The day for insulation was in December and supposed to be first thing in morning - 2 hours after a no-show I called. I was told their truck broke down; they never called or communicated that- and my husband took time off from work and was waiting at the house for them. Finally they came after Christmas and blew in the attic insulation. My husband had to take off work again as he wanted to be present and check the work. The guys left as he was getting a flashlight; the insulation wasn't enough so, they had to come back. After multiple calls/texts to Jesse B., they made a return trip. Another day where my husband had to wait and work remotely. This time it looked ok, until there was snow melting on the roof and my husband went into the attic space. The insulation was sparse in places and it needs to be an R-49 - that's what we paid for. The company agreed there were spots that were not covered. Fast forward to this Monday where my husband again was waiting all morning for them. The text he received said that the insulators would be there within an hour. That was around 7:30 in the morning. They finally pulled in at 1:25 pm. -my husband is going to have to make up the time missed from work. This company has poor customer service (they don't respond unless repeatedly contacted), a bad work ethic (quick in and out and poorly done) and I wish that I had done more research before hiring them. Tom called the next day to make sure I was happy with the results. A business owner myself, I respect other business owners who go out of their way to ensure customer satisfaction. Piss poor communication - never knew when/if they'd be here to do the work. Can't get them to reveal who the licensed plumber and electrician who worked in my house was, and I think it's because they did the work themselves, which has me worried and is illegal. My new bathroom sink leaks. The toilet, which they supposedly "sanitized", was covered with, well, you can guess. Still cleaning up after them. I don't know what the plumber who recommended them was thinking, but I won't have him back after recommending them.

I had 12 windows installed by American Building Technologies, and this was one of the worst…read morecontractor experiences I have had. The installation crew itself was excellent--hardworking, polite, and professional. My issues were with management, particularly Jose. We agreed on a specific brand and style of windows, including three large living-room windows. When the order arrived, I was told they could no longer do the three large windows, but the price was not reduced. I was told the remaining windows would be installed and the large ones reordered. When the windows came off the truck, I immediately noticed they were not the brand we had agreed to. I contacted Jose and found him dismissive and disrespectful. Because my old windows had already been removed, I was told these windows would be installed and the correct ones ordered later. An inspector was then sent as though the job was complete. Every installed window failed inspection because the required safety glass was not used. The proposed solution was to replace only three windows and apply safety film to others to meet code. I am now left with windows that were not what I agreed to purchase, that failed inspection, and an unresolved dispute over the correct windows and pricing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend American Building Technologies. I am also very disappointed that Mass Save refers homeowners to this company.

Working with these guys has been a complete pleasure We did…read morea super insulated design on this project. We started by having PA come in and apply 2" of closed cell foam on the entire building envelope. Then we applied a 1.5" layer of Dow Board strips over the studs to provide thermal bridge blocking. Then we had PA come back in and fill ouT the stud bays with open cell to provide a very tight and well insulated package. These guys do such a nice job. They take pride in the work and leave the job site super clean and neat when done. They take the time to protect the building elements that need to stay clean. Over all an excellent experience and I would recommend them to peOple looking to do it right.
