So, lunch on Sunday was a completely different guest experience than my first visit unfortunately. We were a party of 8 so I called ahead with about 15 minutes notice since I was bringing friends to try the new place I found. They ordered the queso and didn't like it but I saw that coming since it is definitely some type of canned product. I ordered the Chef Special and my flauta was smaller than last time which was disappointing. The beef in my taco al carbon was so yummy- 5 stars - and that Mexican corn which is a sub for the rice and beans was a super delicious take on elote. It was my same server from last time but i think he was the only one on duty and his bussers and helpers were really not up to the task. One tried to take our drink orders and got very confused on how to use his hand held and was not communicative. I actually said to him at one point I was not sure what was happening and he did not respond. He did not know where the flautas were on the menu or how much that plate cost. He did eventually bring back an answer. My friend ordered no tomatoes on her plate and it came with tomato and she had to pick it off rather then letting them remake it. I had also asked for no guac on my first visit and it came anyway which I let go but that's clearly a struggle right now. Fortunately those are preferences and not food allergies but if there is an expo they aren't doing a good job. Service lagged but the most frustrating was the tea tasted bad - all 3 of us that had it thought so, and when my friend asked for a spoon he was told they didn't have spoons. That the rolled silverware doesn't have one (which we already knew). Yet there were spoons in the queso we had ordered so there were spoons in the place and after pointing this put and arguing to get a spoon he was brought one. They asked for a container to take the leftover queso and were brought one with a lid that did not fit. And when we asked they said they didn't have a lid that fit that container. It was almost comical now, so I asked if they had saran wrap and could wrap it since we had already put the queso in it which they did. I had requested to be my own check and was then waiting and waiting and again did not know what was happening. My friends stood to leave and I said i was still waiting on my check and that's when i learned they had asked for my check and paid for me. I was not alright with that actually and that is an issue to take up with my friends at a later time but the server never told me so I was sitting there like an idiot waiting for a check that was never coming. The food is really good but I seriously am not sure I would come back here now. Sad.

Great service! Got the birria quesadillas and carne guisada both tender. Queso is nice and the charro beans are amazing

This used to be La Fiesta. As for the interior, not much has changed with the new ownership. It's a fairly small main dining area with a decent sized bar in a semi separate room. The menu is nicely laid out and the entrees seem to be some of the La Fiesta favorites with a few new dishes. I never had the chicken flautas when it was La Fiesta, so I can't compare old verses new, but they were huge. My friend commented that they looked like eggrolls. We were pleased with the service. They serve queso and red salsa with the chips. I prefer the creamy green salsa to queso, but they don't have the creamy green. Queso gets cold too fast, so it's a waste in my opinion. Our drinks were never empty. I will definitely return, but I would have returned if it was still La Fiesta. They still have a little patio outside off the entrance. Great for nice weather days and a margarita

The parking was a bit of a challenge, but it was easy enough because it was a calm Tuesday morning. To get from the parking area to the store, you just take the elevator one level down, and then you're right inside. This place is surprisingly big, filled with all kinds of snacks, cookies, and coffee. The highlight for me was their shawarma breakfast wrap. It was top-notch and exactly what I needed. You choose between whole wheat or white pita, and it's filled with scrambled eggs, your choice of fresh or sautéed spinach, and they add potatoes as well. Then they top it with shawarma chicken, tomato, and a delicious sauce. For $8.5 it was worth every bite. Hands down, a five out of five. I also tried their coffee, which was just a standard brew sitting in ice for hours and nothing special. At $2.50, it was fine, but nothing to write home about. The real stars were the cookies. I got a coconut pecan cookie and an almond crunch cookie, and both were absolutely delicious. I didn't have time to explore the whole store, but there was a great selection of fresh produce, chocolates, and all sorts of small treats. Overall, the staff were really friendly, and the entire visit was smooth. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area. Five out of five stars!

Plenty of healthy and not so healthy but delicious options, the breakfast chicken shawarma wrap was a great way to start the day with fresh squeezed orange juice. A great one stop shop with groceries as well!

I ordered "The Convention" breakfast which was "Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Breakfast Potatoes and Buttermilk Biscuits" - it came with literally 20 tiny sausage patties and biscuits total. So one tiny sausage and biscuit per person. I didn't count the bacon but it was a similarly stingy portion. No one had more than two pieces. The eggs were bland. The potatoes were actually good. But overall, it was so embarrassing to have the food show up and it be these tiny trays of hardly any food for over $400. I would have been better off ordering individual dishes for each person from a local restaurant. I thought with the high Yelp and Google reviews I saw, this would be a safe bet! I also ordered a 20 mini pastries for $3.25 each which were like pastries you get at a 7/11. At least if you are overcharging, let the food be good and not like you unwrapped pastries from a Costco haul. Worst of all was the coffee which was watered down and disgusting. Everyone threw theirs out so I just dumped it. What an utter waste of money. Also they only sent 8 cups with the coffee even though the breakfast was for 20. Stingy and bland all around. If you are catering for a small group, please save yourself the trouble and embarrassment and just order takeout from a local restaurant. I wish I took pictures of the spread but I was just too upset. All I took was the coffee which you can tell even from the picture was watery. ***The menu listed the items but didn't say only 1, 1oz piece of bacon per person - that's absolutely absurd for a normal breakfast portion. Who would cater one piece of bacon per person?

I loved the food and munched on it like a starving kitten. Pandemic hits and it severely limits my ability to go to places, but I still had the old flyer. I called the order in ahead and ordered a shrimp poboy for myself, a fish one for my husband and a chicken pasta for my mother. First things first, as its technically a catering company and due to restrictions with dine in service in Fort Bend County, I don't know if the inside will ever be meant for dining service. It seems it's meant mostly for pick up, but on the other hand restaurants are operating differently with the pandemic, so I can't say for sure. Now the food. Portions are huge. Our poboys were large enough that we split them to taste the other person's meal. I felt they were some of the best poboys, I've had. Probably the only better ones are the ones from New Orleans and that's high praise as it's New Orleans influenced dining. If you want to know, I think the fried fish poboy slightly edged out the shrimp poboy. I felt the taste of the shrimp at times got lost, whereas the fish poboy and all of the other components were balanced. However, it's such a slight difference in terms of taste, that you're not losing out if you're eating the shrimp poboy. But if you are eating with someone and they don't mind sharing, I do recommend swapping half your poboy. For my mother's meal, as a picky old lady, she was content, and that's rare. It was a lot of food, it came with vegetables and corn bread. She ate it and didn't complain. To me that's high praise. The only real "knock" as that while the bread pudding is good, I know you can get better bread pudding elsewhere. Also, as it seems to be a start up business, drink options are also limited. However, I think with time there will be more drink options/ As for the bread pudding, people are either going to agree with me or not. It's still good, but I don't think that's the highlight of this caterer/restaurant. The main dishes are what makes this place unique and I'd come here for those dishes or consider this place for events like weddings and bigger parties. The food is good enough to make everyone happy and if it's for a wedding or birthday party it's not like you'll need their dessert as wedding/birthday cakes tend to be ordered at bakeries. Definitely try it, and send me a note if you agree.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to see her in action, first-hand...until now and WOW! Our school was having a food truck themed summer camp, which is a very popular camp that sells out every year. The kids create their own food trucks, starting with learning the behind the scenes of starting a food truck, such as logo design, menu design, a shopping list and then they build their own truck and cook some samplers from their menus. We have real food trucks come out for the kids to see, but this year was even better because Chef Shelby came into our culinary kitchen and gave our students and teachers an experience that they will never forget. From the start, she was very communicative and full of ideas on how she could create this experience for the kids. We provided the space and she and her team took it from there and made the rest of the magic happen. She gave a lesson to the kids about kitchen safety and how to create a menu to kick off Food Truck Camp. Then, she came back later in the week and made flat bread pizzas from scratch by modeling each step and assisting the kids as they made their own. She and her team were punctual, organized and very professional! The teachers and kids had a blast! Let's not forget to mention that she still made this experience possible even with dealing with the after effects of Hurricane Beryl! Thank you so much, Comfort Craving Experience for spending time with us! We are so thankful and look forward to working with you again in the future!
