I was their returning customer, had done many frames there, but I will not go back there again, and I won't recommend this business anymore, and here is why: I paid more than $800 for the framing work, only to receive a different dark color of the frame in the completed framed art. We compared the sample noted in the order (grayish color), and the result (almost black) and the difference was obvious. The store personnel informed me they cannot control how the color of the frame would turn out ...? They offered to re-do everything with a different wood but their selection was quite limited (and if the color isn't something that is guaranteed - what is the point to redo the work? Also, the wood in that frame wasn't completely finished and they had to stain parts of it over. The quality of frames degraded, but prices doubled up. I was very disappointed. read more

I'm writing this review to share my appreciation for the high quality and aesthetically beautiful frame that truly enhances the artwork I brought in. I worked with Hana and was immediately impressed with her intuitive, creative and learned knowledge of color theory as she helped me pick the perfect color mat. I was also impressed with the care she took in my project which required the use of spacers between the mat board/art and the glass to best show off the deckle edge of the art. Wood doesn't last long, gets easily scraped, crazy prices. It takes months to get your painting or picture, and if you want to frame a picture customed by you it's crazy expensive for no reason, so buy custom frames for your own picture your self, and if you hang a picture with nails on the wall, it damages through the wood they use which isn't durable, this isn't worth it. I've never had such apathetic service. The clerk only wanted to show me frames directly behind him. The other more appropriate frames behind the other clerk were just off limits apparently. I left without buying. If you have a cheap poster they might be a good place but their selection is very limited. Don't bother taking any real art there. My aunt gave me a poser sized, wine-centric map of Washington state. I wanted to hang it but it was not framed. I've been getting these coupons for 35% off Frame Central, and since I've never had anything framed before I thought I'd give them a shot. I took in my poster, which ended up measuring 24.5 x 35.5, which is an odd size and required a custom frame. After testing several options on the corners of my poster, I selected a solid wood frame, which was painted a blueish color, but had natural wood highlights under the scraped blue paint. I elected for traditional glass instead of acrylic or anti-glare. The price with tax and 35% off was $319. I don't know if this is a high price or not, but I am satisfied with the custom frame job which was completed in four days time. First time here. Came to use a groupon special. Luckily I got $100 off for a custom frame but still shelled out $275. They did a great job but I don't understand how it cost so much. I guess next time I should price around. This is not my first custom frame job. I've had another item framed before in a shadow box with another figurine placed separately from the pic and paid about the same price as this job. I am so glad I went to Frame Central in Issaquah to have my 14 paintings framed. Tony did a great and thorough job on all of them. I think Chris worked on them too. Even the brown paper wrapping on each one was superb. Price was right too. Tony n Chris are who I'll awlays have frame anything. Another place I went to before Frame Central was double the cost . I took a print in to have it framed for my husband's Christmas gift. Went to pick it up yesterday and they'd put the wrong frame on it. Not sure how that happened. The guy who was there when I went to pick it up said that the right frame was on the order. He wasn't sure either, but he also didn't seem too worried. Excellent customer service and thrilled with their 30-day customer guarantee. Had asked them to create a frame and mat for a certificate, and what they designed was beautiful. But when I got the framed certificate home, I realized that the frame and mat were just a bit too big and thus overwhelmed the certificate itself. Took it back in, and with the guarantee, they were able to completely re-do the frame with new components and at the smaller size at zero extra cost to me. read more

There was nothing Fast, Fun, or Affordable about my experience with Frame Central! We recently visited the Denver Art Museum while exploring the American Indian Art Exhibit we noticed many woven tapestries similar to the Navajo heirloom that is from my husband's side of the family. When we got home we had it appraised and realized yes, this piece needed to be preserved. I thumbed through our Val-Pak and noticed a coupon for Frame Central (first mistake). What a perfect time to bring in this woven piece to be archivally framed as a five year anniversary gift to my husband (second mistake). I showed Phil, Manager, Master Designer and Artisan Custom Picture Framer (according to his business card) a picture of a tapestry on my phone and how I would like it resemble the photo, mind you the tapestry was framed with glass. He talked about stitching the piece to cloth rather than gluing as that may compromise the integrity of this archival piece, so I was on board. He then said the stitching may not be perfect and may not line up perfectly which made me feel a little uneasy, but we went ahead and picked out a frame. I was a little gobsmacked by the cost, but anticipated it would be expensive, and it needed to be done as we intend to keep this Navajo heirloom in the family. He said due to the stitching it may take 3 weeks, fine! When it was time to pick up the long anticipated piece, a week from our anniversary, I was filled with so much excitement! That excitement quickly dwindled upon the unveiling of the piece. The stitching was fine, I didn't expect that to be spot on perfect, but I didn't expect the technician to explain that he used some glue on the back especially after we discussed stitching as the solution to glue and then to complain about blisters he accrued due to the stitching, especially after paying close to $700. What I really didn't expect to see was that the piece was not framed, yes it was framed, but where was the glass? The picture that I referenced had glass, I reiterated that this piece needed to be archivally preserved and you can not have a piece like this exposed to dust or light! At this point I felt so defeated and Phil saying I assumed you wanted no glass was the icing on the cake. I thought to myself, why on earth would I come to a frame shop with a very, very, expensive piece and not have it framed without glass????? I should have listened to my mom, whom is a successful realtor in downtown Bellevue for 35 years and to her clients, take it to Museum Quality Framing in Bellevue!!! It's in the title, Museum Quality, ugh! Oh, but Phil recognized the devastation in my face and said if I buy plexiglass (what) he would be happy to wave the remounting fee. Needless to say I will never ever, ever get something framed at Fame Central again, that is unless I want something half framed for a high price! read more

I brought a ton of pictures in to get framed, and the staff was SO helpful. More than willing to pull every frame I wanted to look at off the shelves and over to the pictures for me to look at. I had to get a custom matte for one of the pictures, and the suggestions they had were awesome and the project turned out beautiful! I had a very large canvas photograph that needed stretching and framing as a gift to my husband. The print had a boarder that required the stretching to be exactly aligned. They did it within perfectly! The representative also helped me pick out the perfect wood frame that complimented the print without distracting from it. The photograph was more like a fine piece of art (and cost about as much too), so I knew that a great frame would be costly. Kelly the store manager was very accommodating when I called and subsequently went to the store right afterwards. Our elementary school has an upcoming fund-raiser auction just around the corner. Each class creates an art auction project, sometimes requiring a frame. I had a specific style and color options in mind for a large art work (24x36") when I called. It helped that I've framed before and also cut my own mat boards. On the phone, Kelly walked me through the selection for our very limited budget, discussed time to complete, and graciously waived the expedited fee so our artwork can be ready by our school's deadline. The phone call was helpful because it's almost 20 minutes 1-way to drive to the store. When I arrived at the store, she had already pulled out the two frames we've narrowed down and worked up the price differences between the two (custom framing vs ready to go frame package). The rest of the experience was good; we confirmed the mat board I wanted, the amount of reveal, etc. We were able to pick up the framed art on the date she said was most likely to be completed and the result is very good.
