Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I rented a suit from this Men's Wearhouse location (8514 Fenton St, Silver Spring, MD) on December 12, 2024, for an event in February 2025. I canceled the rental on February 3, 2025, and was promised a refund of $202.46. Over 3 months later, after visiting the store more than 10 times, I still have not received my refund. The employees, including the manager, repeatedly gave me false promises, excuses, and contradictory answers, but no actual solution. They wasted my time and showed zero professionalism or accountability. I eventually had to escalate the issue to corporate just to get a response. The next step will be reporting to BBB and my bank if I don't get any response from corporate. I strongly recommend avoiding this store location. They do not honor their word, they mishandle refunds, and they show complete disregard for customer service. read more

Overall, I had a pretty good experience at this Men's Wearhouse. The young fellow from New Orleans did an excellent job in finding and sizing a last-minute suit for a family function. All the employees seemed pretty friendly and very helpful. Although I do not purchase suits on a regular basis, I thought the prices were pretty fine. While they did not have as many styles as I would have liked (mainly because of my own time [and size] constraints), the wearhouse had a decent selections. Fortunately, tailoring took a couple of days; however, I was a bit shocked that they charged an express fee of around $30 to hem the pants. But, hey, I guess that's the business. Suits aside, I did see decent casual and business casual wear that was not too expensive. I might have to stop by again to check out some of these items in the near future. read more

I normally go in here when they have sales on something I need. They have an OK selection of dress shirts and other things. They normally have a decent selection of sale items, whether its pants, shirts, or sweaters. I've never had a problem with the staff, yes they can be a little pushy to sell you other items, but honestly what salesman isn't a little pushy? If you want to wear MC Hammer parachute pants to a wedding, then by all means, shop here. Let me back up. I was a groomsman in one of my best friend's weddings a few months ago. We had to pick up our tuxedos at a Men's Wearhouse, so I picked the S.S. location because it was closest. When being fitted for the pants, the "tailor" or "associate" or whatever measured me four sizes too big. She was clearly doing it wrong. I'm not the smallest person in the world, but I'm clearly not shopping in the portly section either. She then undermeasured my torso for the vest. I repeatedly told her she got the measurements wrong, but she insisted the pants were adjustable. I let her know that while the pants were adjustable, she overshot my waist so much that adjustments wouldn't matter. She then called over her manager, clearly the Tweedle-Dum to her Tweedle-Dee, who took her side. Now, where I'm from, the customer is always right. But I shrugged and assumed they knew what they were doing. NOT! When I finally got the suit the day of the wedding, the pants were entirely too big. HAMMER PARACHUTE PANTS. Horrible. My movements on the dance floor were restricted. I managed the best I could, but it definitely hindered my fun. The only thing that saved me were my resourcefulness and an open bar. I've heard that some of the other MW in the area are way better run and know how to measure people. Please save yourself the trouble and try those ones out. This one is horrible. read more

From a customer service standpoint, this place is a total shit show. I rented a tux for a wedding, when I show to pick it up the goddamn thing has khaki pants in the bag. These assholes actually tried to tell me thats the way I ordered it and there was nothing they could do. By the way dickheads, even if I was an insane person who wanted to wear khaki's with a tuxedo jacket, I wouldn't need to rent khakis. I don't mean to brag, but I already own a pair of khaki pants. To their credit, they replaced the pants but not before making it clear that it still wasn't their fault somehow because "The ticket says you ordered it that way". The vest was too small and I wasn't given a tuxedo shirt. Whatever, I was able to make do. When I brought it back I mentioned the shirt and asked if I had paid extra for a tuxedo shirt. The guy working simply told me that yes, it was a tuxedo shirt and then handed me my receipt as fast as he could to end the conversation. So they got my $120 to rent a fucking tux from them, but that's the last money they'll ever get from me because they're a bunch of assholes and for some reason their store smelled like brussel sprouts. read more

Two stars is being generous. I like Men's Warehouse as a chain and frequently shop at the Connecticut Ave. location. The Silver Spring location, however, needs some work! Besides their relatively poor selection of designer suits, the attitude of the staff here is terrible. For reasons that I don't understand, staff at this location thumb their nose at customers. On my last visit, I overheard a salesman complain that shoppers were unfolding jeans at a nearby table so they could take a look at them before buying. ??!! Come on, guys. Not sure if being arrogant to customers is a management directive (seems that way), but you work at a discount suit retailer, guys; get over yourselves. read more

Phoebe was an extremely helpful salesperson who listened to what I was looking for and didn't overly pressure the sale. I went in looking for a couple suits, a few slacks, and potentially an overcoat. I walked away with everything I was looking for without paying more than I had planned. Men's Warehouse always has a wide variety of deals that get you in the door, but I often feel a sense of anxiety about whether those deals will be elusive once I'm in-store. I felt that Phoebe was not just trying to make a sale but trying help me to be a satisfied customer. I'm looking forward to picking up the suits, slacks, and overcoat. read more

I always shop for my business and formal wear at MW. I own about 2 dozen suits because I like the quality and value. This place was a bit disappointing from a service standpoint. Earlier that day, I drove from Maine and I needed to get a few shirts and pants to start work in a few days until movers arrived with my stuff. I was ignored for about 20 mins and was being courteous as the staff was helping others but not all of them were busy with customers. Some just looked at me and did not even bother to ask if I needed help so I finally asked for help. I inquired about a few pants and shirts for their sale racks, and was happy with what was put together for me. When I checked out, I was told the brands I got was not part of the sale which obviously, was uncool but I didn't want to go through the fitting again - after a 13 hour or so drive, I wanted to just finish up my day. They did rush the finishing on the pants so I had a snack at the nearby whole foods ... Didn't expect the tailor would take an hour and a half for 3 pants. The pants turned out to be loose at the waist, so I do need to take them back in for an adjustment, I just don't think I have the energy. I will probably come back but if you are reading this and you work for MW, know that guys like me come in to your store because we really just like to wear worn out jeans and dockers and cheap shirts - we avoid buying our nice clothes at Walmart because we need your help to look good so if we walk in your store looking like we just finished mopping the floor at McDonald's, help us. THIS IS THE WORST suit experience I've ever had. And to all that sware rhat mens warehouse has nice suits, I'm only going to guess that you've never went to a respected dealer before. To match there horrible scratchy clothes and poor tailored assortments, they charge you a two arms a leg and a baby and with a pissed off attitude to match. If your going to spend men warehouse money, spend it at your local suit shop for a decent suit and then take it to get it tailored. And avoid getting tailored at your local cleaners.(which is where I'm sure MW found its tailor. Take it to someone with a reputation and look like a professional, and not a saggy bag of balls. Generally, it wouldn't be my first inclination to visit Men's Wearhouse for clothing as I consider them more for tuxedo rental, but this location has a large selection of men's suits and casual wear. The purpose of our visit was to purchase a matching vest and tuxedo shirt, but managed to turn the visit into a one-stop shopping opportunity by having suit alterations performed and purchasing a pair of shoes also. The help staff took a bit of time to help us, but once we had their attention, the service was extremely courteous and friendly. I perused the selection of men's clothing and it is worth looking into if you need to look good for a casual date or to a formal wedding. read more

Absolutely fantastic, wonderful service! Consultant Donald Lewis is amazing. I came in looking to get a formal suit, shirt, and tie I could wear the same day and he more then came through. He not only found a suit that fit well, he got it hemmed in time (and found me a sale to boot). Knowing I would be pressed for time, Donald even pressed my shirt for me. Mens Warehouse as a nationwide company is great. Great service and an affordable product for what you're paying, but this location is definitely the exception to the rule. I give it 2 stars simply because I've had one good experience there and 3 bad ones, otherwise i'd definitely rank it lower. The problem at this location is their staff, they just dont care at all about helping you or getting you the right thing, just about making the sale. Additionally, this is the kind of place where they act like they're doing you a favor by helping you, and are in no way interested in keeping customers happy with the service and wanting to come back for another visit. Of the staff I've encountered, theres pretty much one good suits guy and the manager is somewhat helpful, but the rest seem rude and incompetent and like they're being FORCED to be there as opposed to being paid. I recently had rented a tuxedo from them, and after not only telling the salesperson who was handling my rental my sizes in jacket and pants but SHOWING him a jacket and pants that I was wearing FROM mens warehouse they still managed to give me a Jacket that was 4 sizes too big and pants that were about 2 inches too long and dragging on the floor the entire night. Overall if you're in the DC or Silver Spring area and looking for a tux rental or business wear, I'd suggest going to Joseph A Banks or any of the Mens Warehouses downtown in DC, this one is definitely avoidable. read more

I walked in the shop and looking for a suit for my husband, a lady was hospitable and trying to show me where I can find the size. After it comes a black man ( Probably a manager.) He started making fun of my voice by raising his pitch since I have very low and broken voice because of inflammation of vocal cords. I asked him what's wrong with his voice then he finally got back his normal voice. He didn't try to bother of showing me suites and just walked away. read more

The service here can be hit or miss. I can honestly say that I have always gotten great help from Seth. He was very helpful is picking out some blazers and when I came to get my rented tux for my wedding, which was too big in the jacket and too short in the pants, Seth helped me out quickly and had it all taken care of in two days. The biggest gripe I had was with their chains policy of charging just as much for a kids size tux as an adult tux. Are you serious? It's a quarter of the fabric! Mens Wearhouse as a nationwide company is ok, the suits are ok for value and ok for quality. I prefer Joseph A Bank for a bunch of things, but not for tuxedo rentals. Mens Wearhouse had the combination of nationwide service and selection and price that Joseph A Bank could not compete ... for renting tuxedos. This specific location was previously not always a great place to shop, but it seems to have improved a lot. If you deal with Ryan for buying suits, the service, knowledge, and attitude are very good. Dealing with Amber for a tuxedo rental (can be a little slow) has good service with a helpful and friendly attitude. Bottom line, I trusted them with tuxes for my wedding and they came through with good quality, good value, and good service. I just went back to get a suit from them and was happy with the experience. read more

He pretended to care about helping me find a good fit but was quite absentee (~20 mins after asking for his help.) I was just one of two people he was helping. We were getting down to the wire in terms of finding suits for our June wedding, and we hadn't had any luck finding what we wanted at any of the other stores we tried. After striking out at Jos. Bank, we decided we might as well give Men's Wearhouse a try. I have very mixed feelings about our experience with this company overall, but my rating was bumped up to 3 stars based on the great in-store service we received and how happy we were with the suits we ended up choosing. At first, we were looking for very light tan suits for all five men in the bridal party to wear. We expected these to be easier to find since it was the summer season, but alas, even Men's Wearhouse wasn't carrying that color in any brand. We asked one of the representatives -- David Melton -- for help, and he was more than happy to assist. He pulled out a few darker tan suits, some of our second choice color gray, and also asked if we would consider trying on cream-colored suits. We said sure, why not, and though we were skeptical going in, the suit looked absolutely incredible on my then husband-to-be. He let us know that the suits were marked down quite drastically since they were no longer going to be carrying them, which made the full suit only $150 each. When we found that out on top of how classy and gorgeous they looked, we absolutely couldn't say no. From there, David helped us pick out matching shirts, shoes for my husband, and some cream-colored ties, as I requested, for the men. He gave great input on what would look best together in all the pictures and ended up being completely right about everything. Thanks to him, I think the bridal party actually looked even better than they would have with the color we originally wanted. His spectacular service was the saving grace of our visit, but we did have a few issues with the way that this company worked. First of all, it is completely ridiculous that such a huge and famous store would not have a single suit in any shade of light tan during the summer season. The bigger issue, though, was in the delivery of the suits. They were supposed to be shipped out to the individual guys, who are spread out across the entire country. Instead, they were actually shipped to the closest Men's Wearhouse, which for some guys was quite a significant distance away. The suits took a very long time to arrive, even though we had given the date of the wedding and been assured they would arrive much sooner. Then when they did arrive, the men almost all needed alterations because the pants did not match their actual size but only whatever the manufacturer thought matched the jacket size. That was a huge fiasco for the guys that luckily got sorted out but only after a lot of extra, unexpected effort on everyone's part. In the end, I am very grateful for the wonderful service offered in the store by David and truly happy with the products we got. The hiccup with the deliveries and miscommunications did knock down my rating, but overall they did a solid job of getting us ready to walk down the aisle. read more

It seems as if this Men's Wearhouse location has gotten their act together based on some of the reviews posted. I have been here a couple of times already and I have not had any problems here at all. The attendants (Wayne & Tim in particular) attended to me when I needed assistance, the tailor appropriately made the correct alterations to my suits so I don't resemble a new generation MC Hammer, and the overall experiences have been good to say the least. I have bought clothing and accessories ranging from pocket squares all the way to suits from this specific Men's Wearhouse location, and I would say that I've felt satisfied with my selections. The spring is approaching quickly, which means more appearances to Men's Wearhouse will be made in the near future. read more

We had a wedding appointment reserved and then were not helped for 45 minutes. The saleswoman got my wedding date wrong as well as three groomsmen names wrong and then couldn't figure out how to correct it. They also couldn't give me a straight answer about time we had to pick up and drop off, so imagine my surprise when my brother went to another location to get his tux and was told that the pick up and drop off dates we had added an extra 150 dollars per rental. Don't fall for the "Buy 1, Get 1 Free" sale thats advertised as good for the entire store. The shirt I picked out was for the "everyday collection" and was exempt from the sale. This was not outlined anywhere in the store. An employee even showed me to the shirts and didn't mention anything! I came in with my fiancé, sister and father to pick out my dads tux for my wedding! Let me tell you, the people who work there are AMAZING! We went to the Rockville location beforehand and it is a night and day difference experience! Everyone at the silver spring location were so enthusiastic, helpful and attentive (even with a store full of customers). I totally recommend coming here if you want a 5 star experience with professional men and women who will make this experience a breeze. Besides them wanting you to buy the whole store which is annoying they still push even when you tell them exactly what you and nothing else. Then they bring everything I looked at to the register like I actually wanted it. They don't listen to the customer. My suit was suppose to be ready in a week. The day I was suppose to pick it up (hour before) they call and said it is not ready and short a seamstress and need three more days. You just realized this the day it's suppose to be ready? Not very proactive except for taking your money. Plan way ahead of your going to buy here so your not stuck without your merchandise when needed. read more
