We were served by the owner (very cool, honest, and confident man) in a cozy space that was spotless and smelled amazing. We paid cash and he reduced the price because he didn't have to pay a transaction fee and he passed those savings down to the customer (honesty). The dude clearly knows how to make tacos (confident). And when we expressed the level of "oh my god" we were experiencing, his face beamed with pride (cool). He's been there for 3 years and I'm livid that I'm only just discovering him. I wish I could give this place more stars. We moved to Eugene a year ago and this is one of the first places we went out to eat. Even after exploring more, it's our favorite. My daughter loves the chicken, their salsas and taco sauces are amazing, and every new item we try is perfection. The man that I believe is the owner is so kind and helpful. He seems to take pride in the place, and works SO hard. The shop is decorated in cute decor, and since it's always busy can be tough to find seated. Highly recommend. read more

Lokos knocks it out of the park again! Service is awesome... really nice people, and they are friendly and helpful! I ordered the birria tacos again, this time with the HUGE handmade masa tortillas they make. They are so good. The pickled peppers, carrots and onions add a little bite.., and really amp up the flavor. The consommé is good too (just needed a little salt for my taste). I have tried a number of places that are supposed to have good Birria here in Eugene, and so far... I still think Lokos is the best. read more

If you're looking for a great burger, Eugene Burgers is the place to go. We stopped in while visiting from out of state after someone recommended it, and it was well worth it. The burgers were cooked perfectly, the ingredients were fresh, and everything was full of flavor. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and provided excellent service from start to finish. It's easy to see why this place has such a great reputation. I'll definitely be stopping by again the next time I'm in town. read more

Service is always friendly and helpful. This little restaurant packs a punch though. The first time, I tried the birria (one large one, two small ones, different types of tortillas) and my husband ordered a variety of tacos. Everything was cooked just right, loved the extra crisp of the fried tortillas for the birria. The larger one was LARGE. I was very full, and to be honest after most of that one, I was done with the birria haha. It was just too much for me. Wasn't bad by any means. The next time we came we got tacos to go, again, a variety. Every flavor has something going for it but I'm a carnitas fan these days. Pollo always seems too bland lately no matter where I go. I've been wanting to try this place for a while but it's not in our neck of town. Finally made it over for lunch. I got the two "tako plate" with asada and carnitas. My husband got an asada burrito and my daughter got a tostada. Everything was great. We felt that everything wasn't too greasy and was seasoned well. There were three hot sauces. We tried the green (guacamole salsa) and the rojo. Both were tasty and not that spicy so I could douse my tacos in them. The meals were garnished with cucumbers, radishes, and escabeche. Unfortunately going here has ended for me due to my experience over the weekend. The service was friendly but the food is another story. My sister was in town, my mom and I came to order basically just several tacos, carne asada, for $3 happy hour. I hate to assume but, not even an hour after eating, my stomach hurt like crazy, so did my sister's, my boyfriend's and my mom's. A better-than-the-rest taqueria spot amongst a sea of other taquerias on River Road. It's casual, and the staff are always friendly and accommodating. In addition to standard taqueria items, they offer specials (tamales, menudo) that are worth going for. The birria tacos are a standout menu item. The guacamole, salsas and veggies are fresh and the protein options are higher quality with good portions of meat that aren't full of fat or gristle. They have a nice cooler of drinks (including Jarritos and Mexican Coke) and popsicles in addition to fountain sodas, and it's a pretty casual vibe with tvs on and local folks visiting during dinner. read more
