I mean it was hundreds of name brand sneakers to choose from. I was with my oldest granddaughter and this was our second stop for new shoes. She couldn't find a style she liked at the first store. Well, we had a moment of silence, JK, before looking up and down the rows of sneakers. She tried on several pairs and fell in love with the Reebok's. Now, I have to say that $85 dollars is the going rate for a pair of nice sneakers for a teenager. So, I think it was a good value. This is a clean and well organized store. The service we received was mostly at the checkout counter and that went smoothly. I am really happy to see the big smile on my granddaughter's face as she left with the shoes she loved.

Side note: My lovely shoe size is usually the one on display & typically they only have one in that size so you're SOL if you don't get it right away. Don't think that people with small feet have it better cause we don't lol but we can get kids shoes = less $$$ but not always as comfortable depending on the shoe. But I digress lol. Anyhoo, I crossed the bridge into Maryland trying to find these Birks bc the website said this location had them. I found the one & only box in my size but some bunghole put the wrong size pair in it aka too big! Not really sure why you take a smaller size shoe and put it in a bigger size box, but whatever. I decided to look at some other options & found these coolass beauties called Lavender Sparkle. They're more of a gray, but they are genuine leather with a super soft suede lining & they are the most freaking divinely comfortable Birks ever! FYI ~ Not all Birks are leather - they offer vegan, eva, & recycled material options as well. I love the little bit of bling the sparkle brings to them & this was a trip well spent, literally. I also got a nice pair of New Balance tennies on sale too. Hey a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!

While store features a few good brands, it is useful for trying on if you do not mind undressing in front of others since fitting rooms are locked and finding a willing store associate with keys is not something one can guarantee. If something fits you and you want instant gratification of purchase, you must stay in a line where store associate chats every customer up to demonstrate family like environment while marinating you for an hour waiting. You should consider if you want to wait or better order online. If you decided to buy, then after 20-40 minutes of waiting you are pressured through attack on why you do not want to become a member. REI, I do not want to become a member of this environment exactly because you are not considered about people. Those people in the line behind me want to enjoy their Saturday and you do not care about it. This is all I need to know. It is exactly the environment that I avoid as plaque as it is inconsiderate, often rude, entitled, pushy, and fake. I do not appreciate when you ask me to shut up and let you finish your speech why I must become a member. Today I made a good decision to leave the line while dropping whatever I wanted to purchase ($300+). A gentleman in front of me did the same thing. I saw gloomy faces of ladies in the line whom I passed on my way out and they were considering to leave as well.

Wheaton Mall is your classic, no-frills local mall--and honestly, it does exactly what it needs to…read moredo. They've got all the staples: JCPenneys, Costco, Macy's, Target, H&M, plus smaller stores like Five Below and Bed, Bath and Beyond. The food court is huge and continues to grow, with some older spots being replaced by newer options. I was first introduced to this mall in a pretty unconventional way--at a dance event hosted by Urban Dance Artistry. The space was large enough to host a big crowd and still allow for smaller performance pockets, which showed me how versatile the mall space actually is. As far as cleanliness goes, the mall itself is generally clean and bustling with a very diverse crowd, which I love to see. The only downside? The bathrooms could definitely use some attention. They can be messy and not the freshest-smelling at times. Although I do really like that they have a separate area for kids to wash their hands. I'm not much of a mall shopper these days, and a lot of the stores aren't necessarily places I'd go out of my way for. But as a parent? This place is gold. My son absolutely loves the play area. There's also a paid bounce house spot near it (which he thoroughly enjoyed), and they have the indoor train that rides through the mall--which is basically a core childhood memory waiting to happen. It's also a great spot for teens to meet up at. I love that they have a little photo booth to print out 4 pictures on a strip, very nostalgic vibes. It's also super convenient. The Wheaton train station is right there, but it's also a hub for a lot of buses, making public transit access incredibly easy. On top of that, you've got nearby restaurants, Party City, a grocery store, and plenty of other essentials within walking distance. There's even a CVS Pharmacy nearby. Overall, it's a solid, practical, family-friendly mall. Not luxury, not glamorous--but convenient, affordable, and full of things to do--especially if you have kids. Four stars from me.

In a full consultation, they will watch you walk/run on a treadmill, scan your foot, discuss their suggestions, possibly fit you for custom insoles, and bring you shoes to try on. They also have other types of running clothing, gadgets, and fuel as well. Some other reviews have noted that it can take a while to be seen-- this is true, so I try to plan my trip at a less busy hour if possible. I do think they should look into an appointment scheduling system to help combat this (hence why I took away one star from my review). Again, all of my interactions with the staff have been great. Some will try and upsell you more than others. I did go ahead and accept the VIP 19.99/yr membership, as I go through more than one pair of shoes in a year so I do find the benefits to be worth it for me personally. She then tried several pairs of shoes in various sizes, and tried to sell me a pair that didn't fit. I bought a VIP membership, and ordered a pair she said SHOULD fit, but without my approval she arranged to deliver then directly to me. Nearly a week layer they arrived and I tried to break them in over three days, an hour at a time around the house. No dice-painfully narrow. I took them back, but they still didn't have my size and again tried to sell me shoes too long for my foot! I wound up ordering a wider pair, and now this redo will arrive two days after I leave for my walking vacation. I was denied a VIP discount for a shirt on my second visit... because I was returning the first purchase (even though I replaced it with the second order). I regret I can't recommend Road Runner at this time..
