, everything was alright. The water was poured messily, but I guess it's no big thing. The staff were really quiet and avoided interaction. When they serve your dish, they never wait an extra second before they leave for any questions or requests. They just drop the dish and zoom away. From my review, just remember: saltiness. I'm not convinced that I'll come back again, but I'm glad I tried it out.
