With this new normal, it is nice to know you can still count on your local businesses. On Sunday, Augusta downtown is slow, in a good way though, and it is good you can plan a rest stop while biking through the city. Tried something new, a quinoa hash brown!! It was just what I needed, not too much, fresh seasonings and energy packed goodness. I have passed by so many times, but finally got to go into New Moon in Augusta yesterday. Can't believe I've been missing out on this gem. They are not allowing customers inside but you order inside the main lobby of the building outside the door of new moon and you can browse through the book sales while you're waiting. The service was quick and the staff was so cheery and kind. I ordered an Iced Chai which came out quickly and was so delicious (with a decent price) as well as the Downtown Augusta style Grits bowl. If you love bacon and avocado I high key recommend! The outdoor seating is so nice and I love how the place is decorated. Such good vibes- we need more places like this in Augusta. read more

New Moon Cafe has a Starbucks feel and Barnes & Noble atmosphere, the staff is friendly and accommodating and serves up a good hearty breakfast. We order the breakfast burrito and two (2) lumberjack breakfasts both are really good. I also experienced the Ethiopian blend coffee the rich flavor was really nice. I was sooooo happy to have found this place. I first found it on Doordash and I decided I wanna check this place out in person. I'm now obsessed and will be back a million times. There's are SO many options to choose from it's incredible!! Their bagels are to die for and their store is adorable. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is so kind and wonderful. They are busy often so be patient, but they are working hard on our orders! I went during the week and it was busy I can't imagine what it looks like on a weekend. Incredible atmosphere and energy as soon as you enter the place. The walls are adorned from floor to ceiling with local artistry and fun little quirks. I will take pictures next time I hop in.. New Moon has all different kinds of coffee, fresh smoothies, breakfast, lunch, and quick bites. (I like the cookies). The menu stays the same for the most part but they will throw different specials up (I recommend the veggie thai noodle and grain bowl with sesame dressing if they have it!). The coffee is great, the staff is friendly, the food is good for a quick bite! If the weather is nice, I suggest sitting outside on the patio and bringing your dog. Update: I have been back to New Moon a few times since my first review and have tried a few different menu items- and I can say I'm officially hooked. First, the Green Monster - I am OBSESSED! Whoever came up with the concoction of kale, banana, peanut butter, yogurt, and honey is a genius. I'm also a fan of the Dr. J's panini, though I normally sub regular turkey in place of Cajun. All the ingredients are fresh, simple and delicious, and all sandwiches come with a side. Call-ahead for takeout if you're in a hurry! read more

Had family in for a few days so today was a great time to hit downtown for a quick stroll before they headed back to Cali. New Moon was on my to do list so when my niece pulled this up on Google... I said yes! That's one of the places I have wanted to check out. I loved what I saw as soon as I stepped onto the property! It's definitely got the vibes I love: artsy and different!!! Loved that the coffee & drinks menu is chalk art! Great fun visual and easy to read than a paper ol skool menu (no reading glasses needed ...a PLUS 4ME!) Food was great! I had breakfast burrito (so did my nephew). Delicious! Best I've ever had! No doubt! I do NOT prefer breakfast burritos because in my past except they are too wet and doughy with little ingredients and too much wrap so I was pleasantly pleased when I saw this plated burrito! And the magic was once I cut into it !! We'll see the picture for yourself! Perfectly cooked and the eggs were fluffy (just like I enjoy mine) and wonderful taste experience! My niece had the Green Monster smoothie minus yogurt and banana dubbed almond milk and pineapples! TRUST ME! We all agreed... SURPRISINGLY AMAZING! The peanut butter was so refreshing! Came here for coffee and an early lunch today. It's located in historic downtown Augusta on Broad Street and has an artistic/hipster vibe. Plenty of free street parking was available. I ordered an iced Americano and the Fiona wrap. Both were excellent! The Americano was perfectly made and wasn't too watered down. The Fiona was a veggie wrap with cheddar cheese, and I opted for the homemade hummus and bagel chips on the side. It was fresh and delicious! The pricing for the quality and quantity was appropriate. I paid about $10 total. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items. If you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend checking this place out. read more

Great to have hipster coffee shop in downtown Augusta! I love the outdoors area - great for people watching and it's covered so you can still sit outside in the rain. Most of the times I've eaten at New Moon I've luckily avoided the lunch rush so service was fast. However, I have seen how long the lines can be at noon. Their lunch sandwiches and breakfast smoked salmon bagel are delicious and decently priced. My friends had their chicken salad sandwich and was not impressed though. read more

Even as I work part-tie in a restaurant serving Avocado Toast, I had never really dived int Avocado Toast. I really liked it! I got my egg over easy, and it comes with a bit of Sriracha drizzled on it, and a Nutella hot drink. The gentleman who takes your order is a very friendly, happy and what I felt, positive guy. He brightened my mid-morning with his great attitude. I picked up my hot drink and a few minutes later he dropped off my food. There is an interior "outdoor" patio (meaning is outside the confines of the restaurant but inside a larger building, like in a covered court yard. There is a book store right in front so if you want to do this and do that, it is very convenient! I really enjoyed the service and the food. I came here with my friends one morning for brunch and got the machete mocha (spiced mocha, almost like Mexican chocolate) and the Tony Montana (like a Cuban sandwich). Their chocolate chip cookies were absolutely delicious, a great mix of chewy and soft. Like most brunch places, they are not cheap, but we all enjoyed the food. Perfect spot to grab breakfast! I was really craving a smoothie after seeing all their tasty Yelp photos, ordered myself one and it did not disappoint. It seems like grits are the big hit here and although I didn't want to dive into a whole big grit bowl, I did grab one as my side. It was pretty kick ass, super flavorful! No need to add anything else to those tasty things, they were perfect just the way they were. I also ordered the ham quiche, while it was quite tasty it was a bit of cheese overload with the grits as well. Both super delicious, just a lot for breakfast. This place is super cute. Has the artsy vibe and a great selection of coffee and smoothies. We came for the breakfast. There aren't a large number of breakfast or weekend brunch spits in Augusta (besides your chain stores) so we decided on this one. Customer service was great, super friendly staff. Small breakfast menu, but we liked what we got. I got the burrito, It was just eggs and chopped up sausage patties (which is fine with me) wrapped in a tortilla with 2 cheeses melted on top. It was basic, but that's kinda what I wanted, but what put it over the top is the salsa... idk if its housemate or what, but it was fantastic! My husband got the lumberjack breakfast. My husband loves bread, the toast was super thick so he was satisfied without ordering another serving, which is typical for him. There was a ton of bacon and lots of eggs. What would make this a 5 star spot? 1 thing, 1 thing would take it to the next level and that would be REAL EGGS! I mean, they got everything else right, from the thick toast, to a boatload of bacon... it's all inexpensive and i like that. But if we could get fresh eggs that would rock it out! It wasn't a super fast from order to table experience, which would have been ok, had I got real eggs. And to be able to choose from at least scrambled or fried, that would have rocked it out. read more

I only stayed to eat here because we had a guest and I didn't want to make a stink. This place is run down and not in a trendy sort of way. I'm talking dust, sticky icky, high chair with bolts sticking out and swaying like a tree in a storm type run down. The parfait looked like it had frozen fruit on top in a syrupy glaze. The grits tasted like they were made a few days ago and left open in a fridge with something pungent near them. I'm not a grit aficionado but I know they should not taste like that! I had a veggie and egg quesadilla that was ish. I wouldn't return because the lack of cleanliness is deplorable and I didn't even step foot in the bathroom because I'm sure it looked the rest of the place. Which tells me so does their kitchen .
