I mean that was above and beyond. That was so sweet. Another employee held a jacket for me while I was shopping. What a lovely person. The make up and clothing are brand name products. They have Lancôme, Kylie Jenner, and Victoria Beckham. They have a lot of designer clothing and petite clothing on sale. I have bought everything from clothing, makeup, luggage, sheets, and small appliances at Macy's. It seems like what ever I need, I can find it at Macy's.

While the standalone men's store across the District line is now sadly gone, the third floor is now the men's department and has just a good of a selection as the old store. What I like about Saks compared to Neiman Marcus or Bloomingdales is that Saks still has a top notch, high quality private label collection of menswear basics. In addition, their sales can be great, especially on the private label clothes. The new parking lot arrangement is very odd. When you park you have to scan a QR code, pay for parking, and then Saks can give you a discount code inside that makes it free. It's a lot of steps for what used to be just handing over a validation ticket. Given that the clientele here skews quite old, I can't imagine this change has gone over well. If you are a regular customer, your sales associate can register your plate and then you don't need to go through this whole rigamarole each time.

Anyways, I did it, after being on hold for 20 minutes, the other representative was just as clueless, did not ask for any information. Once I told him it was an amex card, he told me they only handle visa and mastercard transactions. Now I need to call Saks again to find the subsidiary that handles their amex transaction?! What a horrible waste of time, and inefficient workflow. They should have audit logs in place for their representatives to access and understand what went wrong. They just had zero explanation and wasted my time for nothing.

I've only seen the area from the highways that are tree lined. I am quite amazed by how out of touch I was for this area. This mall is quite expansive. The one thing I love about the DMV area is that the malls are still thriving. Not to the point where every single store is filled, but no where near dead mall territory. I had some time to kill before I had to head back home and wanting to pick up some items. Parking here had me. I wasn't sure where would be the best place to park. I ended up in the outdoor lots and didn't even want to mess with the parking structure. As a note, early here means you will encounter a slew of parents with their children in tow. Be careful and mindful in the parking lot as they will be everywhere. The mall had a bit of everything in here. The typical anchors and national chains you would expect to find in a mall. Food court area was jammed with eateries and customers. I opted to not eat here. Would definitely come back. Especially on a lazy day. Good people watching, enough stores to grab whatever you might be thinking of getting, and ample parking.

It's hard to believe that the malls in America are dying when you see how crazy busy it is at the Mall. I couldn't find parking until I parked closer to the old Sears lot. And that was during a weekday well after Christmas and New Year's too. My nickname at work used to be the Mall Rat Haha! The stores here aren't as exciting as they used to be. Whole Foods is a reason to come to this area (they also validate for discounted parking). There are also some nice restaurants such as Capital Grille (fully validate), PF Changs (no validation) and Maggianos (across the street). Bloomingdales is near PF Changs. There are other high end retail stores on the block. The parking garage at Wisconsin Place is approximately $3/hour. Look for street parking first (not just because it is cheaper). The garage is usually quite full so you'll need an extra 15 minutes just to circle and circle inside the garage. Take a picture of the level you parked your car to increase the chances of finding it again. Take your parking ticket with you since you can pay at the automated pay stations near the elevators.
