We had wanted to go to what's now Mary Lou's but used to be a restaurant we went to all the time on family vacations. The security guards and swarms of influencers in sparkly dresses and cowboy boots made us quickly realize this wouldn't be an option for dinner. We started walking back toward Gosman's and noticed The Dock tucked away on a side street. We decided to grab a drink at the bar and regroup on next steps. The ambiance here is very casual, its a busy spot with a large indoor bar and a handful of indoor and outdoor tables. Our bartender was a master at tending to the rush and took care of us quickly. While we were deciding what to do next, we made conversation with a local Gosman's fish monger who let us know the food here was worth staying for, and even went as far as to ask one of the staff members for the name of what the restaurant next door used to be for us as we were trying hard to remember. I'm so glad we stayed, because the food was really on point here. Clam chowder was hearty and had plenty of clams. Their steamed clams were incredible, fresh and packed with lots of chopped garlic in a broth that you'll want to drink. The star of the show here is the tuna melt: a giant fresh tuna steak served on an English muffin with cheese and some of the best fries I've had at a restaurant in ages. Glad to have made another core memory here in Montauk at The Dock.

What we got were GREAT meals, and cold wine with a beautiful setting. -Ahi Tuna: 5/5, seasoned and seared perfectly. If I'm being totally honest this may have been the best I've ever had anywhere. -Fish Tacos: 4/5, great flavor but lacking fish. Seemed to be overstuffed with filler but still delicious. -Calamari: 5/5, all rings which is always a plus for us. Seasoned great. Overall we were very surprised with the quality of the food and left very satisfied. Considering the view, location, and quality I'd consider this a great value for what you're paying. Definitely coming back

It was a beautiful day, we started with Prosecco and margarita and enjoyed the boats going in and out of the inlet. Starters were raw clams (so tiny- yum) and shrimp cocktail - big and fresh. Everything is artfully plated. As my favorite watermelon feta salad wasn't on the menu - actually a blessing - I tried the Lobster caprese salad and it was a miracle. I took a picture. My husband's fish and chips was hot, crunchy, and not greasy at all. Plenty of fries. A couple cocktails, beautiful scenery and a fantastic meal is the way that we jump start our Montauk trip. Highly recommend it. Note- there's a lot of talk about Gosmans just being sold blah, blah, blah. No worries the Topside hasn't changed a bit. No kids allowed- probably too dangerous. Not the worst idea for my serenity fix either. Cheers ! To the folks complaining about the price- you're in the wrong town. Topside is a treat for us, worth every penny !!

As…read moreothers have said here and on the Gram, this is run out of a couple's actual home and as such, there are (understandably) rules to follow. You'll pull into their driveway and ring the bell as indicated. Once we did, there were signs all over about not eating here which, again, understandable, we're in your home. Ambiance is very much to-go counter. We entered to a stressed out lady behind the counter who yelled out "it's cash only!" which I'm guessing has been an issue despite all the very clear signage. Her husband was having some breakfast at the counter and immediately told us that he knew he was breaking "the rules" (dude it's your literal home do what you want). We ordered two lobster rolls as well as clams on the half shell - the total came to $49 which is a steal here compared to other spots. The clams were extremely fresh (just shucked, to the point where there was juice everywhere in this paper container with no top which is great if you can eat it sitting down at a table somewhere...not great if you know you need to GTFO and drive somewhere in your car with it). I saw another couple take their lobster rolls to go and even though the buns were packaged separately, the lobster salad was piled into the same flimsy paper container with no lid. If you don't want people to eat in your house (or driveway), serve these things in actual to-go containers. If you're coming here I would honestly bring your own Tupperware because now my car smells like clam juice. But I guess that's the price you pay for quality seafood and an affordable price out in Montauk.

I was with my clout friend and knew it was bad when the bouncer denied his platinum clout card. I never seen it decline in my life....... They said we could order a drink and hang out on the patio, but couldn't actually get inside or order food as the kitchen closed at 9:30. The group of 10 I was with began to deliberate if we should head back to NYC or hang out on the patio for awhile and wait in quiet desperation. I didn't really care so I just lit up one of the little cigars I had and chilled in the parking lot, which was essentially an active construction zone. There were cranes, piles of lumber, shipping crates, etc. all on top of a gravel parking lot. I felt like I was on a movie set. I had a clear view of the stars too which was so humbling. Like damn I'm just here on this floating rock in the middle of the universe. None of this really matters so I'm just gonna have a good time. Moving from LA to NYC, the 2 most light polluted cities in the US, I never get to see the true night sky. It always gets me existential. We ended up dipping like 20 minutes later, but highly recommend coming here and smoking a cigar in the parking lot and pondering your existence if nothing else. Ig @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

Two tacos for $18 is outrageous, but that's Montauk for you. $9 for elote and creamy corn each, we passed on the $17 guac. Food was flavorful enough, wouldn't say it was particularly authentic. Overall good vibes/experience but would probably opt for dinner elsewhere.
