Hard to beat sunset views. To sit outside and get service you will need to make a reservation. If you just drop in you can valet park (free) and sit on the logs on the beach and hang out. This was a really fun place for a meal! The outdoor seating was right by, almost on the beach! The staff were great and the scenery was fantastic! There was a live band the night we were there and they were really good as well. Navy Beach tops my list of favorite restaurants/places to go. When I first entered, I was greeted with a welcoming smile as if I was visiting an old friend. His name was Joe. I didn't think to make a reservation, but he told me it was no problem. Their food is second to none. I had the halibut and calamari and I couldn't get enough. Couple that with a drink I believe was called a Hot Skinny Wench (I giggle at the name. It was a margarita and I loved it!). The menu was weak but we never got an opportunity to eat anything because the server never came. after another 10 minutes we walked out. Off the beaten path for sure...and was confused about where the GPS was guiding us. Only have valet parking (no charge, just tip) and we go there before the dinner rush right in time for the sunset. All seating except the bar is via the host stand. Got a couple of seats at the bar and would have loved to be outside however limited seating there. Our bartender was friendly and helped with information about the location. Was intrigued by the SXM on their shirts (St. Marteen) and they used to have a location there, but it was no longer there. My friends and I had a nice dinner here for her bachelorette party! Unfortunately it was a rainy day so we had to move our reservation indoors. The inside isn't much to rave about, I can see how this spot shines with their outdoor seating. Our server was super friendly and great at handling a large group. He really seemed like he cared. The menu had a solid variety of food and interesting options. I ended up going with one of their fish dishes (when in Rome) and while it was cooked well it was super underseasoned. I deleted my first review after mgt made me feel bad. After giving it more conisideration, I changed my mind. We had a resy for 4 people on July 4th. My wife (who is still sick btw) came down with something the morning of the 4th. We scrambled, because this was actually a bday weekend for her and her first in Montauk. We had to cancel the resy on the morning of the 4th. I called and left a vm and emailed the restaurant. No one responded. I understand there could be a cancellation charge, but I was sure Navy Beach Mgt would do the right thing, because I called about my sick wife and they could easily fill that table on the 4th, which I hear they did from our other friends that went--it was packed. Rather than returning my call, they charged me $120 to cancel. I complained to them and was given a snarky "we hope your family is well" bs response. I then decided to give them the review they deserve on Yelp and got another message from them, within minutes! They told me that they were in the process of reversing my charge but changed their mind when they saw my review. They also lectured me bc I told them they were terrible people for what they did considering I called and emailed about my sick wife. Unbelievable. I respect the service industry. I was in it for years. I feel for the hard working staff. My son is a sous chef. I don't need to be lectured and get passive agressive messages from any form of mgt. How about this? Do the right thing. You made a poor judgement call, and now everyone can read about it. We know what you charge for food and drinks, so give me a break. No one lost money on the 4th except us. I was able to grab a table inside which I am honestly happy about since it started to become a little windy toward the end of the night. The service fell extremely short and was only checked on once. It took forever for everything! Even our food came out lukewarm. The highlight of my meal though was definitely the ribeye, cooked and seasoned to perfection. The view from my window looking outside showed very little service and many tables without light. The sunset was beautiful to see though. When trying to pay for our meal it took forever to get our servers attention and from there it never came so we went up and paid for it at the register- which I have never done before. The "mexi corn" was offensive to real Mexican Elote. We spent the rest of the day trying to find foods to make up for our lack luster experience. We quickly found that nearly every other restaurant was divine - and got our fill of delicious food else where. Plus everything cost an arm and leg. This review may not be as scathing should it have been diner prices. The pitcher of drinks we ordered was $90, the individual drinks ($20), which essentially was cheaper - either someone made an error or is terrible at math. We walked over from our condo during the day to check out Navy Beach since we would be dining there that evening. The doors to the beach were wide open and we walked in. The staff was setting up the bar and we asked you see a menu. A man barked- "how did you get in here-WE ARE CLOSED" He was extremely rude and condescending. We left immediately. Had there not been 6 other members in our party we would have cancelled at that point. When we returned to have a nice dinner, it took forever to be served. We had several starters including the tuna poke. The fish tasted fouI-it was spoiled. The watermelon margarita was watery and flavorless. The bourbon special cocktail was even worse. We wound up here by default. Could not get a table at the other 3 spots we tried for within 2.5 hours and called here and they could seat our party of 6. In looking at the menu I noticed the prices first. Let's get the obvious out of the way first. the place is not cheap. In looking at the prices I said to myself damn, this place better be good. A $98 dollar steak? $20 dollars a cocktail? Ok. We're in Montauk. Higher prices are to be expected. I have been coming to Montauk & Amagansett for years and I have to be honest. I always found most of the restaurants we have visited as underwhelming and over-priced. I was expecting more of the same here and man, we could not have been more wrong. We ordered the Edamame, Ribs and Calamari. As soon as I tasted each, I had a feeling we were in for something special. Then it only got better. I ordered the scallops, the rest of the table ordered the swordfish, salmon and the steak. My scallops can only be described as perfect. My only wish is that there were more of them. The garnishes? Delicious. Trying the steak only made me angry I didn't order it myself. It was f--cking delicious. 6 dinners. 6 clean plates and that is not an exaggeration. There was nothing left on anyone's plate but some food/sauce residue. The food was, in a word? Spectacular and the best I have ever had in the Montauk area. We are foodies. We got amazing food, well worth the high prices. Seeing all the negative reviews here I can't understand what the people writing them experienced because that is NOT what we experienced. I am not surprised it only received 2+ stars. I took my family for dinner over Labor Day weekend and the manager on duty on Monday, September 1, 2025 was very rude. We first walked up to the hostess booth, which he was behind, and said we had a reservation that was supposed to be outside. He said there was no more openings outside but when the hostess sat us down inside, we noticed there was a lot availability. What he should've said was sorry the outside closes in an hour because as we were sitting, we found out that the outside closes at dusk. But that was the least of our problems. We were sitting next to a lovely senior citizen couple who came over to us because I had my four month old granddaughter with me. While we were talking, the manager, didn't get his name but he is a male and has glasses and his middle aged, interrupted our conversation. He started to be rude to the elder couple. He asked if they sat themselves down, meanwhile they're in the middle of eating their appetizers, because this table is reserved and you are only two people and this table is for four. The manager continued to ask the question over and over again and he was just so obnoxious to elder couple . They said that we will be done before your reservation arrives (when the family finally did come for that reservation. It was an hour later and they sat down and they walked out.). The elder couple explained that the waitress sat them down at this table and the manage kept on saying well you shouldn't be sitting here because this is a table for four and you're only two people he just wouldn't let up. My family just sat there and disbelief of how the manager was treating this lovely couple. They left and sat outside to watch the sunset and we called our waiter over to ask what drinks they were drinking because we wanted to send them a drink outside. I explained what had happened to the waiter and he was so nice and said I will get the drinks and I will tell them that is from you at no charge. Before the couple left, they came back inside and thanked us. On the way out, I confronted the manager and all he kept saying was what business is it of mine kept continually saying that it was none of my business. I said to him yes is my business because I just spent a lot of money in your establishment and didn't appreciate you interrupting our conversation and belittling this elder couple who came in to have a nice dinner. He didn't really seem to care. I understand that this is seasonal work and he was probably wiped out from the summer, but this isn't how you treat your patrons! The view and outdoor area is gorgeous, and the reason you're coming. They have picnic tables, couches and a thin bar type seating outside, and normal indoor seating. Try for outdoor if you can! You can walk on the private beach abs watch the gorgeous sunset. Food was yummy! Usually don't expect much from a place focused on location, but was pleasantly surprised. Drinks were good, (if you're outside there in plastic cups FYI) apps were good, and everyone enjoyed their entrees. Have options for probably everyone. read more

We just had a very unpleasant experience. the views are beautiful, but the restaurant, service and food was awful. The service is some of the worst I have ever experienced. it took 30 mins to have anyone come and take out drink order and our waitress was so rude and said she didn't know we were in a rush when we mentioned we have been waiting for so long. then when we finally ordered after another long delay. it took 25-30 mins to get buttered pasta for a child and the food for adults all came out at all different times. we orders multiple things and one item for a main entree came 20 mins later, very unenjoyable and we will not go back there. I would never recommend this place, there are so many better places. read more

Well. My wife had some friends from Thailand stay with us. So on the hottest day of the year we ventured out to Montauk for some sightseeing and lunch. The Lighthouse was nice. Navy Beach not so nice. We went there coz it's waterfront dinning. Not sure it is a real beach though. Anyway...The valet guys were super friendly and efficient. I mean it was a Tuesday afternoon and we were the only car for them to valet. But once inside the attitude quickly changed to unfriendly. The hostess brought us into an empty dinning room and gave us the worst seat in the house. Next to the wait station. We asked for a specific table by the window and we were told it was reserved. So we settled for another window table. No one ever showed up for the "reserved" table. Our server asked us if we wanted water. We opted for sparkling. She brought it and plunked it down on the table so hard i thought the bottle would crack. She quickly turned away and left. We were left to pour it ourselves. Ok. No big problem. Eventually we ordered. The food came. It was neither good nor bad. It was just ok. The mussels were plentiful but tiny. Very tiny. The sword fish was overcooked and very salty. The servers - we had a few - were super unfriendly. Not a smile to be seen. No offer of a second glass of wine or whatever. No offer of desert. We got the check. We were charged a mandatory donation to some charitable organization. A mandatory donation? It was only a buck but still... let me decide who i want to donate to please. Weird. (There was only one woman with the working shirt another in a bikini.) the man goes "WHAT THE BLACK ONE" this might not seem rude but it definitely felt as if he already wasn't a fan of this poor woman. He later storms off and sends another staff member to serve us. She brings us the menu, and we wait 20 WHOLE MINUTES. While the server is just walking around clearly ignoring us. We get sick of waiting and ask the waiter to come over. They tell us "oh you're not allowed to sit over here!" That was the first I've heard that! They make us MOVE. Truly the worst service I've ever received. With a 6pm reservation, my husband, myself, and our toddler had no one come up to our table well passed 6:30. I went to the hostess stand to say we still don't have a server. At the same time, my husband flagged down another server from another section just so we could get our toddler food. Still we didn't receive ANY wait staff help. My husband again flagged down someone else to place our orders. I noted on our reservation this was for my birthday. Once we finally received our food and our toddler was screaming, the food was TERRIBLE. Overcooked burger and tiny piece of salmon. We then needed our check and had to flag down two separate people to find our check. We left NO tip as we never had any help. I was stuck between 3 and 4 stars for this place but I'll base it off my experience and then add what my friends from my table went through. We had a table for 10 and according to the hostess, apparently my friend told them over the phone that inside is ok. The whole point of coming here was to sit outside. So the experience with the hostess in the beginning wasn't that pleasant. The waitress on the other hand was great. We ordered 2 pitchers in the beginning, and a few cocktails, but the sangria was totally watered down and the mule was pretty bad too. The waitress understood and took them back and we continued with the tequila cocktail, which was amazing. For appetizers we got 2x crab cake (amazing), kale salad (very good), 2x ceviche (I don't understand why the excessive amount of popcorn on top but shrimp was good), 2x salmon tartars (decent - nothing special at all), and 2x mussels (pretty good if you like sausages), and 3 tuna crudos because 2 just went through so fast and it was great. For the entrees we ordered the 2x ribeyes (medium rare and it was perrrrfect), scallops (very good), salmon (didn't try but my friend didn't like it at all), and tilefish curry (very good). We ordered 2 of every side on the menu. The Mac n cheese was great. The Brussels sprouts were my FAVE. Cauliflower and fries were good too. Now... After we paid our bill, 2 of the girls actually wanted a shot so they went to the bar to get shots. The bartenders were extremely rude, denied them a shot, yet they ended up doing a shot together in the back of the bar, and then told one of the girls from my groups that she needs to leave. My wife ordered a white wine spritzer before dinner , she ordered a second at dinner. When we got the bill , I asked what this $48 was for , the waitress said the white wine spritzers. I said $24 for a white wine spritzer, she said that's what they do. I went to the bar and the bartender said she ordered Sancerre wine , the most expensive wine in the place. I said my wife didn't mention a brand name. So the manager came over & said we will take one off the bill. This is a scam the Navy Beach is running, & the waitress is in on it . I highly recommend Navy Beach to anyone visiting Montauk. This restaurant is not on the main strip, but on the bayside of Montauk. It's very scenic, so I definitely recommend for a sunset dinner. There is nice outdoor seating on a manmade beach or you can choose to sit inside the rustic restaurant. Definitely call ahead and make a reservation beforehand. The food is delicious - My entree recommendation is the soy-glazed halibut. It's super plump & moist, served over soft sushi rice with a creamy red coconut curry sauce - YUM!
