There is a reason Polar Bear is the #1 insulation vendor for Mass Save. Not only did these guys have the earliest availability than the three contractors I shortlisted, but they worked around my work schedule and holiday travel plans to do my whole house insulation project - which I greatly appreciated as winter was just around the corner. As other reviews mentioned, Curtis and his crew carefully protected our (brand new) hardwood floors with lots of tarps, threw plastic over furniture and vacuumed after each day of work. Our home feels so much warmer and I am already seeing savings in my gas bill! I couldn't be any happier with their work. read more

Polar Bear Insulation - Went from 8 inches of insulation to 19! - Insulation Installation Near Me - Lawrence, Massachusetts

Polar Bear Insulation just completed work on our townhouse, and we couldn't be happier. Peter visited our home beforehand to assess exactly what was needed, and his crew was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and communicative throughout the entire project. They explained each step as they went, which gave us complete confidence in the work being done. Highly recommend. read more

Polar Bear did amazing work insulating our house. The quality of the work and professionalism we experienced were top tier. Highly recommend. read more

Peter was a very relatable "front man" who handled the front end of the business. He knew what we needed, and he helped us navigate MassSave. Curtis was a huge asset on-site asking questions, directing traffic, and wrapping up business on the back-end. Curtis, Steve, Isaiah, and others were amazingly respectful in-house ... they laid down mats on the floor, let me know what was going on as it was going on, and this next part may sound like "not much" but I am amazed at how not-noisy they were. For instance, I was home the entire time, and they brought up I-don't-know-how-many two-by-eights and I never heard a thing come through the front door, up the stairs, or up the ladder to the attic. The final result had a small snag, and Curtis cheerfully came by the next day to finish it off, and I was grateful that it was barely even a conversation -- he just heard me, saw it, and did it. Anyway, highest marks to Polar Bear. You'll be in good hands. read more

Polar Bear came to insulate our walls and there was an issue with some bulging of our internal walls. The good news was that Steve stayed on top of things and rectified the issue quickly without me having to chase him down. Very responsive and well done. read more

Peter and crew were awesome. From my first conversation with Peter to the end of the project, he was professional, knowledgeable, honest and timely. He communicated frequently regarding the timeline for completing the work. The day of service, his crew showed up early, where very thorough and left the work area clean. Peter even showed up to make sure the crew knew what to do. I already have been able to feel the difference with the added insulation. I would 100% recommend Polar Bear Insulation. read more

Speechless! I cant not express how pleased we were with Polar! From the first interaction setting up the appointment with Peter in the back office. The promptness of he workers which is very hard to find this day and age. They were in the home for two days and went above and beyond. In fact I think they left it cleaner than when they came. They explained everything in detail what they were doing along the way. Highly recommend them! read more

Polar Bear Insulation was an amazing company to work with. They returned my phone call within a day and came out to do an estimate the next week. Our attic was a very tricky setup due to being an old house with tough access to the eaves. They came up with a great solution and got us right on their schedule. They did an amazing job air sealing and insulating the attic. Our house has never been so warm. We no longer have icicles and ice dams on our eaves from the heat escaping and melting the snow. They also left the house just as clean as they found it. Due to the location of our attic access, they had to walk through the entire house. They put blankets /tarps down along the entire path and vacuumed their way out of the house. Highly recommend! read more

Curtis and his team were fantastic! Very professional and worked extremely hard to get the job done right, even when we hit a couple speedbumps they worked to find the solution. Great job! read more

We went through the MassSaves program and chose Polar Bear based on previous reviews and proximity to our house. While we found the MassSaves program a little confusing to navigate (in part because we also took advantage of the HEAT loan financing option), Peter from Polar Bear made his end of the job as easy as possible. Zach and his crew arrived on time on the appointed day with an additional crew due to a cancellation. The ENTIRE TEAM of 6-8 people were courteous, respectful and attentive to every detail. It's a stressful process to undertake on an old home but their experience and professional came through at every opportunity. They finished two days early and continuously reviewed their progress with both my husband and I several times a day. I recommend being home for the entire process- we experienced some typical complications (as we would learn) that required our attention each day. read more

Polar Bear Insulation - Five stars! - Insulation Installation Near Me - Lawrence, Massachusetts

Peter and his team were awesome. They were timely to respond to my questions. They came on time to do the job and did it quickly and efficiently. Peter even took the time to check my attic insulation at my request. The result of the work was felt immediately. Extremely happy with Pilar Bear Insulation. read more

We had a home energy assessment done through Mass Save back in December. As part of that assessment Mass Save assigned Polar Bear Insulation to our project. Polar Bear showed up at 8am Monday morning and finished up around 3pm on Wednesday afternoon. These guys work in a meticulously clean fashion which is not necessarily easy given the task at hand. They also worked their butts off!!! They completely air sealed our home and insulated our barren crawl space and attic area which had almost no insulation since the house was built in the mid-50's. In the 2 days between when they left and me getting around to writing this review we have had 2 of the coldest days of this winter. Days like these we would typically have our heat cranked up and the boiler would work overtime nonstop. NOT ANY MORE!! The house is comfortable and much more easily regulated with the Nest Thermostats...also installed by Mass Save. I cannot recommend Peter and his crew enough for anyone looking for an insulation contractor...whether through Mass Save or privately. read more

I highly recommend Polar Bear Insulation. Through Mass Save, Polar Bear insulated my entire house. Attic, walls, basement and crawl spaces. The process was seamless from start to finish. Curtis, Steve and the crew insulated the entire house in 2 and half days. Each day, they came on time, did the work and always cleaned up the area worked on. Curtis would always explain what they were doing each day and then would show us the work upon completion. We appreciated that every crew member wore a mask when inside the house. Pete, one of the owners, came each day to oversee the job ensuring all work was completed as promised. It was great a great experience with Polar Bear Insulation and I would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of insulation. read more

Peter performed the Mass Save energy audit insulation work and was great throughout the process. He arrived promptly, performed all the work he said he would according to plan, showed us each step in the process, answered questions. He was fantastic. Additionally, his staff were polite and neat, cleaned up after themselves as they went. I highly, highly recommend Peter and his crew, they are fantastic. read more

We recently used polar bear insulation through mass saves. Crew was thorough and professional. The process was explained well and it was finished in a reasonable timeline. Crew is inside your house quite a bit so finding an insulation company that you are comfortable with is important. My wife was home most of the 3 days and felt safe around the crew of "normal" guys. Best part is they were honest and deducted cost of service based on any areas previously insulated so bill was half the quote. Overall nice experience. read more

The Polar Bear Insulation crew working at my house were fast, clean, and professional. I could instantly tell they were experienced when I saw them working with my old aluminum siding. They knew what to look for in my home and taught me a lot on the initial walk through. They insulated the entire house, walls, attic, crawlspaces, and two steam pipe systems! Even though Polar Bear Insulation's work won't be seen from the outside of my house, like a a new coat of paint, it will be seen in my lower heating bills!! Thanks Guys, -Joe A Lawrence, MA read more

After having a Mass Save (virtual) home energy assessment a year ago, I took their list of approved insulation contractors and checked the local ones here on Yelp. And based upon the posted reviews, I gave Polar Bear a call. I immediately liked the fact that, in addition to being a decades-old family business, the owner actually answered his own phone. I explained to Peter that I would need to schedule as far out as possible, within Mass Save's completion deadline, because I needed to empty 43-yrs of family "collecting" from this attic/crawl-space that's been "out-of-sight, out-of-mind" for so long. So, even though it would likely be a one-day job, he booked me for the last 3 work-days before the deadline, just to play it safe. He told me that there was a possibility Mass Save might extend the deadline for completion. Mass Save did, in fact, extend the deadline twice and Peter called both times to see if I wanted to change my appointment and I did. I spent much of this time gathering all the info I could find from online sources like This Old House, etc. about the work to be done. As a result I asked Peter if he could come check-out the job beforehand. He took the time to visit & answer all my questions, which was a great relief. Because the Mass Save assessment was "virtual" (by phone), the original quote only included the attic. Peter determined that my walls were also insufficiently insulated and submitted the info to Mass Save to have that added. He also arranged for the necessary approval inspection. I was still a bit concerned that 2 guys would be able to complete all that had to be done. But once I saw James & Matt go to work, that concern was gone! They had a system and seemed to know each-others' every move. They worked incredibly hard, in thoroughly oppressive heat & humidity. These guys are truly impressive!!! They finished the attic the first day and returned the next day with a 2nd crew to do the walls in a half day and thoroughly cleaned-up. Though I refer to Yelp reviews frequently, I think this is my first time posting one. But I feel I would be remiss if I did not write this one. Need I say that I highly recommend Polar Bear Insulation? read more

I'm writing this for my grandma. She had her whole house insulated 2 weeks ago. She was very impressed with the crew and their work. The team was very thoughtful and skilled. They explained the process of what they were doing the whole step of the way. Also, the on site manager was AWESOME! After they left, you couldn't tell that anyone had come and gone from the house. She had a very good experience with this company and recommends them. read more

Great service from these guys Peter, James, Frankie (might be Freddy) are very professional, wonderful and skilled. Each step of the process was well explained, all of our questions were answered. They showed up a little before 8am and left around 3 or 4pm. From beginning to the end it was a wonderful experience. When they left it was as if they never had been here. We thought we would have to replace some of the shingles they took off to blow in the insulation but they did a great job at keeping them all in one piece and putting them back. It Doesn't even look like any of them were taken off. They did an amazing job! The temperature in the house is much better and easier to regulate now. We had to wait several weeks for our appointment but it was worth the wait!! read more

This company was great to work with. They always called back right away. They came when they were scheduled. They were fast an d efficient. I felt like we were in really good hands; they always kept us in the loop and were happy to answer any of our questions. Now that insulation is done, there is no trace they were here except the cozy warmth! We had it blown in everywhere but you can't even tell. We're very happy and would recommend this company to anyone. read more

Got my house installed in a single day. Everything was explained properly, and the total bill came out lower than expected.

This company spent two days installing insulation as part of the MassSave energy upgrade. Curtis and crew did a great job! Curtis explained each step of the installation and advised of any changes made from the original contract. I particularly liked the way that he and his colleague cleaned up each day before leaving. He was very respectful and informative. I would definitely recommend this company for insulation installation. Thanks Curtis! read more

Multiple shingles are ruined and there area noticeable holes all over our house. If we were informed there would be so much damage to our house we may have reconsidered the work through MassSave. Now, we need to get shingles replaced and have the house painted again. The bill was less than we were quoted, which was nice, but with the extra work we need done it will wind up being more. read more

By far the best in the business all around. They have insulated 2 houses for me and have over delivered both times. They arrive on time and complete the work correctly in a timely manner. Peter and his crews are always friendly, personable, and professional. I recently had a question regarding heat loss into my attic and was looking for solutions on how to handle it. Peter came over the very next day and took care of it. Polar Bear is my go to company for insulation work. read more

MassSave sent Polar Bear to insulate and air-seal our house. They've been *terrific* - a bunch of nice guys, who explained the entire process, and did exactly what they said they would do. There was even one step that they didn't have to do. They explained why, and removed it from the bill. Before they left, they even vacuumed up the insulation dust that got into the closet where the attic hatch is located. The air leakage in our house was reduced by 40% according to the blower door test at the end! Having received residential energy auditing certification several year ago, I know how that test works, and all I can say is that I'm amazed they got it down that far - it's hard to do with this style house. Now we can sit back, relax, and think of all the heat we won't to be sending to the great outdoors when winter rolls around ... and all the money we're going to save as a result! If you haven't called MassSave, yet, it's entirely worth your while to get the great subsidy on insulating and air sealing your home. Put your tax dollars to work for you, by making your home more comfortable! And if you're lucky enough to get the Polar Bear crew, you'll be sure to save the most you can save for your house. read more

recommended by the Mass Save program. I suggest you find someone else. Very difficult to work with and disrespectful to their clients. Also didn't finish the job hired for. read more
