My experience with SNFP was horrible! They were contracted to monitor our fire alarm and sprinkler system. For some reason they had not been out in a long time to check our system not blaming them I have no idea what the real reason was it may not have been their fault. However the fire department shows up one day and says our system was offline and showed we no longer occupied the building. How come SNFP did not know this or contact us or the fire department. It turns out our panel was out of service b/c it was not upgradeable & not able to receive a signal anymore. They had no idea, so our association found a company to install an new panel, since they had not seen SNFP in a while they assumed we no longer had a contract and found a new company to install a $2500 panel. So we had a new company monitoring our Fire Alarm, and they still monitored our Sprinkler system.
They then show up 2 months after we had a new panel and seem clueless that they no longer are monitoring our fire alarm, and take the system offline to test and immediately our current fire alarm company gets notified. They talk and the tech from SNFP leaves. Fine all handled after taking up maybe 30 min. of my work day.
A week later a NEW tech shows from SNFP claiming they need a key to something outside to test our sprinklers. Now we are a 3 unit building, all keys and systems are in the middle unit. Now they have been "monitoring" and servicing our equipment for a few years yet they had NO CLUE where the keys were to the system outside to test. WHY DO THEY NOT KEEP ANY NOTES. They have been here previously to test, yet they act as if they never have been here. Also couldn't this have been done a week ago when the last tech was here?
Then we decide we just need one company SNFP doesn't seem to know what's going on, so we cancel them for the sprinkler monitoring on approx. 12/19. Okay great they are done and gone. NOPE 12/20 a tech shows up claiming he needs to run a test of the sprinklers. My Admin tells the tech NO, we cancelled our contract and the owner said they do not want you to touch anything as we no longer have service with you. And if you need anything to talk to the head of the association as they state you are not allowed on the premises.
So he leaves, so we THOUGHT! And we thought wrong so we found out he goes to another unit in our building and straight out lies to them, stating "They have work to be done". Now we had only cancelled 17 hours earlier so not all units were notified. I am sure this was intentional of SNFP. I mean really you show up 17 hours AFTER your contract cancels? And this is now the 3rd time in 3 weeks you are here for something, and something different every time?
So the next day 12/21 we get a call from our new monitoring company to find out our system is offline. So they come out and check. and SNFP had STOLEN our transceiver from our monitoring panel. Yes its considered theft, it's something installed in our building that they removed without any authority. Same as if they just took one of our computers! An item that costs $1,650.00 in our new panel we just purchased. And then reset the system with a code to lock anyone out unless you entered the correct 4 digit code, which they never gave us, and also placed MULTIPLE stickers with their LOGO all over our brand new $2,500 panel we purchased from the new company.
Now say we forget about all the previous things, about them having no notes about where keys are, or who to call etc. Really to steal an item that costs $1,650 from our new panel we TOLD them we had just purchased from our new monitoring company! Then we have to contact you for a code to unlock the panel?! and Now have to try and remove all your stickers that were not there the previous 2 times they were here, ONLY AFTER we cancel the contract do they do something destructive.
So we sent an email demanding they return our transceiver, and were told it should have been left on top of our panel. Which it was NOT.
This was the most outrageous encounter I have ever had with a service company.
