I looked at some of the reviews and they were all 5 or 4 stars, so I decided to go there to get dinner with my mom and dad. I got some kind of spaghetti with cheese, eggs, and ham. My mom got a beef steak and my dad got sliced beef with mushrooms (the special). When we got our food, I was excited to dig in. But when I did, I was a bit disappointed. My dish was a bit to salty. There was WAY to much cheese and there was 0 egg (if there was, I couldn't taste it any). The ham would have been good but, it was very, very salty. I would give that dish a rating of 1 out of 5. My mom's dish however was great. The steak was perfect. It came with some zucchini, sliced potato's, and some cherry tomatoes. I tried a tiny piece and it was DELICIOUS. I would rate this dish 5 out of 5. You should try it. My dad's dish was ok. I don't know about you, but I absolutely HATE salad dressing and mayo. And that dish was covered in that stuff. You might think that tastes good, but not me! His dish had the same vegetables as my mom's. He said that he would rate the dish 2 1/2 out of 5. In the end, my mom and dad were both full but I still wanted to eat dessert. They got me a panna cotta with caramel. It was great. The caramel was a bit too sweet, but great, none the less. I would rate it 4 out of 5. I would rate this meal 3 out of 5. All of the reviews said that in the end they give you a bottle of limoncello. But, they didn't. read more

Don't come here expecting the authentic Italian experience, they are much nicer than your average Italian place. The pizza was alright, the service was excellent and the desserts were very, very good. Our server recommended that we take the mascarpone with strawberry, and add chocolate, which was a solid tip! No cover charge, and we got complimentary limonchello afterwards. Recommended if you want a smooth and pleasant meal. read more

Let me start by saying I am absolutely not a Pasta fan. We went here for the atmosphere and experience and left pleasantly surprised. Our group of 12 tried several different dishes and everyone was raving about their choices. I was especially happy with my choice of tonnarello cacio e pepe. My husband and I went here for dinner. Everything from the food to the staff to the decor was amazing. It was just a great experience! We ordered the meats and cheese for an appetizer and they spilt it onto 2 plates, for a moment we thought oh shoot we didn't order 2 but our server explained this was one order.. and our server, Angelo was the best! We ordered a bottle of Cabernet and he said 'so American' haha so we asked for his suggestion and he suggested the bottle I originally wanted. He is from the Philippines so he speaks Tagalog, Italian obvi, English and overheard him speaking Spanish to a table next to us, so impressive. Even the other staff members were all so nice and fun! The main course was delicious! Dessert oooh man! And the lemonchello shots at the end were the perfect ending. They even gave us complimentary 'melonchello' and 'bananachello' shots! Holy cow--what a great restaurant! Okay, it's in Rome and all that, but I've traveled a lot (and a lot to Italy) so have some objectivity to Europe. This restaurant is a great find. We had pizza with mushroom in a thin crust and it was super delicious. The arugula salad with mortadella, Grana Padano cheese, olive oil and vinaigrette is a must starter and their homemade tiramisu is a great end to a fantastic dinner. Some of the best food I've ever had, with some of the best service I've ever experienced (Kim and Angelo were so fun and kind and made it a great night!) Stumbled in here on our last night in Rome. Had the lemon-almond ravioli special and it was to die for, and our waiter recommended a super pistachio tiramisu. Figured we'd be paying quite a bit, but who cares, it was our last night and the food was sooo good! But no! It ended up being one of the cheaper dinners we had our whole time in Italy. Had an amazing dinner at Nerone. The staff Kim and Angelo and the rest of the staff were great. The food was very good. We both started with the cheese platter. The servers helped pair our bottle of wine and helped with any questions we had with the menu. We had carbonara with white sauce and the escalope with white wine sauce. Ended the meal with split tiramisu- classic & pistachio. The meal was completed with a couple of liqueur shots on the house. I can not recommend this restaurant highly enough - the food was spectacular, but the service was off the charts. It's a charming, intimate spot but welcoming. We arrived at 7:45 and waited about 10 minutes for a table. They do take reservations and it's definitely a good idea. The staff couldn't have been more gracious and kind - they tolerated our halting attempts at Italian and were good natured throughout. Definitely worthy of a stop. We had appetizers with buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto, and tomatoes which were all outstanding. Entrees or flank steak and pasta with pesto were also delicious with perfectly sized portions. Various breads were plentiful and the house red wine was very drinkable. They brought us lemoncello to finish our meal. A great dinner in Rome all around. read more

It's probably fair to be a little skeptical of a restaurant so close to Rome's main train station--there are plenty of tourist spots all too happy to charge a lot for low-quality food. Fortunately, Nerone is the exact opposite of a tourist trap--the exterior is unassuming (a forest of scooters, no sidewalk tables), the prices are reasonable, and the food is very good. There is an old, modest fountain on one side of the interior, so the water is free, and we saw other diners taking pictures while filling their pitchers. The staff was cheerful and engaging, and provided helpful recommendations and excellent service. read more

This was probably the best Italian I had on my trip to Italy to date. The food was authentic Roman food. The spot gets a lot of tourists but pretty amazing. It's rated a 4.8 on Google maps - deserves every star. I had the carbonara and the tiramisu for dessert along with a bottle of wine. I've never had such good pasta or dessert before. The carbonara melts in your mouth and has the perfect amount of al dente that pasta should have. The dessert was equally amazing. I think the bill ended up being €30 which was ridiculously cheap for what the food was. A highly recommend this gem of an Italian restaurant. read more

Excellent service and flavorful food. My friend found them on a Google maps because of the proximity to my hotel and the Metro (A line). They do close between lunch and dinner. They are priced very reasonably and give you nice portion sizes. We ordered bruschetta that had olive tapenade, artichoke tapenade and tomato. The olive was my favorite. All were served on crunchy edged bread that was soft and chewy in the middle. Our meals were simple pastas but bursting with flavor. Mine was garlic, olive oil and chili flakes. My friend got margarita pasta. For water they have a cool running fountain like tap that is self serve so you can get as much as you'd like. Although I did see them filling pitchers for others. So not sure if its because it was a larger group rather than just the 2 of us. Finished off the meal with cappuccinos that were delicious! I will need to come back for dessert! They have menus for different lauanges. Super accommodating and worth a trip. read more

Best meal in Italy. We tried to get in our first night and they were full. We hit the restaurant just after 7:30 our last night in Rome and what a perfect evening. Kim our server was incredible. I have been in the industry my whole life and recognize good service. Kim is a natural. He loves what he does and the menu and ambiance at Narone are a perfect match. My daughter loved her chicken dish. It was moist, flavorful and a perfect portion. I had a steak special in a red wine sauce that was incredible. Served with our meal was a pizza crust like bread that I could eat for days. I would highly recommend this local eatery to all who visit Rome. read more

The amazing experience started when we walked through the doors, after 9 pm with no reservations! We had a quick chat with the host, who did a quick check to see if he could fit us in, and gave us both a glass of house wine to help with our wait.. which lasted less than 5 minutes! Then the restaurant itself was very unique, and with a fountain connected to the Roman aqueduct that tasted so delicious, I've never had better water from a tap. This is also something that our very knowledgeable waiter took the time to share with us the history ! The amazing service only continues, with a bruschetta delivered on the house, and some breads that are among the best we've tasted on the trip. Then the food!! My wife had their ravioli, and I had the house special lasagna. Hands down the best tasting meal we have eaten thus far in Italy! And then it was time desert (even though I didn't think I had enough room, with all the bread and pasta). The small Asian woman greeted us welcome, looked at our faces, then told us they're fully booked for the evening. It was only around 7:30pm. Behind us is another family of 3 (with a kid) looking at the menu outside after they patiently waited for us for a while we were also looking at the posted menus earlier. So we walk around for awhile in the area and noticed that she let in that same family of 3 with a kid who were browsing at the menus with us earlier. Our family of four stopped in for an late lunch/early dinner. We were all shocked with the amazing hospitality and great ambiance of this restaurant. Our waiter, Kim, was very attentive, understanding and friendly. The food, especially the beef with the red wine sauce, was amazing. This restaurant is a gem. Not only is the staff friendly and attentive but the food was excellent. The atmosphere is charming. We were there during lunch and it was quite full. We seemed to be one of the few tourists. My husband had rigatoni carbonara and I had a grilled steak. The food was flavorful and seasoned perfectly. There were nice touches such as bruschetta for a starter, chocolate and limoncello at the end of our meal. These were nice treats on the house. We were thanked multiple times as we were leaving.
