Last Christmas season, I had a photograph and store bought frame and matte as I was planning on a DIY photo for my Dad. I then learned that I would need a custom matte cut for the photo's size and was pressed for time. I called up Framer vs Framer and talked to Lori. She said "Sure, come on in!" Even though it was past her closing time and she was swamped with orders. I arrived and moments later she had a perfectly cut matte for me. She also saw that my frame could easily be improved, and offered up a wire hanger with a new backing and attachments, moments later the photo was looking great and ready for wrapping! I was leaving Romio's when I saw the owner standing outside her store talking to someone whose dog was inside their SUV and barking. She kept asking the person, "Is your dog upset? Can I calm your dog down? Is he going to bite me?" Meanwhile, her own dogs were sitting in the entryway of her store. As I walked by, her older golden retriever started growling directly at me. Her SUV was parked directly in front of the store and blocking the sidewalk, so I couldn't simply go around the dog while staying on the sidewalk. I stopped and stepped back because I wasn't comfortable walking past a dog that was growling at me. I waited a moment and tried to continue, and the dog growled at me again. I politely asked her, "Excuse me, can you get your dog?" Instead of simply calling her dog back, she immediately became hostile and started calling me names, including "dumb bitch." I told her, "No, your dog is growling at me. I don't feel comfortable walking past your dog." She then told me to walk out into the parking lot and go around her SUV, while it was raining, rather than simply controlling her dog. Then she stormed into Romio's. This was actually my SECOND encounter with her dogs. The first time, her little pug jumped up on me and was sniffing my leg. I didn't care because the dog wasn't aggressive and seemed excited. Yesterday, however, I had a completely different experience. If your response to someone politely asking you to control a dog that is repeatedly growling at them is to verbally attack them and call them names, you have a serious problem. I have no idea what was going on with this woman yesterday, but her behavior was completely unhinged and unnecessary. I wasn't trying to bother her, I wasn't trying to enter her store, and I wasn't saying anything about her dogs until one of them repeatedly growled at me. So, fair warning to anyone walking around this storefront: if you don't want to be verbally assaulted by a hostile older woman or potentially growled at or bitten by a dog, I'd suggest avoiding this store altogether. Again, I have never been a customer here and never purchased anything from this business. I'm reviewing the behavior I personally experienced in public yesterday.

It is not even comparable to the other chain stores in the area. They also have a good selection of sewing notions and sewing patterns. And wow they have a ton of puzzles!! She made comments along the lines of, "You should just bring your pearl here so we can look," and, "You don't even know the names of the parts you're looking for." I understood what she was trying to imply--that bringing the pearl in would make it easier for them to identify the appropriate components--but there's definitely a more helpful and welcoming way to phrase that, especially when someone is new to jewelry making and simply trying to learn. I'll continue going to the store, as my previous experiences have been positive, but this interaction was disappointing.

When I stopped by the shop after 4 weeks to check on progress, he literally couldn't find my artwork. We compared the sample noted in the order (grayish color), and the result (almost black) and the difference was obvious. The store personnel informed me they cannot control how the color of the frame would turn out ...? They offered to re-do everything with a different wood but their selection was quite limited (and if the color isn't something that is guaranteed - what is the point to redo the work? Also, the wood in that frame wasn't completely finished and they had to stain parts of it over. The quality of frames degraded, but prices doubled up. I was very disappointed.
