Gap's a pretty great clothing store. Their locations are about the same from location to location, but this is the one I've come to for ages. They sell fashionable clothes (at least, they're fashionable to me) of very good quality at reasonable prices. If you're looking for something more upscale than Old Navy, Gap's your stop (which makes sense, since they're owned by the same company). The men's section has a lot of variety in sizes, which is great. That said, I do notice a larger amount of 29-32 waist size pants compared to larger sizes. Ah well. The employees are pretty helpful, but they don't really approach you unless you look really lost. Definitely look for the items on sale... you can end up getting great items for 50% off. They also validate the parking, which is great.

    School shopping done!

Unfriendly and unhelpful staff. No bathroom for customers. What do employees use? Maybe they don't have access to a bathroom either.

This is a great little shop in Lee Heights that offers high quality (though not outrageously…read morepriced) Women's fashion and accessories as well as adorable high end baby and toddler clothing. They also offer a great selection of unique gifts and other special items that you can't find at the countless big box stores that have taken over almost everywhere else here now. It's like visiting...Etsy...in person. If such a store existed of course. Obviously only a very very small, and very highly curated BIT of Etsy, but still...it's etsy-esque. In a good way. Well worth a visit. Especially for those "extra hard to shop for" and "already have everything" types. They're also great for the many miscellaneous gift needs that pop up throughout the year for coworkers and teachers and other people you might not know very well and whose gift options fall uncomfortably in between even the classiest target dollar bin options your best friends might love, and the fancier more expensive fare reserved for one's own children, close relatives, spouses... The "I don't really know what, but ideally something special and memorable and cool" gifts for all sorts of things like secret Santas, teacher appreciation, miscellaneous baby/bridal showers, office party exchanges, attempts to gain favor or acceptance from cringey or critical or perfectly lovely mother in laws...etc. This place is perfect for all of those and more. I've found awesome Christmas presents for my mother here two years in a row now, and many fun things for myself as well. Best boutique baby clothes section I've seen in the Arlington area, actually. Oh! And Scout bags galore!

Totally rad little store…read more The store screams uber yuppie. In reality it's for the uber yuppies's offspring. I'm not sure of the politically correct term for those little rug rats. Rugrats any other kids from the 90s remember that show? The store gets props for having educational toys. I noticed they did have some super old-school toys like Lincoln Logs, Tinker Toys, Legos, wooden hobby horses, fire engines and even other things before my generation. I believe I saw a Radio Flyer wagon to. Hey mom's ya feel making up for my seventh birthday? A few halloween's ago I also noticed they had some rads children's costumes. They were super cute and extremely well-made. The price wasn't bad either. They were so darn cute I had to pick one up for a special kiddo in my life. Along with educational toys this place has some stationary. Some cool school supplies if your brat is fancy like that. Another score I didn't notice a bunch of terribly terribly noisy toys. You know noisy ones that you sent your ex-wife's house. Yeah those toys. You better check the Toys "R" Us for those. I believe this place is some sort of rewards program but I don't shop there enough. You may want to ask the clerks or check with other yelpers. So if you're around the area and you realize whoops I missed my nieces or nephews birthday stop here to pick a last-minute gift.

They have a nice selection of toys for all ages! Their panda bubble machine outside is adorable! And they also have story time during the week, so cute! Will definitely come back

Located in the heart…read moreof downtown Bethesda, this store offers middle to high-end brands in casual and work lines. Plenty of Michael Stars, 525 America Sweaters, and some other more unusual very unique boutique lines. A small store with extremely well-selected inventory. But the highlight of Wear it Well, which I feel is best for women 30 and up, is the longtime owners and employees. I walked in today, told them I wanted to toss my wardrobe out the window, and they proceeded (not overselling, not oversolicitously) to help me come up with some great ideas, good combinations, and a host of things I wouldn't have picked out b/c I'm stuck in my own dull clothing groove. They really worked with me to ensure that I found some special things, and I don't think I'll toss the clothes I bought out the window with the others b/c they do push my proverbial envelope. That's what I needed. When the economy hits hard...and even when it doesn't...I make an extra effort to shop locally. Wear it Well is the kind of carefully merchandised, very well-run boutique that will earn your loyalty. Before you drive to the mall, walk down the street and visit these great gals. Watch out...they talked me into buying an absurdly expensive belt even though I don't wear belts. You know, I think it will become one of my favorite purchases ever! Plus, it's so pricey, I'm going to wear it to sleep every night no matter what.
