NEVER ship with Navis pack and ship of Kent Washington they are completely incompetent- And their franchise owners STEVE MAGGIED AND LAURIE MAGGIED GILLEN and employees are the absolute WORST. Actually they misrepresent their franchise so deceitfully I consider them criminal. We entrusted these people(since their webpage heavily emphasized they know how to deal with precious ART) with a 1990 RARE Dale CHIHULY 3-piece glass Pheasant Macchia sculpture, one of only two ever made, worth $50,000.00. AND THEY BROKE IT!! When they arrived to pack our belongings we stressed to them at that time the value of this art and they assured us this is what they are experts at. After they took possession of our items we needed shipped to California we heard nothing from them for 3-4 weeks despite calling them multiple times just like the other victims who left devastating reviews on yelp about them breaking their treasures. We now know from the other terrible reviews they were stalling because they destroyed our precious art and were figuring out ways to deceive us and avoid responsiblity. Our experience is exactly the same as the other terrible yep reviews if not worse. Our Chihuly left our home in excellent condition (we have pictures the day of) and they BROKE IT and did not have the decency to tell us. Instead after 3rd to 4th week of us calling them over and over on where is our property they made us pay in full and then finally shipped our belongings. Our 3 piece Chihuly came in 3 separate crates which we delicately filmed and photographed as we opened up as the gross delay made us very suspicious. The 2 smaller bowls were intact but the main base bowl was broken in 3 pieces and each broken piece was wrapped separately in bubble paper and we have the pictures and video of us unwrapping our destroyed CHIHULY to prove unquestionably NAVIS of KENT and STEVE AND LAURIE MAGGIED GILLEN broke it. We also have witnesses to it. Our family finds it unconscionable that we entrusted our valuable property to Navis Pack and Ship, they destroyed our property and then just ignore it, pretended it didn't happen and blew us off. When we called upon unwrapping the first broken chard LAURIE MAGGIED GILLEN told us it was not insured and they wanted pictures to see if they would "open up a claim." I called back asking for a copy of our contract paperwork and it was never sent. LAURIE told me they only had very little paperwork like the shipping manifest or some BS like that. NAVIS of Kent has no business advertising they know how to handle fine art, insure it, take responsibility for it or provide any form of legitimate moving service of such precious items. Their website is completely FALSE ADVERTISING and they are liars and deceitful. It has taken us many weeks to have the leading expert in CHIHULY fine art to finally schedule us for an accurate appraisal of our Pheasant Macchia's worth and get all necessary documentation. STEVE AND LAURIE MAGGIED GILLEN and their franchise of NAVIS PACK AND SHIP destroyed a priceless family heirloom and a $50,000 dollar piece of Dale Chihuly irreplaceable art. We are SUING not only STEVE AND LAURIE MAGGIED GILLIAN but also the corporate parent company of NAVIS PACK AND SHIP as one of their franchises does FALSE ADVERTISING on their ability to ship fine art. We are disgusted, heartbroken and incensed by these irresponsible, incompetent and deceitful people. We are SUING for total loss of a Dale Chihuly glass sculpture, all legal and litigation expenses, appraisal costs and to get a full refund on the $6,000 they charged us to destroy our property we placed in their care. We used Navis Pack and Ship to transport our Native American art work. Navis Pack and Ship damaged the piece then would not ship it to us for almost an entire year. We asked the franchise owner to fix the item and ship it to us. They then asked us to sign a document limiting the damages to $50 dollars but still would not ship the item. Only when we filed a law suit against them did they fix and ship the art work. We had to seek a judgment against the Franchise Owner in order to recover the damaged value of our art work. I'd actually give them a zero score. They packed and shipped an expensive and rare sculpture I trusted them with. They packed the piece so poorly, it broke in several pieces while in transit. I bought insurance from them which I thought would cover the damage but it didn't. After having to deal with this Navis owner for months (who went silent on me) along with their incompetent insurance company, I finally received a settlement which was about a third of the sculptures' value. All in all, I will never use their services again, nor would I recommend them to anyone! Horrible experience in every way. read more

Their moving men are inexperienced, untrained and unmonitored. They broke my mirror. They have taken months to get around to shipping my stuff. They got the items wrong on the pick up list. They didnt give me a copy of the list of items they picked up. They do not return phone calls. I have to drive down there to get an answer out of them and it is always BS. Im going to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office, Labor and Industries and the Better Business Bureau. Highly unprofessional. Really criminal. read more

The customer service received and interactions I had with Steve, CJ, and Tom were wonderful. The crate is the best built of any I've used. Navis is now my go to company for this service. In the twelve years I've been a printmaker, I have moved my studio 5 times. Each time has been a huge ordeal, mostly because I have a large press that is extremely awkward to move. It's about as big as a car and weighs 900 lbs. I've moved it myself once, and hired people to move it the other times. This time was more complicated, since I am putting my studio in storage for a couple of years. Navis Pack and Ship did everything for me. Steve Maggied came to my studio in Ballard (all of the way from Kent) to check out my press and figure out the logistics of getting it out of the building. We decided to build a crate with casters for the press drum, since that is always the hardest thing for me to deal with when I move my studio. Steve suggested taking the rest of the press to their shop in Kent to custom build a crate, since it was hard to determine how big it needed to be while it was still assembled. Great solution! Steve and Dennis (who built my crate) got me out of my studio in less than a couple of hours, and totally knew what they were doing. They treated my possessions with respect, and wrapped everything in blankets and secured it all in the back of their liftgate truck. I didn't have to lift a finger. Steve also found affordable storage for my press in Kent. If you have something valuable, large or awkward to move and store, Navis is a great one-stop shop. read more

Every time I'm impressed by his customer service and packing and crating abilities. Navis is the only company we work with in Seattle and we are lucky to have found them. I just had my table delivered to Texas and not only was my table top glass broken, after talking to them over a course of months, I still have yet to hear from them about the replacement. I paid extra few hundred dollars to insure for the damaged goods, and after being reassured for the replacement three times, I have to hound them about my replacement. I don't write reviews unless I'm really really ticked off, but this is just obscene. I feel like just because I give them benefit of the doubt that they would do the right thing, and that I don't try to have a yelling match on the phone you are to be ignored. Navis did a superb job on packing & crating a very fragile sculpture that I am shipping overseas. Their staff, especially Alena, are a pleasure to work with. Their email replies to my questions gave me valuable feedback and information; it was obvious from their replies that Navis has extensive experience in packing art work. I only hope that I can find a comparable company in my new location. And Navis' pricing was very reasonable.
