New owner, Mike, is fantastic and CARES about the vegan food and your dining experience. I had one of the best desserts in my life at this Colorado Blvd. location, and it was Mike's creation. I always leave full and satisfied, having plenty to choose from. The fast-casual style dining suits my needs to not have a long, drawn-out meal, and there's ample seating inside and some outside, too. Parking is never an issue. I think it's important to note that while they have lots of vegan options for "replacement meats" that sound quite tasty, none of them are gluten-free. Well, except for the cauliflower wings. So just beware before you go out there. My vegan burger was super dry, the gluten-free bun was inedible, dry, chalky, cold. My friend ordered a vegan chicken sandwich that was also cold in the middle, and apparently quite bland. Prepared quickly, served hot and the portions were large. The fries were flavorful. The cauliflower was crispy but bland. The dipping sauce helped a lot. Returned the next night and placed the same exact order to-go. Fries and cauliflower were great again EXCEPT the to-go portions were SIGNIFICANTLY SMALLER. if we're paying the same price we should be getting the same amount of food. So disappointing. read more

As a vegetarian, I am super excited to have Native Foods close by to my work. Dropped in for lunch with a friend and couldn't decide between the Buddha bowl or orange cauliflower. The cashier recommended the orange cauliflower and I'm so glad she did! The cauliflower was crisp and the rest of the bowl seasoned well. Very flavorful and colorful dish. It took about ten minutes for them to prepare my dish and the taco salad for my friend, just as an FYI to folks planning to come. I've been to this location, Boulder, and Chicago (Wicker Park) and I have to say I have been blown away by all three of them. I love that Native Foods has so many great meals to cater to both the whole/raw food lovers and the comfort food lovers. I kind of wanted the best of both worlds with the soul bowl which was pleasantly loaded with rice, beans, and veggies for the 'wholeness' and some chick'n strips, bbq/ranch, and a corn bread muffin for some comfort. It's all pretty middle-of-the-road price wise but you definitely get a good portion size for what you pay. The dessert prices are outrageous but I never buy them anywa I really like the atmosphere and the fancy-fast food setup. It's a lot like a fast food restaurant but WAY better quality. And, if you didn't know, they have an app with a fantastic rewards program that allows you to rack up points toward $5 discounts surprisingly quick. They work at all locations too! Been here about 20 times and loved it. Told numerous coworkers how great it it. Then today, ordered our usual, 2 Nashville Hots. Got them home and they were charred completely black, patty rock hard from overcooking, and without the usual orange hot sauce. Like zero hot sauce. No worries - just called them and told them. Figured maybe an off day and they forgot the hot sauce? Just left it on a tad too long? Thought they'd like to know it ain't right. The guy I spoke with offered to refund it, which is ideal so thank you, but then he made it about how the chef has been there 7 years and he cooks it the same every time. I said that's great, I'm saying I've eaten it like 10 times and it's never been not spicy at all and charred completely black to a nearly unrecognizable version of what I've eaten numerous times now. He said, "You may have eaten it 10 times, but he's cooked it more times." ......... that's some awkward customer service, my man. It is purely vegan. I did not try the food though it looked good I only had sweet treats. I ordered a parfait, a Key lime parfait with oatmeal bottom, the cost, $6! It was like a McDonalds parfait but tasted someone artificial. It had an oatmeal cookie bottom that tasted pretty good but I had to dig through the artificial tasting Parfait to get to it. The oatmeal sandwich cookie was also $6. Whatever was in the middle of it was awful. Don't think I'll be trying this place again soon. It is extremely pricy as well. read more

I like that everything is plant based and quite tasty. I got 'Chicken' wings grilled, small portion, and it was just 5 small pieces for $6.50 so I was hungry after 2 hours. We had a fantastic meal here. Very tasty place, with vegan everything. Yes, the whole restaurant is only vegan foods! I got the double cheeseburger with bacon, along with a side salad, sweet potato fries, and a watermelon cream soda. My girlfriend got the buffalo chicken wrap, with the cashew Mac and cheese, and cookie pudding dessert. I'm just gonna comment first on the buffalo chicken, this was the highlight of the meal. Perfect form and texture, and a tasty sauce. Could not tell the difference between real meat. The ranch sauce is fantastically creamy and flavorful, with a few herbs added. The wrap itself is a winner as a whole. The cashew Mac and cheese was not nearly as good as its main partner. The Mac was cooked right, but the cheese was slightly sour with too much lemon juice. Cut that and add more tang with nutritional yeast. The desert was excellent! Great follow up. I hear the cookies are tasty too. My meal The burger was a full meal, with good touches such as the creamy and cheddary cheese, and some added sauce. I wished the patties were thicker. Smaller than Meta Burger, and they were only a bit thicker than the bacon on top. The bacon was tasty and full flavored. The entree was great and filled me. The salad was only greens and julienned carrots. Wish there was a tomato or cucumber slice. The balsamic dressing was very good. Lots of herbs, probably made in house. The sweet potato fries were a clear second place after the wings in the meal. They were just amazing. Very crispy, with a really bright and sugary taste. These were a perfect complement to my burger. Such a delicious vegan place! Everything on the menu is great, and you can't go wrong with whatever you pick. You order at the counter and then grab a number, find a table and a staff member will bring your food once it's ready (doesn't take longer than 10-15 even if they are super busy). Staff is always very accommodating and pleasant. Plenty of seats inside and outside, and parking is pretty good as well. My only complaint is that all the food is a bit salty for my taste, even though it's super yummy! I noshed on the BBQ chicken salad and I still can't believe that I wasn't eating chicken! It was a perf substitute. 2) All the items were made with such high-quality, local, and sustainable ingredients. 3) They feature a wide variety of drinks including Happy Leaf Kombucha and various house-brewed teas. 4) Staff was really friendly and knowledgeable about their menu items. 5) There's a small sidewalk style patio space for nicer days. ...Only drawback for me was that there was a lot of dressing on my salad; so towards the bottom it was rather soupy. I got the chicken wings with buffalo sauce. So good! I wish they had an option to have the sauce on the side so it doesn't make the chicken strips soggy. It's also funny, I was expecting more cabbage and carrots (since it said it was on a "bed" of those). Picture attached to show how little was included. Also got the sweet potato fries. Ask for an opinion on food and the girl literally said that she didn't eat anything there. I didn't know what to do because I still was stuck on three options but I was hoping that she had a favorite out of them. She did ask me what I liked, but I told her that I obviously liked the ingredients in all three options so I wanted a personal opinion. I don't know. I just didn't like that kind of attitude. I know I'm indecisive, but it's really cool to be able to be on the road traveling and have so many vegan options in one place. I ended up getting a taco salad and kale dip. The appetizers were the same price as an entrée and quite honestly I can't justify getting tortilla chips and a 4 ounce of kale dip for $13. I think that's really unfair. I also got a taco salad and I'm sure it was good but it didn't have any dressing When I opened it up upon eating it so it was really dry and not my favorite salad even if I had salsa that would've been better than eating dry mixed greens. I don't know it's not really worth the money. I once was lost, but now I'm found. That is how I felt when I returned to Native Foods Café. Granted, I had never been to this particular location; I had visited one of their L.A. locations back in 2009, and the food was so bad (to me) that I had sworn them off. Lucky for me, I decided to give 'em another go. SPICY FRIED CAULIFLOWER- They weren't my favorite. I've had much better. THAI CHILI BRUSSELS SPROUTS- the most amazing thing ever! They are actually breaded and then fried and tossed in their fiery-sweet Thai Chili sauce. SO GOOD!! NATIVE CHICKEN, BACON, & AVO CLUB (ordered sans tomatoes) - a most scrumptious combustion of flavors. This became an instant favorite. Their seitan bacon is so crispy, and the herb-crusted "chicken" was perfectly cut, so it wasn't too thick and "meaty." The accompanying chipotle sauce served up just the right amount of spice, and the avocado was fresh. I also like their french fries. Don't forget to try their agua frescas. They are very refreshing. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the excellent quality and the fact that you still get a free side with your burger or handheld here when lots of other veg places are going a la carte. They do change their menu throughout the year, so keep that in mind if you're visiting near the cusp of any two seasons. read more

I did not like the bowl since it lacked flavors but instead enjoyed the meatball sandwich. We ordered 4 foods just to sample different plates and it came shocking to me that all we ordered were extremely spicy even though I checked with the staff. of course all vegan, but not super healthy food. It is a counter service and the staff are not so helpful for people who are not familiar with the plates and their options. One of my wife's many super powers is knowing where at least 3 vegan/vegetarian restaurants are in proximity to our current location, no matter where we are in the world. We could be out in the jungles of Borneo and she would know a place to get some good smoked tofu reasonably close by. It's uncanny. So we're running some errands out in Cherry Creek and we decide to scope out some lunch. Somehow she knows that Native Foods is tucked away in this little shopping center even though she's never been there. I'm skeptical as usual of an untested vegetarian restaurant- will they have anything I'll actually like on the menu? Enter the veggie jalapeño burger. First off, it comes standard with two delicious veggie patties, and is topped with an amazing vegan American cheese and jalapeños. And served on a vegan pretzel bun... WHAT?!!! It's one of those rare vegan dishes where I feel like I'm not making any sacrifices to avoid the meat. Soooo good. My wife got the fried cauliflower po' boy, which was also really good. The Sesame Kale Tempeh was pretty dry and was difficult to finish. It was like eating a soggy granola bar with good kale. As for the Chicken Wings, the buffalo sauce was very strong (salty) and the seitan was dry. My peanut butter dessert was the only highlight out of the three different items I ordered.
