I was always neutral about Neiman Marcus meaning I was not impress with it nor did I hate it. What I have experienced at the Giorgio Armani counter will forever linger in the back of mind. I have never dealth with such rude, condescending sales assiociate before. When I first arrived, Rebecca did not even acknowledge my friend and I existence. Then when she finally greeted us, she was very condescending. I informed her that I need to match for the Giorgio Armani foundation and that I prefer a matte finish. While she was matching me, she was trying to cross-sale me some more items such as the primer and skincare. I told her that I do not use primer any longer because I do not see a performance difference. She stated "of course, there's ALWAYS a difference when you use a primer..." I appreciate that she's trying to translate her years of experience, but it matters how you say and not what you say. She let me know there's a promotion going on saying that if you buy $150 worth, you'll get free samples and etc. I bought well over $150. I am a student and trying to budget well. When I asked how much am I up to, She replied she does not know and she wasn't aware of the prices. She also applied my foundation streak-y meaning that there's probably previous foundation and she didn't not clean her brush before it touched my face. The store was closing and she suddenly had the urgency to leave. You can tell by her actions. My friend was asking her a couple a questions and she brushed it off. She threw puchased item bag on the floor then proceeded to throw what is necessary inside the bag. Basically, she threw all my "luxury" good on the ground. Quite the balls of steel she had there. She told me that my Bergdorf Goodman Card did not work, but her coworker got it to work. This shows how incompetent she is. I am highly disappointed in this experience and possibly will never return. If I am buying something in store, I'm coming for the experience. Please don't give me any rubbish technological-challenged sales assciociates. read more

I almost never shop at this store, however, I almost always park right outside this store at the Galleria. This means that I need to walk through the store to get to the mall. No problem, right? Wrong. I've been looking online for a new work purse for MONTHS. Finally, I find someone that mayyyyy work, but am unsure about it. Fast forward to a few weeks later, I'm on my way to meet up with some family at the mall and am going through Neiman, as usual. However, as I'm coming up the escalator, I notice a familiar product from the corner of my eye. It's the purse I've been eyeing for the past several months! AND it's in the sale section! Thank you good lord, I think to myself. However, once I pick it up, I feel that it may be too big for my small frame. A sales woman standing by says "that's a beautiful bag" (well, duh). Her and I then begin chatting about my concerns. She in no way tried to push me into buying the bag. She disagreed that it was too big for my frame, but did say that I shouldn't purchase it if I don't love it. She was so easy to talk to and even showed me other options in my price range. It was just such a great experience to work with a sales associate that was nice, helpful, and not pushy. I ended up buying the purse I had been eyeing, and am very happy with the purchase and the experience overall. read more

I've shopped at NM for years and always treated myself to lunch in their stylish restaurant on the 3rd floor. Not again! Something has changed & not for the better. First, there is no longer an elegant hostess to greet a guest and escort them to their table. Instead, a waitress stands in who isn't trained as a hostess. Cordial, but disinterested - do you know what I mean? Service has slowed and food not up to par. For ex, one scoop of dryish chicken salad was plopped on bread with one sliver of lettuce and one cut of tomato. I picked up the sandwich and it fell apart from dryness. The waitress never returned to check on the meal. The restaurant was not full; yet it was the time when it usually was very busy. With exception of 1 waitress, the others stood around near the door of the kitchen talking with each other. I waved my hand countless times for attention because of an invoice problem. My waitress ignored me until she finished her part in the conversation. When she finally came to my table, I asked her what was going on because clearly the restaurant had changed. She said they had a new chef and the management now wanted them to stay open to 8pm when there are no guests. They also had done away with the hostess position. This is an expensive restaurant now cutting corners and losing its image. read more

I don't know what it is about NM, but every time I shop at 1 of their stores, I'm disappointed. Be it the store experience, ambiance of it,merchandise selection, its value, sales staff, it just seems to be well below the 'norm' or what a person would expect in a high-end retail establishment. Sales staff do need to be polite and knowledgeable, not ones who seem lost in a discussion. read more

I've been shopping at Neiman's for years. But lately I've been shopping other places. The Houston Neiman's has to be the worst, almost every single employee is on their cell phones. A few look up be rarely is there a greeting they just keep texting. Surprising management allows that. Wonder how much that pays. The employees not on their phone hover over you so it almost impossible to shop, no matter where so turn there they are it's like you are being stalked. Awful experience read more

Generally I view this place as where I go when I need something very high quality and am willing to drop a considerable amount of money for it. I expect impeccable service for these prices. My most recent trip here was no exception. I was here for cosmetics. I stood at the counter looking at mascaras in particular. I was acting interested and a lady at the counter noticed me right away. I thought she was going to ask me if she could help me, but instead she looked at me and said, "you're just looking, right?" I looked at her, thought for a minute, and said "absolutely" and walked out. How incredibly rude and offensive. I was planning on purchasing any product that she could sell me on, but after that question, my plans quickly changed. I will not be back anytime soon. read more

I heart Neiman Marcus although the customer service is always a hit and miss here. Just depends on who you get. I used to have a personal shopper here but I don't think he works here anymore. Other than that, its a great place to get your high end items such as Chanel, Christian Louboutins, and more. read more

Not a favorite place to shop, unless it's online. The associates are QUITE aggressive and it always makes me want to run out screaming! When I shop, I want it to be laid back and relaxed. I don't want people coming up to me every five minutes asking if I need help. No thank you. read more

I use to avoid this store since they didn't accept Mastercard or Visa. But since I found a couple of shirts I liked and I was ready to whip out cash for the purchase. The sales associate, Samira, informed me that Visa & Mastercard have been accepted since Nov. 1, 2011. WOW, too bad I wasn't informed of that info in the few times I have been in since Nov. 2011. Their loss was Nordstrom or Sak's gain in purchases from me. Neiman Marcus does sell good merchandise just above their competitors, but their credit card policy acceptance had always been a turn off. I received great service from Samira in the Ralph Lauren department too. read more

This Neimans has the best shoe selection I have ever seen! I've only been to the one in Beverly Hills and Newport Beach. I was so amazed how they have so many shoes and the sales people where no where to be seen or breathing down your neck. Nothing is more annoying having those sales associates watching your facial expression as you look at each shoe to see if they need to pressure you into buying it. This is a new standard and I will never step foot in a Neimans in the LA area ever again! Great store overall and very friendly staff. read more

Be careful with your contact information here. I bought a single item and have since then been continuously bombarded with mass emails from Neiman courtesy of associate Sara at Armani Beauty (service was poor by the way). Even though I've opted out at least 4 times including getting a confirmation page now I still continue to get emails 5 months later. read more

I have ordered two sweaters, once came fine the other was the wrong color, style and size even though receipt was correct. Tried to contact NM by chat - went from being 23 in queue to 2 to 10 - finally started "chatting" and person disappeared. Phone doesn't work either. 15 min alleged wait time. Much longer. For the $$$ - I expect MUCH better! read more

A visit to this store is always very positive. The products carried are very nice and the attention by the sales personnel is second to none. The reason for the four star is more about the people who work at Neiman Marcus more than anything else. For me it is like going back in time and receiving the service at a business that is more a rarity today than common practice. read more

Bottom line is this: I was in town for a few days, needed a specific pair of shoes for an event the following night in another city. They didnt have my size...however, another store did. Unfortunately, this was mid afternoon... Past the cut off time for overnight shipping. But after some fanangling and excellent customer service (yet also annoyingly be told that "an exception was made"), my shoes were on their way!...and, most importantly, on my feet the next night. read more

I really like NM and find the service and selection to be very good. It is easy to work with one sales associate and she will take you all over the store for clothes, shoes and purses. I particularly like that they now accept all credit cards (have done so for about a year now). So I can use my Amex or my debit card. read more

Exquisite treatment at the handbag department! The SA were extremely eager (in a good way) to help pick out a purse for my mother and myself! They took into account as to what our style was and what we were looking for and found gorgeous purses for us both. I was ready to buy my first Louis Vuitton so came to yelp to read the reviews, when spending that much money I wanted a good experience. So going to the actual Louis Vuitton store didn't seem to be the right choice after reading negative review after negative review. As other reviewers stated their experience at NM was much better.... I will definitely agree. The sales person was very friendly and patient with me while I made my decision. He then boxed up my purchase nicely & explained the return/exchange policy to me. All the sales people in that department were very friendly & I would recommend anyone wanting a Louis to go to NM & not hassle with the snobs at the actual store. read more

Man, you talk about being stereotyped. I went in for some work shoes with my husband and I get that we may not look like the average Neiman Marcus customers but it would be nice to keep your comments to yourself, sales associate, Eileen Sheikh. I was trying on Tory Burch flats and she had the audacity state "Are you just shopping for fun or for work?" Uh...excuse me? Does it look like I want to spend a busy Saturday afternoon just trying on shoes for fun? I firmly stated "I am shopping for work." After my selection, I pulled out my AMEX card, to her surprise again, she took everything to the back to process payment, came back out and said "if you spend more money, you get a free gift." At this point, I'm like, just give me my shoes and card so I get the heck out of the store. So before leaving, I sarcastically stated "Shopping was so much fun." Some people go too far to judge. My thing is, keep your prejudices to yourself and HELP the customer. You never know who does what or who has what. I may not spend my money here again. I'll see. read more

I have shopped at NM for over 20 yrs now. Yesterday, 4-14-12 I went in just to spend my 50.00 gift card. I purchased a 38.00 bottle of Fresh fragrance. Needless to say I had to get the box of cologne myself without any help from the leaching sales associates. Was it because I had on capri jeans and a simple blouse? Other times I've been dressed very sophisticated. So, I hear what everyone else is stating, about the mistreatment. I might add the older lady in Fresh (dark hair lots of make-up on her wrinkled face) looked at me with my 50.00 gift card and said," Can't use that here". I typically go to Michelle, and unfortunately she wasn't there. What is going on at NM....I believe someone in upper management needs to revisit with the sales associates about how to treat the real customers. read more

This store has the best customer service I have ever experienced. I bought a pair of sun glasses from this store, about a year later I came in to get the same pair since mine had a little scratch on it. i regularly buy high end fragrances from neiman marcus and am always a little bit annoyed when i leave. on a particularly memorable occasion, i was trying to decide on a fragrance when the salesgirl made a racist joke to me. i couldn't believe my ears, so i asked her to repeat it. i guess she saw the expression on my face, because she then said 'nevermind.' i turned around and went to saks to buy the same fragrance. this and other occasions with me shopping in this specific department have been negative- i seem to never be treated as a serious customer- presumably because i have the wrong color skin or am wearing the wrong thing. really ridiculous because a) this is texas and i expect to be treated with southern hospitality and b) this is a high end luxury store and i expect to be treated like the paying customer that i am. i should state that i do not experience this lack of professionalism in the clothing department or the shoe department. this is fragrance specific. read more

I had ordered Christmas gifts online. One item was cancelled. I was not notified. I don't know what happened. Another two items were put on backorder. When I did get them they were the wrong color. i love this store.. but is no brainer the thing is that you gotta have the bucks to buy everything you like!..;-)

I went here to purchase a Louis Vuitton purse because like many others I read reviews before shopping/dining ect... I read horrible reviews about the LV store inside the galleria, so many bad ones that the want for the purse almost went away. Looking further into wether I should buy it online or find another store I really wanted to be able to inspect my bag prior to purchasing. So I decided to come here. Johnathan S. went above and beyond to help me with my purchase. Assured me that my purchase is guaranteed satisfaction. He rolled out the red carpet for me and treated me extremely well. Yes, I know what you're thinking, he's just trying to make the sale. But do your research and find out on your own like I did, what the sales associates actually make on commission....That being said, I'm very ecstatic that Johnathan was very helpful and knowledgable about the product. I will be returning to this LV for future purchases and hopefully if Johnathan is not there, I encounter the same type of service. read more

Used to be uptight, snooty & rude, now just overpriced - but much more polite about it. Once in awhile worth the trek to find $tuff no one else is selling yet, but usually better stuff can be found shopping online or elsewhere. read more

I did valet parking yesterday and when I received my car, the back bumper was completely wrecked. Then the guy was like "oh yea, I need to talk to you about that. If it wasn't for us to put the stroller into the trunk, we would've never checked the back and who knows if they will claim the fault after we leave Neiman ...will update on the claim after we sort it out. Hopefully it won't be too much trouble. read more
