I have only been here a handful of times but have always had great service! Recently the past 2 visits I worked with Paris shes in intimates and I really love her energy. She is grounded and helpful and makes the tasks of finding a perfect bra for you her goal! From a customer/employee standpoint she can "read the room" and really gives you whatever services style you desire. The first time i met her I wanted to be in/out and didn't even wanna explore and she was helpful and made it fast, then this time i had more time and i loved that she listened to how I wanted the bra to feel/fit and she had me try on a few to see what i was working with and then said Ill be back and had 4 perfect options for me! She wasn't pushy or overbearing , she asked permission to help me adjust into my bra properly (i have a very full bust) and as some who dreads bra shopping with a large chest she made me feel seen and comfortable. And again aside from this experience i always find this store very chill and helpful when i do pop in. This is exactly the customer service I expect when shopping at luxury department stores! This review is not specifically for a Bloomingdale's store, it's more about Bloomingdale's overall. I ordered three pairs of men's hokas running shoes online, but they only shipped two pairs. I have called their customer service number multiple times and filed multiple claims. However, Bloomingdale's will not issue a refund or a replacement because they say that since the package arrived, there's nothing they can do. The other thing they can't do is provide proof that all three pairs of shoes ended up being shipped. Their system is horrible because you can't actually talk to the people who review the claims. If I could give them zero stars, I would. p. s. If you want an actual person to review your claim with Bloomingdale's and not a bot, you have to call their number. If you submit it online, it will just be auto reviewed by a bot. read more

How can anyone complain about this store. It is a rare gem from another era. The store is physically elegant. The merchandise includes lots of items exclusive to Bloomingdale's. The staff are welcoming and offer serious help, if you are really interested. Don't complain because the online purchase you made didn't fit and the return was refused. STAY AWAY FROM ONLINE ORDERING FROM HERE!!! 14 days is unsatisfactory given I purchased something from your store to give as a gift and when I received the item the seal was broken and almost half the product was gone. Disgusting that your facility didn't have some quality check before sending that. I purchased that for a gift and now have to wait, I didn't expect this to come from a high end store at all. There different brands and depts for women, cosmetics/fragrances , shoes and men's clothing. They had love music outside and other cool activities going on when I got there. My daughter enjoyed chatting with her and trying on clothes. We will look for her the next time we return. The store is a great place to visit and walk around in when it's hot or freezing outside. And it is convenient it is right next to the Whole Foods so you can do grocery shopping after. read more

One of my saddest shopping days was when Bloomingdales in White Flint Mall closed. Man that mall and that department store was just great. No more alas. When Bloomie's in Chevy Chase opened, I was a bit disappointed. They only focused on high end designers names; I guess to compete with Saks and Neiman Marcus, and the Shops at Chevy Chase (they had a Barneys there). Years later, the shops at Chevy Chase is an afterthought (almost all of the stores are gone), and while Saks and Neiman are still there, it seems the store manager listened to its critics and start bringing in I would say the mid-tier designers, like Boss, Theory, and a whole section on jeans and casual clothes. They also have a good section for fine jewelry too. For lady designers bags like Gucci and LV, you will have to go to their Tysons location. Their housewares and domestics section carries a smaller selection compared to Tysons. Speaking of, this location feels a bit cold, austere like, compared to their Tysons Corner location. At least you can get your parking validated here too. Now, bring in Magnolia Bakery, like your flagship location in NYC. Now that would be awesome, or the smell of Mrs Fields cookies like you had in White Flint! read more

Once upon a time I loved shopping at this Bloomingdales. This, however, was my third physical visit to this location in the past 6 months and customer service was abysmal. I ended up purchasing almost everything online instead because I was so disappointed with the shopping experiences. Each time I have visited the handbag/accessories department there are plenty of sales associates standing around talking to one another. However, they never seem to ask if I need any assistance. Please explain to me why I have to track a salesperson down for 15 plus minutes just to try on a pair of sunglasses? Why am I going to give someone a commission who cannot even be bothered to say "hello"? THIS is why department stores are closing their brick and mortars. I purchased a day moisturizer from Bloomingdale's in Chevy chase and when I got home I realized I already had the same item at home. I do not go near that store often so decided to call the customer service line on their website and was sent a UPS label to return the item. I do not recall getting a receipt however never received my refund. I called many times between the store and the customer service lines and was promised they would "look into it" and "get back to me". There was no follow up. I continued to call and got a total runaround. Was told the store would help me and then the store said customer service would help me and I have yet to receive my refund. It was over $80. Very disappointed in the customer service that Bloomingdale's offered or lack there of. Not sure I will retrn to shoppng there as I am so disappointed in this store. I grew up in NYC and Bloomingdale's was my "go to" store for most things. It is literally impossible to reach anyone by phone in any department in this store. I have tried on two occasions, weeks apart, during hours the store was open, to call and find out whether they carry merchandise I'm interested in. There is an endless automated menu that will, no matter which options you choose, route you to a conclusion where you will be left on hold and eventually told, via a recorded voice, that no one is answering at that extension. Why would I go to the trouble of driving all the way there if I can't verify they even carry what I'm looking for? read more

I was in need of a suit to attend my grandparents memorial, but didn't want to wear the old worn, tattered suits I had, so I stopped by bloomingdale's explained to a gentleman in the suit department what I was looking for and his reply was, "oh no..no..no.." Very poor customer service. The product was defective and wanted to exchange. Nobody is available to assist in the jewelry section. 30 min after waiting,someone finally helped me. But she was not friendly at all and super slow for just simple exchange process. A week later, they shipped the exchange item. But they sent exactly same item as I returned. I decided to cancel the whole order. To make it worse,they refused to refund to original payment method and offered the store credit. Customer service is DYING in this location! I went to buy a scented candle as a gift. One sales lady helped me checking out the $50 candle while "trying so hard" to keep an eye on a customer who was talking to another sales lady asking for a bag, which is more higher $$ value than my purchase. Okay, apparently she is not interested in servicing me. Fine, I took the candle to gift wrapping AKA customer service. 4-5 people were standing in gift wrapping causally and chatting joyfully without greeting customers or providing any directions. Eventually, one of them helped me to check out for this $10 gift wrapping service and actually did the wrapping. The rest of the team were watching. It feels like I was so wrong to interfere their chatting. Suggestions to your Head of Customer Service: There are some coaching opportunities there! Went in looking for a limited edition item and although they didn't have it IN the store, multiple people tried to help me find it on the store's site, and when we did they helped me order it. One lady at the Estée Lauder counter even gave me a mini Spanish lesson when she realized I was trying to learn. I left feeling great about my purchase and my shopping experience. Since my first encounter, I have been utmost impressed, and as a result, I am now a loyal returning customer even venturing through the treacherous traffic that Maryland has to offer to reach this wonderful location. Since my introduction, I have made several purchases from Bloomingdale's in Chevy Chase. Fortunately, for me, my original interaction was due to a mishap by another Bloomingdale's location. This particular mishap opened the doors to another level of service I had not at all expected. The Chevy Chase staff went above and beyond, something I have since found to be their standard operating procedure, righting all prior mistakes. Staff: Some of the most down to earth and caring individuals I have ever encountered in the customer service industry. They truly listen to your needs and make suggestions, leaving you not only feeling heard but valued as a consumer. It is as if they see a return customer rather than making a quick buck. I have had the pleasure of dealing with Remzee - on multiple occasions. Remzee is truly a beautiful human being in all sense of the word and is an absolutely terrific saleswoman truly focused on the overall customer experience. A+ service and commitment to her trade. The best part is that the buck doesn't start and stop with her, I have also encountered management that strives to focus on instilling such values, something that is seriously lacking at many other competing establishments. I ordered something and went to pick it up yesterday around 6:15, thinking I could easily do the curbside pick up. A sign outside the store said to dial '2' for pick up, but that just sent me into a phone tree. I gave up b/c I had nearly 0 battery life left, and holding meant I'd lose service. I went upstairs to get my order and the tall woman manning the desk stayed on her call w/a customer for about 9 minutes. Oh, these two were yucking it up on the phone. Anyway, when you're standing there waiting, it feels like an eternity. When she finally got off the phone, she turned to me and gave me the driest hello. She went to to get my order, and when I looked inside my brown bag, my special gift was missing. If you purchase $35 or more of merch, you're supposed to get a gift of your choice. It wasn't even worth mentioning to someone who looked at you like you were a nuisance. On a scale of 1 - 10 with 10 being the best service, I rate them a 3 and won't be giving them my business. read more

Though I live closer to Tyson's, I have to say that my trip out to this Chevy Chase store has made me realize that I've been missing out. 1.)The brand assortment is WAY BETTER at Chevy Chase. 2.) The sales team is more friendly, helpful and less pushy that Tyson's Corner. I purchased a Theory leather jacket at Tyson's, and the salesperson lied about there being a size 2 at Chevy Chase and size 0 elsewhere. I called up Chevy Chase, and the sales woman called back with the jacket for me to try on. It was too big, so she ordered me the size 0.... I probably will just go the Chevy Chase now. BTW, they validate parking, so no fear about the paid public parking sign. read more

I've given this location plenty of chances and now I'm officially done. A few bad apples spoiled the bunch. This location has some of the most stuck up sales associates I've ever witnessed! One associate just stared at me but never asked if I needed help, but proceeded to help others. Checked out some handbags and the associate there followed my every move, as if I was trying to steal. I was in the area and stopped in to buy a bottle of Tom Ford Oud Wood perfume. The rude associate acted like I was distracting her and she couldn't be bothered with me or my questions. In fact, she was speaking to me as if I was about to frivolously spend several hundred dollars on a product that I wasn't educated about. Clearly, she was clueless and not educated about the Tom Ford label. Despite her rudeness and ignorance of the brand, I didn't feel like schooling or arguing with her. Though, sometimes I really wish I had just a tad bit of hood-rat in me, because she pushed my buttons that day. But, being the classy lady that I am, I said thank you and left the store. I later found what I was looking for at the Tyson's store and all was good. As a consumer of luxury fragrances, I've grown accustomed to receiving a level of customer service commensurable with the brands. Sadly, that level of customer service and knowledge didn't exist on my visit to this counter. To start off, I need to say that I have had nothing but good service in dealing with Bloomingdales customer service online recently. After having to replace a couple items from my wedding registry through them, I have been extremely pleased with their customer-focused approach and policies. I have really come to appreciate their customer service in light of dealing with other companies at similar price points who sadly do not have the same standards. This review in particular is in response to a disappointing experience I had at the Friendship Heights store. I do not live near a Bloomingdales so schlepped one of my wedding registry items across the country to return it in this store when I was in town (note: I now know this is unnecessary, as I have had more recent encounters returning items online). On the occasion I was in, I waited in line for probably 40 minutes to return my one item. I tried going back and forth between registers to find someone who was available, but no one was. The lady working was apologetic that she wasn't free yet. Finally the lady who was putting together a display told me that I could go to the Customer Service desk for return my item. I walk over there to find multiple free attendants who took care of me in a couple minutes. If there was some kind of communication between employees in backed up lines and free registers, this could have saved me a whole lot of time and frustration. read more

Nice new store but the service at the cosmetic counter was bad. So bad. Of course the cosmetics counters area was dead. Why do people think that giving bad service deserves high tips or commission? I went to get some items because of a good promotion for gift with purchase. I wouldn't shop for cosmetics again at this location. A lazy-ass woman with attitude at the counter I went to really disgusted me. At first the sales associate did not even want to acknowledge me and was more busy with other sales personnel buying some items. I walked around the counter about 5 times then a crazy women walked in and she didn't hesitate to be acknowledged so what did this sales associate do? She rolled her eyes at her because she was focused with the other lady who was buying something most likely with a staff discount!! So the sales associate from other counter walked by to help her strangely I must be transparent. That sales associate became mad that her customer was "taken" but she ignored me still. Then another sales associate came to me asking if I needed help. The sales associate who was in charged then started to wake up so suddenly my sales associate was gone. While I was looking around she was mumbling that she couldn't wait for the gift with purchase promo to be over. Then she asked me if she could dump all the gifts together because it was apparently too difficult for her to put them in the promo cosmetic gift bag. I spent over $100 to get two sets of gifts one for my gf so I selected all the things she would like. What was suppose to be a 15 min in and out became over 1 hour. I knew I shouldn't have trusted her lazy-ass attitude that she would have done it right. WRONG! She took wrongs items for each bag. How difficult was matching items on a piece of paper to the items? I couldn't help feeling exacerbated by the situation after all that. Yeah right like I wanted to go back for the exchange? I would NEVER go back there again. read more
