    Crispy Shrimp Rangoons
    Andrea T.

We've been to a couple of the other Wasabi locations over the years and were excited when this one got announced as it's a lot closer to us. We checked it out for a Friday lunch. The shared parking lot had quite a few vehicles in it so I anticipated it being really busy. We were greeted upon entry and seated promptly. The dining room was maybe half full. I hadn't had time to look at the "bar" side to see how many were seated there. We were seated at a corner half booth. The decor in the dining room is really nice. A wood slab wall with back lighting, shelving that's back lit, lotus lights, and more. Unfortunately, it took a server quite some time to come to our table. At one point I saw two of them having a conversation that looked like they were debating who our server was. Eventually our server made her way over to us and took our drink orders. As she was about to walk away, I asked if we could place an order for the starter so it could come out before our entrees and she said yes. She took down our order for the Crispy Shrimp Rangoons. When she returned with our drinks, we ordered our lunch entrees of the Marilyn Munroll and Tonkatsu Ramen (spicy). Our waitress came back to refill drinks and bring my garden salad. She apologized for how long the rangoons were taking. A few minutes later they arrived. The Crispy Shrimp Rangoons were hot, crispy, and delicious. I'd have loved more shrimp inside them but overall they were tasty. Right as we finished those, our entrees came out. Both looked great. My Marilyn Munroll was melt in your mouth good. Zero complaints. My husband enjoyed his ramen. His only, small, complaint was the leek was difficult to pull apart with chopsticks. We paid via the QR code on the receipt. We really like using this option when it's available. It had some issues connecting and our waitress had returned and asked if we were paying via the QR code. We said yes but that it was having issues connecting. Her response was, don't ask me, I've never used it. We did have experience using them at other restaurants so weren't concerned but her response was zero help if we did need assistance. We had a great food experience and an ok server experience. You can tell the servers and hostesses were new. With more experience, this place would get 5 stars from me.

Pleasant afternoon visit. Service was very good. Staff was pleasant and gave great suggestions. I coincidentally hit it at Happy Hour which is a very good one. My two rolls, the pepper tuna and the spicy crab were both very good. I wish the beer selection was larger with more local variety. Decor is attractive for both a girls afternoon out or a romantic evening. I will be back for the Happy Hour again.

Just love to find appetizing Asian flavors that I have not tried in a new area I order several items for taste such as chicken egg rolls, soup and of course a creative Mocktail. The servers were very attentive to watching for when I was finished to bring forth the next tasty and presentation worthy dish. The total atmosphere was full of business clientele with a very upscale decor. Everything was scrumptious.

Both ramen varieties include a meat and veggie option for our vegetarians. 2) they are a well loved LGBTQ+ owned local business - we love to support that! 3) their food is absolutely delicious. Their appetizers are YUM. I definitely recommend the artichoke tempura. It took awhile for me to order here. They are only available for pick up/dine in on wednesdays. I am on Instagram and their Instagram page has been very helpful. They have a how-to assemble on their website. If you're doing pick up, I much recommend getting the uncooked noodles. Literally takes a minute of boiling the noodles to assemble and makes me feel like I'm working with a Hello Fresh meal. Also. I recommend adding an egg with your ramen. Note. You can also order a day ahead and You can put in the time you'll pick it up. They are pretty popular so you do have to be patient since they're making all of this fresh. I have arrived at the time of pick up and still having to wait an additional 15 minutes bc they're stocked full of orders.

The texture of the noodles were so unique and perfectly chewy yet soft. Found out they are made without egg. The masubi was delectable!! I love how authentic it tasted. I could eat 20 of those. Made perfectly! During COVID19 review: Got take out. No dine-in is allowed. Employees were masked. A simple friendly hello when I arrived for my order. Pick up area was nice and orderly. Several orders were waiting besides mine. Bringing home to put together was easy peasy. We have a bit of a drive, so when we arrived home we had to heat the broth for a bit on the stove. Everything was nicely packaged and labeled. Overall my review is for the quality of food and it was AWESOME! I had very minimal interaction with service so I don't have any thoughts there. I learned of Ramen Club DSM through Instagram and found they have a wonderful word of mouth, social media marketing and following. I loved everything and am a huge fan. I can't wait to have another bowl and MAYBE, JUST MAYBE...dine in once there's an ok to eat there.

Like Tokyo in Ankeny they offer teppanyaki style dining with a tableside show at the grill... Or standard dining at a table where you can order the same items off a menu that are offered grillside. Taki is in a strip of businesses so parking isn't an issue. It's got a large lot. We were greeted immediately as we walked in and seated in a booth at the front of the restaurant. We were just hungry and didn't need the show. It was a little chilly inside, but that's Iowa weather and they has just opened the doors for dinner. In hindsight it might have been warmer by a grill. Lol Our server was fantastic. Personable and attentive. Along with fountain drinks we both ordered the New York strip & shrimp, fried rice, soup, salad (ginger dressing), and vegetables off the teppanyaki menu. One medium and one medium rare. The food was excellent as always! Make sure you try their yum yum sauce...! We left full and smiling... Another great visit to Taki!

Our hibachi chef was hilarious, engaging, and kept us entertained the entire time! He definitely made our experience more enjoyable. As for the food, the vegetables and shrimp were good and flavorful. However, the fried rice wasn't my favorite. The texture was a bit gummy. The grill area is a little small and very tight! The chairs feel packed in to fit everyone around the table. A little more space would be nice. On the bright side, there was plenty of parking!

She immediately demanded to know what we wanted. I told her we were getting soy sauce and a few other items, but she still followed us around the entire store, watching us like we were doing something wrong. When I said we were still looking at a few more items, she told us she was "not comfortable" and actually asked us to leave the store. I've never experienced such rude, unprofessional customer service anywhere. If this is how they treat paying customers, I won't be coming back -- and I'd strongly suggest others avoid this place too
