their prices are ridiculous. I was wanting to order a small thing of noodles for myself because I'm allergic to chicken and beef and they wanted to charge me $11 for a whole plate that I wasn't gonna eat which is very ridiculous. They should maybe consider selling it by the weight and not charging people $15 for a tiny to go play that you can't fit anything on. read more

ok well it has been a while since I have been in here. located south ridge mall area north east corner entrance. prices 16 bucks per person for all you can eat late afternoon. as most folks that know me i am a sushi hand role maki person. not a snob but know when i tie in to the good stuff. ask at the sushi counter for chop sticks well on the sushi this place was right on point! LOL! the rice was favored perfect, a true moment for sure. yea by BIG city standards i ate maybe 100 bucks worth. lol 2 good sized plates worth. yea i needed that! on to the hot food. the egg drop soup was real good best in town so far. nice chicken flavor and perfectly seasoned. ok they had steamed won tons. think dim some. flavored with 5 spice. chicken with broccoli was ok i made the mistake on the Mongolian beef. i did not see it was loaded with HOT peppers. way too hot for me to enjoy. they did have a good looking salad area. and ice cream in cups. inside was Divy but ok lots of folks piling in just as we were checking out. kinda small in side not super large. glad we went in mid after noon 4pm ish. i could see this packed at noon or 5 pm prime times. read more

I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants consistently good food with great service at a reasonable price. As far as buffets go, this one is my favorite in Des Moines. The staff is very kind and clears away dirty plates promptly. I have visited this establishment multiple times and have always had the best dining experience. The exterior looks a little rough, but inside is clean, the food is always rotated and fresh, and the selections are more varied than most Chinese buffets. I am a nut for broccoli, and this place always has it, both in the steamed vegetables dish and in chicken with broccoli - and it isn't frozen, it's fresh. First off my main reason for going here, like most places, is my kids love it. And I like for that fact alone. My kids will eat it and we don't have to wait to get served our food... instant gratification lol It is a decent buffet. They have plenty of selection. I'm not big on seafood, but they do have a wide selection of it for those that enjoy it. They even chicken strips, pizza, and fries for those who don't enjoy Asian cuisine. I like that I can make my own bowl with fresh meat and my own concoction of sauces and they will cook the stuff fresh for me. Kinda like huhot style. That's a big plus. Everyone always leaves here full. Another plus. The only real down side is the place could use some updating as far as booths and chairs and maybe a little cleaner, but I've seen much worse. While not horrible, and taking into account it's a buffet, the food overall was a lot of hit and miss. The chicken skewers were not very tasty, but the chicken breast nuggets were reasonable. There was lots to choose from and I certainly didn't try everything. The mocha chocolate dessert squares were a nice treat. Service was very good in keeping our table clear of dirty dishes and keeping our water glasses filled. Atmosphere was friendly and "low-key". Got take out for my first visit. Ordered 2 spring rolls, an order of fried wontons, orange chicken and Hunan chicken. The spring rolls were good, the wontons were over cooked and the orange chicken was very grissley to the point that my wife was unable to enjoy her meal. THIS IS MY FAVORITE CHINESE BUFFET IN TOWN! They have the best selection of food and their quality is amazing! The buffet interior design is nice and comforting. They have a large party room in the back which makes it an amazing place for large groups. The staff is very friendly and food well-stocked. Their parking is easy here with a large lot. This place is always busy, but since there is so much seating and large spread, you hardly notice it is busy. The price here is also very good. I will continue eating here, this is my go-to Chinese buffet in town and it does not look like it will be changing anytime soon. read more

I have to agree with most of the reviews that this is probably Iowa's best Chinese Buffet. The "small" selection of food is actually generally high in quality, such as scallops and cheesy mussels, for the *very* reasonable price. This place is the first Chinese buffet in America I've been to that had egg custard tarts once. The desserts are good and I'm addicted to their cream puffs. My problem with this restaurant isn't so much the weird lighting in some places and small selection of foods, rather, it's the fact that some of the food is sort of a hit-or-miss. For example, the chicken skewers don't really do it for me. It's kind of that feeling for the food in general. I do want to emphasize, however, that the value of this place is fantastic. I will be back, and I'm raiding the sushi bar as soon as I get there. read more

As far as Chinese Buffets go, this was one of the better ones. Being from out of town, this was totally unexpected. Very reasonably priced for lunch and dinner. I usually judge these buffets by the quality of the food, cleanliness of the rest rooms, service, eggrolls and cold shrimp. They passed on all. The peel your own shrimp were a bit overcooked, but were also the medium/large type. The eggrolls were very good. Their other hot steam table dishes were kept full at all times. They also offer sushi which is on display and ready to go. Service was very good---- they cleared the empty plates and kept by drink filled. read more

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the service is good, the lady was very prompt on getting our drinks and plates out of the way. However, the food was extremely bland and I had to chew FOREVER to actually swallow it without chocking because of how tough the chicken was. After leaving my stomach hurt from the food so I'm scared it might have given me food poisoning it's just too early to tell. Definitely will not be coming back. read more
