We had a home energy assessment yesterday with Shawn Hourihan, who arrived timely, was very professional and personable.

Mark took whatever time was necessary to air seal in our unconditioned attic, install baffles, and also ensure that the insulation which was poorly placed on the surface was cut down properly so it could be in contact with the attic floors. I don't know how much energy savings air sealing will do for me as my newer house was already pretty comfortable before embarking on this project, but I am confident that this project has been completed in the most competent manner possible. I did receive quotes which were a lot less than Mark's, but still chose to hire Mark for the job since he seemed like he was going to take the time to do it correctly. After seeing how big a job it was, I really don't feel confident someone would have been able to do the job right at those lower quotes. The project ended up being about 4.5 days of work where Mark had to crawl through insulation for many hours to get the job done.

Endless Energy - Framingham MA - Fujitsu Heat Pump repair by Endless Energy

Endless Energy

Endless Energy installed a Fujitsu heat pump system in my home in October 2022 through the Mass…read moreSave program, and it has never worked properly since day one. From the start, the system constantly shut down and threw error codes. We were actually told by their team that shutting off power to our entire house for 30+ minutes to reset the system was an acceptable solution--something we had to do multiple times per week (and sometimes multiple times per day). That alone should have been a huge red flag. Winters were even worse. We haven't been able to use it at all during the coldest months and were told that just happens in New England winters. We've been forced to rely heavily on expensive oil heat while still paying for this system. They attempted a few fixes over the first couple years, including installing a surge protector, but nothing ever solved the issue. The system continued to fail repeatedly and has now been completely unusable since December 2025. We recently had an independent electrician evaluate it, working directly with Fujitsu, and the system now needs a new compressor and control board. Even more concerning, it appears likely that the root issue may stem from the original installation or wiring--something that was questionable from the start. The installers often seemed inexperienced and had to call others for guidance several times during the install. To make matters worse, Endless Energy now wants to charge us just to come out and diagnose a system they installed that has never worked correctly. They are apparently under new ownership with significant staff turnover, and at this point have been completely unwilling to take responsibility or meaningfully help resolve the situation. After 3+ years of issues, missed work for service calls, ongoing loan payments, and thousands spent on backup heating, I have zero confidence in their ability to fix this. I would strongly caution anyone considering using Endless Energy.

I've never left a negative review before, but I felt this needed to be shared…read more I had a brand-new LG mini split system installed in 2022. Within 8 months, it stopped working properly and was only blowing room-temperature air in both heat and AC. A technician came out, diagnosed it as low refrigerant, and repaired and recharged the system under warranty. Now, just a couple of years later, I'm experiencing the exact same issue again. After testing, they confirmed it's once again low on refrigerant--but this time I was quoted $2,500 for repairs because the 1-year labor warranty has expired. I declined the repair and was told a manager would follow up, but I never received a call. This appears to be an installation issue that was never fully resolved--just temporarily fixed with a recharge the first time. Unfortunately, I had referred Endless Energy to several others after the initial install. Based on this experience, I can no longer recommend them. I would suggest finding a company that stands behind their work and properly resolves issues the first time.

Some here have gone into detail as to how you can screw up a basic insulation job, so I won't repeat it. The number of screw ups and amateur work quality was more than I've ever seen in 30 years of home ownership and contractors work. The highlight: they core drilled through structural 2x4s inside the wall, under window framing. Who the F does that?! Everything from communications, to quality of work, to damages, to explanations, to billing / paperwork, slop/mess/clean up, it goes on. Ghosting communications to the office and field lead. Yes, they came back to fill in the various areas where they put NO insulation at all in several wall cavities...but, really, how do you just miss that unless you've been on the job for about a week. The only reason I got them to do that was I got a temperature gun that showed several places where it was a cold wall... They came with a IR image gun and verified various empty areas. What kind of training and qualification do they go through? and oh yea, one of the crew wanted to sit in my hallway for long periods of time, because his feet were very cold and he had nothing to do. When he was 'working' he was on his phone talking and texting non stop. I am not making this up. On each of two crews, there was one person of the three that was competent and able to communicate reasonably well, and two who were not. They meant well, but just not up to the task. Find a real insulation company with a real crew of adults.

They were hired to upgrade an electrical panel and install and heat pump hot water heater. From the beginning, there were some red flags. The wrong team (insulation) showed up for an energy audit for HVAC services. I was sent a quote intended for another customer - and it took over a week of back-and-forth with three people to get the right quote. Still, I signed up because I've had some sub-optimal experiences with small contractors, and the larger Homeworks organization appealed to me. I was also buying the convenience of one-stop shopping for MassSave and Heat Loan processing. Big mistake. One year update: 1) Heat pump hot water heater does not work. 2) I have been bounced-around to numerous people. In total, at least 20 people have been involved in the installation of the hot water heater. 3) I ended up directly managing the subs on the project (plumbing and electrical). This was done out of necessity, not preference. 4) A final electrical inspection was done, and then re-scheduled twice because the electrician didn't have a process for accurately recording project inspection status. 5) I am convinced that decarbonization/electrification efforts in progressive states like Massachusetts will fail if my experience is at all indicative of what it's like trying to replace gas-fired equipment. I should note that the quality of the work performed, once it was performed, was quite good. The issues with Homeworks are less about the work done in the home and more about the people working in the office. This company is in desperate need of restructuring, overhead reduction, and a stronger focus on operations. It would be a good business school case study. If you can find good contractors, I recommend hiring direct and navigating rebates and Heat Loan financing on your own. Avoid the Homeworks morass if you can!

The owner of this insulation business has been doing business for 10 plus years. He was cordial and polite with his responses. Well let me tell you, I am glad I used fast insulation. Him and his team came in early today which was Saturday morning and knocked out the project in 4.5 hours. There workmanship was absolutely awesome and professional. I had them buy the insulation and products to do the job as this is there business and they know what to get and order based on the square footage. They got to my house and from beginning to end they never stopped working. I made them breakfast and brought it to them as they never stopped working and figured they deserved some good energy food to continue the good work ! There price was WAY better then any of the other companies. They took the job and showed up on time and completed the work. My attic was warm and cozy within hours of them leaving. Insulation is the way to go if you don't have it . I am sure my fuel bill will go right down now and my heat will stay in my house and not out . I research and price out anything I have to do to my house. This company truly will do a fantastic job ! I give them 5 stars 100 percent ! Again, all the other companies prices where way higher then any of the others. The bottom line is there work is neat and they come and do a professional job.
