We loved our first time experience at this taco truck in the Whittaker neighborhood. Recommended to me by my hairdresser and her Latino friends, the tacos and burritos did not disappoint! The owner was also very welcoming, warm and friendly. I ordered the chicken bowl and my husband had the carne asada burrito. His response was, "Best burrito I've had in Eugene." He has lived here a lot longer than I! 20+ years, so that says a lot! I loved how tasty the chicken was: spicy, flavorful, marinated just right. Oh....and very reasonably priced. We went to try Nelson' newest venture. We love his food and have been going there for years. We are so happy to have a sit down restaurant to enjoy his cooking. The food was delicious as always and they now serve cocktails that were beautify presented and did not dissapoint. They just opened up a few weeks ago and they are getting in the swing of things. Our server was very nice but when we told her we thought the fireplace flue was open because we were sitting in front of it and freezing. She said "I don't know today's my first day". So next time I hope they have a fire in the fireplace or close it off to block the cold air. We will definitely be back for their Tuesday only special Birria Tacos! Can't wait! read more

Ordered the wet burrito with french fries, and it came out looking so nice I forgot to take a picture. They also had a wonderful array of vegan options for my wife and some taquitos with the perfect portion size for my 3 year old. Love Nelson's. He really is in there almost 24/7 cooking and running his cart. You can tell he loves his customers he remembers everyone. He doesn't cut cost on quality of the ingredients and he is so very friendly. The street tacos are amazing they remind me of a piece of home in San Diego. Ok, this place will rock your socks off, if all the homeless bums don't first. Located on the wonderful blair it is tucked behind board restaurant. Cashiers were very friendly. Prices were fairly solid. Parking is meh, find a street spot close hopefully. Food was great, classic mexican street tacos had great flavor and a decent value. Chile relleno plate was a daily special came with beans and rice... Pretty filling overall, came with some bagged chips which scooped up the beans nicely. Would definitely come back... Ordered: Vegan Burrito. Chips and salsa. Green salsa. This was a really amazing burrito. Warm and soft tortilla. That first bite really melted me. Rice, beans, guac, potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce. Not a potatoes person but they were seasoned really nicely. If/when I order again I will definitely ask for extra guac, I enjoy a bit more creaminess than what was provided. And, I would probably bring my own chips and salsa next time. Individual at the window was amazing. I think this vegan burrito was definitely a hit, just needs some customized tweaking during the ordering process for me to really get what I am looking for. read more

It's ok, For Mexicans it's 3.5/10 in comparison to authentic Mexican. Not a fan of rice or pico or guacamole being most of the burrito and less on the meat. That's a giveaway that it's about profit and not feeding your customers. It's like when a burger joint has a hamburger where the lettuce is thicker than the patty. read more

My last review was for their burrito bowl which left a lot to be desired but after giving this taqueria another try, I had to update my review. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and oh my yum was it good! The chicken was so flavorful, juicy and the cheese was melted with it in perfect queso harmony. I took it to go and it even tasted great after 10 minutes of sitting in the container. The service is always so nice and makes me feel like they truly care about their customers. I'm going to try this place one more time before I give them 5 stars just to get my average rating but next time I'm craving Mexican food, I will be sure to keep them in mind. I do see that this place used to be called El Paso so I'm not sure if anything besides the name has changed or maybe it's different owners now? read more

Hands down best Mexican food cart in town! Been there a couple of times and plan to put it in my eating out rotation. El Paso stacks up quite strong against most of the Mexican food in Eugene.
