I really wanted to like Native Wings because it's so close to home, but unfortunately, this place just doesn't deliver. I've given it two chances, and both times I was left disappointed. First, the service is awful. Both visits, I waited awkwardly by the door for over 10 minutes without being acknowledged or seated. That alone should've been my cue to walk out, but I decided to give it another try--hoping for better the second time. No luck. Then there's the food. The wings are dry, overcooked, and just plain gross. For a place that has "wings" in the name, that's a huge letdown. The only thing I'll honestly miss is the salad with jalapeño ranch--that was actually really good. But sadly, it's not enough to make me come back. Everything else just sucks. My expectations on this place weren't very high and they aren't getting any higher. I came here on a Saturday for the food, but it definitely wasn't very good. This place is great for a drink and watching sports. I also enjoy their trivia night. I ordered the flatbread, my kids ordered a #mynativeburger and the kids chicken tenders. The flatbread was burnt to crisp and the tenders were tough and dry. How hard is it to mess up chicken tenders! Otherwise my daughters burger was pretty decent. This is the last time ordering from here and we order quite often. Time after time, it is always something wrong with the food. The only reason we keep coming back is because, I've (Not my husband) have been a Native fan since 1994. However, this location is just not it. The wings and chicken strips were fried to extreme jerky, not at our request. The chicken strippers were no where near 1/2 pound and were inedible. The loaded fries were cold as can be. Mind you, we live less that 10 tire rolls away from the place. The kicker is, when my husband arrived to pick up the food, they told him it was a 5 more minute wait. He was there at the specified time on the app. But, he waited, no problem. However, how does one wait 5 minutes and the food is cold?!?! All of the chicken was definitely refried. I know no one at this establishment will care, but stick a fork in us...We are done coming here. We tried time and time again without complaining during any of the visits. But this takes the icing. Service was good, attentive and friendly. They allow smoking on the patio, pretty stinky. Happy hour prices definitely don't seem like discounts, for example fries are $5.50, same with tots, and prices go up from there. Same with drink prices. You can see happy hour choices and prices on the pics I posted. Ordered loaded fries for $6.50 for a relatively small amount, same with the $11 "pound" of boneless wings. All tasted good, nothing bad, nothing remarkable. Overall, a decent experience. Friendly staff was the highlight. Would I return? Most likely. I typically don't eat here since the price of wings is outrageous, however, since they've brought back $.59 wing Tuesday, I gave it a try; I wasn't disappointed. I ordered wings for the family: medium, hot, lemon pepper, and honey hot. I requested they be cooked extra crispy with extra sauce, and they met my ask. The sauce was good, and the dry rub (lemon pepper) was a good ratio of lemon to pepper. The ordering process was fast, I have the app and it allows you to make special requests. We came here on a Tuesday evening for a cheap date night and ordered wings and the apple walnut chicken salad. We tried the following flavors: Kickin bourbon-our favorite Lemon pepper-usually something we'd like but it was a bit too tart Buffalo-can't really go wrong with that Ginger teriyaki-I'm sure it would've been good but the kickin bourbon was so good we couldn't really taste the teriyaki The walnut apple chicken salad-chicken was perfect and the salad itself was delish! First of all I'll give you the positives. Our server was awesome. However, even she couldn't salvage this dining experience. We Ordered dinner and wings for an appetizer. Wings came out cold. So great So comfortable and they are so friendly. This is the def hang out spot in Ahwatukee. The manager Brian is an all out all around cool azz dude. I continue to go because he's made it so welcoming and chill for me and my family to be there. He takes care of us every visit. We order every week (seriously we don't miss a week). What a joke this place has become! Yesterday was the second time in the last month that I have sat at the bar for 10 minutes, and not only was I not served, but I never even saw the bartender? It was 1:30 in the afternoon and there were maybe 10 people at the bar? They have now lost my lunch business twice and I have no plans to ever go back during the daytime, maybe not even at all. Both times I've been told that a girl is working by other patrons and they don't know where she went. I bartended for 5 years when I was in my 20's and if I would have left the bar unattended for 10 minutes at a time, I would have been fired! It's ridiculous that this is the only option we have in the Foothills and they can't even get it right. Been going to the Ahwatukee Native for years. Never a huge fan of the pizza but loved the wings and service has always been great. Service is still great we look for Gabby who is amazing. The pizza has always been just mediocre so we have went with the wings most times. The last 2 times the wings have been so small they have not even been tasty. We're told last time they switched suppliers and they would be bigger. Went in May 2018 they are the same. Smallest wings I have ever got and out of 15 ordered 2 were drumsticks. Asked for the manager and she said this is what we have now. I see others share the same experience. I am hopeful the owner will see the posts that are coming in and react. Came here for food and karaoke, as well as fun with some great people. Got all of the above and then some, despite slow service to order our food. In the end it was fine though, because the good food we ordered more than made up for the slow service in placing our order. Diet Cokes, Buffalo Bleu Cheese Chips, Loaded Fries, & Boneless Chicken Wings were what we got and wow were they delicious! I am a sucker for Buffalo Bleu Cheese Chips, after having them at Gordon Biersch last month and these were just as good as theirs! Karaoke was a blast and we all had a great time. We stayed until closing and sang a lot of great songs. Each of us has the love of music in common and it was awesome hearing what each of us loves to sing along to. Makes for good times and great fun, as does the whole Native New Yorker experience! Man I'm sorry to say this but I gotta keep it . this place has gone seriously downhill. I used to love it back in the day. But the food is just straight disgusting it tastes like old, expired, freezer burnt and stale. At least at this particular location. The service is terrible to. Your waiter doesn't matter which one will seat you then spend 30 minutes walking away or chatting with other people before they come back to check on you or your order same for the wait for the food. The ambiance is chill but the smell is atrocious. It smells like I stepped into a porter potty, I don't know if the pipes need to be revamped or what but it smells like a wet moldy towel that was just used to wash a dog dipped in doo doo and rinsed in pee. It's seriously off putting to eat and smell that at the same time it felt like I was biting into a hot fart when I ate here. And the drinking glasses look like they've never been washed ever with the all the soap scum on them it gets into the drinks and then they taste like it. And don't even get me started on the iced tea I can't imagine how dirty that machine is. Don't go to this location just don't it's clear they don't care anymore like at all. I wish Gordon Ramsey would visit this place and tear it apart because the standards have seriously dropped sticky table and Menus. Just don't. Again I'm sorry for reviewing this place like this but come on standards guys how bout you set some and actually try to attain them. Or just shut it down period full stop. I've never dined in here before. Typically I do take out on the weekends or weeknights. Last night I decided to order the Friday night fish fry. OMG! It was to die for. A long piece of fresh battered fried fish surrounded by crispy fries, tartar sauce, ketchup and also some really nice coleslaw. This is crave worthy. (Ray Rd location) Then when I asked to speak with a manager the waitress tried to make a scene but the manager came and we spoke and he was apologetic. Overall the food is good. We've been coming here for years but yesterday my husband and I both had the worst food poisoning of our lives. Native wings & buffalo chicken nachos were all we had to eat, and we were both violently ill for 24+ hours. We called to let the Manager know and to let them know if they need to check policies or for cross contamination, but they didn't even ask what we had to eat or take any information.
