For my main course, I ordered the hot lobster roll, and as an avid lobster roll-lover, it did not disappoint. The lobster was served in generous, chunky pieces with just the right amount of butter. It came with fries that were perfectly crispy, though I do wish they had been seasoned a bit more. The restaurant overlooks the inlet, making it the perfect spot to relax and watch the boats come and go. The staff was welcoming, and the service was excellent from start to finish. They also played great music -- that particular day they were playing country music (a southerner's dream!). Last but not least, another bonus is the location. There are several charming little shops just steps away, making it easy to browse before or after your meal. My biggest fear is it's going to be super crowded the next time I'm back in Montauk and I won't get a table. Shortly afterward, a member of management approached us and told us that we needed to pay our bill, despite the fact that we had only been seated since approximately 5:38 PM and had been at the table for about 30 minutes.We were very upset by this experience. We had driven nearly three hours from Nassau County specifically to dine at this restaurant and had also waited an additional hour just to be seated. Being rushed out so quickly, especially after being told we would have the table until 6:10 PM, made us feel unwelcome and significantly detracted from what should have been an enjoyable dining experience.The food and atmosphere were lovely, but the lack of consistency in communication and the pressure to leave our table so soon left a very negative impression.
