I am so disappointed with how Franklin Ferguson reacted when we were trying to bring a group here for dinner in a couple weeks. We emailed asking about a group going to dinner but since we were nervous we decided to book separate reservations and ask if sitting near each other or together would be a possibility. He told us we could do a family style reservation but with food allergies this was not an option for us. We told him we would like to keep our separate reservations and we understand we won't be able to sit together. His response was a rude email lecturing us about making reservations and then he went into Resy to CANCEL our reservations without informing us he was going to do so. We received emails from Resy informing them that Frank canceled our reservations. And he is now ignoring us. We were really looking forward to coming here but Frank ruined that for us. read more

My sister found Navy Beach in a Google search while visiting Montauk, and it was amazing. It's tucked away past some railroad tracks - somewhat hidden. We chose indoor seating since it looked like rain. Service and food were excellent - I ordered the salmon along with a clam + corn chowder. My sister ordered the edamame, which had a rich flavor, and the Buddha bowl. Dessert was a decadent key lime pie with a flaky crust. Highly recommend! read more

This establishment actively discriminates against persons with disabilities. I was denied service because I was accompanied by my service dog, they actually told me to "tie him up outside", after I refused and explained the service my service animal performs for me, they told me to leave. I asked to speak to a manager and she told me that having a dog in a restaurant is against the board of health - that is 100% false when it pertains to service animals. Another man absolutely bullied my husband while I was in the restroom with my service dog (he accompanies me everywhere, even the restroom). This is blatant discrimination and illegal in the US under ADA federal law. I have submitted a complaint against this establishment with the ADA and US Department of Justice Civil Rights Division and will be consulting with an Attorney for the treatment I received. If you have a disability, stay away, they will discriminate, humiliate and make you leave. Absolutely disgusting, the staff and ownership need training on federal laws. read more

One of the best views you will see especially if you get here around 6pm in middle of September. The key is to come about 45 minutes before sunset so you can see the whole thing. We sat on a day bed facing the water. This isn't your traditional restaurant setup but we liked it. The food was surprisingly good. I thought this place would be all view and no substance but I was wrong. The tuna crudo was very light/fresh and spot on. The yinnan ribs were also good. The kale caesar salad was probably my favorite light dish. The mexican corn was also on point and it comes on the cob which adds to the flavor. I will say the grilled avocado wasnt good so I would skip that. The drinks were also pretty good and I don't remember prices being unreasonable for what we got. Look... you aren't coming here because it has a Michelin star but the food won't disappoint. Come for the view because it is spectacular. Enjoy! read more

Disgusting establishment, came on Saturday Memorial Day weekend with 4 families each with 2 kids at 4pm for an early dinner. Place was empty, they told us they couldn't seat us until 5pm because kitchen was closed. We proceeded to buy a bottle of rose and cocktails. When 5pm came they turned us away said they couldn't seat us because "it may get busy later". The management here is scum, that isn't how you treat 16 people on a holiday weekend. Probably the best spot in Montauk to catch a sunset but the prices of the mediocre food was absurd. $14 for a glass of wine that is served in a small plastic cup....like come on. She apologized beyond. *90 minutes passes overall and we got seated. It felt like they were doing us a favor. Sat at a picnic table with no lighting. At this point it's dark out. *Food arrives as ordered. Presentation SLOPPY, FLAVORLESS, the runner bringing the food was pissed at the world as well. *The best part of our visit to Navy beach was Frozen Tatter Tots, drinks and the sunset. As a consumer, we venture out to these high end - high energy - great vibe restaurants not because we have to, because we want to. We could stay home and eat takeout or cook. The prices charged include decor, atmosphere, entertainment, the empowerment of belonging, a great feeling to want to spend more money, the magic of being on vacation with that particular hospitality group. This place does not deliver. The two most important people on staff failed, the female Bartender & the female manager with long braided hair. They should have stayed home. I hadn't eat here in quite some time and avoided it other than for drinks. I was under the impression it was overpriced and mediocre. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with the food. The truffle pasta and the halibut were great. The real standouts were the mussels and the key lime pie. Both were some of the best I've ever had. This place was an absolute treat. What a perfect way to end a July 4th weekend! My girlfriend and I were given superb service, from the valet parking to the waiter, everybody who worked here was respectful and, most of all, careful amidst all this Corona madness. This menu was outrageously priced as well as limited to one or two options. The five families and i opted to not do this option and stick with our own separate reservations. when I told franklin to forget the group booking he then proceded to be rude in the email and say I couldn't book seperate reservations at all. when asked if he could give me a call he ignored that and instead cancelled a few of our reservations. Terrible experience thanks to the manager's atrocious behavior. We had a reservation for 12 people, plus a baby, during a sunny Tuesday afternoon. They had a long table set for us, but only one sun umbrella over three connecting tables . We kindly asked whether they could install another umbrella for us, as half of us were directly under the sun. There were plenty of umbrellas in empty tables around us. The manager came out and, in an extremely rude and condescending way, told us that they don't move umbrellas to other tables. In an exchange with him, he used the following phrases: " we just don't do that for our customers- it's our policy" " you are in a restaurant on the beach! It's fine if you have have sun in your eyes" " if you don't want to be in the sun you can simply go inside" " it is my job to set the table for you, not to set the right amount of umbrellas for you" Oh, and when one of the members of our party said "excuse me sir, but..." he rudely interrupted in a condescending way and said " yes MA'AM!?" Thankfully, a very friendly waiter named Pierre saw what was happening and offered to help us. He took the initiative and together with the help of another waiter, and the reluctant manager, helped us install a second umbrella. The installation took only 5 min. It is unacceptable to book a reservation for 12 people with half of your party left to sit in the direct sun and then be that rude to your customers and refuse to accommodate them. The fact is that the manager is a rude, lazy, thin skinned, Irritable person demonstrates that he should not be in the hospitality business. I am giving it two stars instead of one only due to the awesome waiter Pierre who helped us out and saved the day. I hope Pierre takes over the restaurant one day, the food was decent and the view is great, so it has potential. read more

I should have, see the picture of the shells. The Lobster and Clam bake was 3 little neck clams, 4 mussels, 2 medium shrimp and a lobster that was under a pound. This was paired with 2 small potatoes and corn the size of what you see on a Chinese buffet. Taste was bland, quantity was ridiculous. After coming here annually for years, this visit would be my last. The service was atrocious. Walking in we were greeted and seated promptly, but the service ended there. After one employee got our water, another individual who we later learned was our server (he never introduced himself) asked for our order. He was not welcoming or helpful, but instead made us feel rushed as within the first 5 minutes of sitting down he came back asking for our order THREE times. On the third visit we decided to start with two appetizers and he responded curtly that he needs the entire order to put in at once. It would've been helpful had he introduced himself and explained this earlier. So, we quickly decide on entrees. I order the burger and he responds "How?" I am confused what he is asking, so I repeat "the burger". He repeats condescendingly, "How?" I then realized he's asking how I would like it cooked. I also asked if I could be on a separate check as I was the only one in the group not drinking and he responded bluntly NO. We were a party of 4 so unsure why he was unwilling to bring 2 checks but fine. I figured out the math and he took my payment separately at the end. From there, the food came out super quick which was great, but he never came by to ask if everything came out ok. Instead, halfway through our meal there were numerous attempts to take half full plates off the table which was disruptive and made us feel rushed and anxious. Possibly the most ridiculous moment of dinner was at perfect time as the sun was setting and the sky was beautiful, the server decides to take a break, standing directly in front of our table (back towards us) blocking our table's view of the sunset. After the sunset, all the visits to the table abruptly stopped then it was impossible to get a last drink or dessert order in as he never came back to check in. Instead, the check was dropped off without asking us if we needed anything else. The whole experience, his attitude and tone ruined what should've been a relaxing meal catching up with friends. This type of person who is clearly miserable should not be in a client-facing role. There are many other dining options in Montauk offering waterfront views and sunsets, namely Crows Nest which has a better menu and superior service. I will not be back to Navy Beach. read more

My family and I usually come to eat here every time we're in Montauk. My most recent visit was super disappointing. The drinks were alright but the food just wasn't what it used to be. The appetizers we got were the calamari salad and the burrata. The burrata is hard to mess up, so that was fine but the calamari was so crispy it was hard to chew. For dinner, I got the swordfish and it honestly looked like someone just threw the ingredients on a plate and tossed it outside for me to eat. The presentation was gross and the food had no flavor. You're paying for the setting. Tuna crudo was ok. Small portion for the price tag. Kale salad with shrimp decent - needed more dressing. Calamari salad was good (everyone else thought it was amazing). I didn't try the crab cake but it was expensive for 1 crab cake. Kids meals were big portions and well received. This is such a great place. Had an amazing time yesterday, like always even during covid. The staff and team here take all of the precautions to ensure the safety of their patrons. The staff is incredible from the valet attendants helping customers find places to go after dinner, to the hostesses, wait staff, and bartenders. Food coupled with the beach side seating and sunset vibes makes for an amazing experience. Tartare, and robs as appetizers, tile fish was incredible, and we also had the pasta and salmon over soba noodles and broth. I'm probably going to go back tonight it was soo good..haha. I don't usually write reviews but I needed to after our awful experience. The manager was extremely rude and called me and my husband "squatters". We had a reservation and got there about an hour early to enjoy drinks outside prior to our reservation. We grabbed our drinks and sat down at a picnic table outside. We were there for about 30 mins and a waiter came over and started giving us plates and water. We told him that our reservation wasn't until later and he said that's fine and they can serve us now so we were like ok great. My husband left to use the restroom and formally check in with the plan to tell them that the waiter outside said we could eat where we were sitting. The women didn't give him a chance to tell them that and proceeded to walk him to a table on the deck. My husband just went with the flow followed the hostess. While he was inside, a woman ran up to me and told me I needed to get up because she had a reservation for the table that we were having drinks at. She was extremely rude and talking down to me like I was a child. I told her we were there for a very long time and no one told us we had to leave and in fact a waiter told us we were able to stay and eat there. She told me that's not how her system works and kept telling me to get up so of course I did and moved myself and our drinks to an Adirondack chair on the beach to wait for my husband to get back. I was rattled and felt very belittled. After this interaction, the manager went inside to the hostess stand and my husband was at the front waiting to tell the hostess about our reservation. The manager then proceeded to complain to her co workers that they're were "squatters" outside at the picnic table saying that they have a reservation at 6:15 with an attitude that assumed I was lying and didn't have a reservation. My husband was up at the hostess stand waiting to speak to them and heard this whole conversation but didn't think anything of it until he came back and I told him what happened and then told me about the conversation that he overheard when he was at the hostess stand. After speaking to my husband about the situation and the conversation he overheard, I decided to confront the manager about her attitude. She was extremely dismissive and would not make eye contact with me. She blamed her attitude on it being a stressful job however, that isn't an excuse or reason to treat your customers poorly. She also insinuated that I was lying about being checked in and seated because it wasn't indicated in her system. The hostess that seated my husband then come over and confirmed that she seated us and the manager went silent because she knew she was wrong. She never once apologized for how she treated us. She clearly doesn't care about her customers. A cherry on top to an awful experience was that the food/drinks and service were not good either. I would not recommend. read more

We asked if we could just get a drink to go or sit at the bar, or wait by the restaurant and they asked us very rudely to leave and come back at 8:30. There is really nothing around so we had to just walk around until then. When we got back, it took the hostess 15 min to sit us down at the bar inside. The only good thing about the place is the view so we asked if we could sit facing outside (even if from the inside) and they said (again, very rudely, without even taking their eyes off the phone and looking at us) that everything is reserved. By the end of the meal, about 2 hours later, there were still some empty seats facing the outside. We were looking very carefully and no one was sitting there the whole time... There was another couple that got so frustrated with the attitude and just left after one drink. Wish we did the same. They also made a mistake with our food order. Regardless, the food was pretty bad and very overpriced. The only good thing I can say is the bartender was nice, he saw how frustrated we were so he offered us a complimentary drink. read more

I had dinner with friends on Sunday June 28th at Navy Beach outdoors. They are lucky that they have such a beautiful location because everything else about this place was horrible. The service was terrible as they did not bring us essentials like plates for sharing and fork/knives. The food was subpar considering the price $600 for 4ppl. It was very greasy and the quality of the meat was low. The part that was quite possibly the worst was their treatment as we were leaving. One out of the the four of us had taken her mask off for a moment and one of the employees came over and rudely demanded we leave. I guess they figured that since they had our money they could treat us like garbage. The level of rudeness was uncalled for and they should be ashamed of their treatment. I would suggest finding another place to eat and relax for the money you spend at this establishment. read more
