I highly recommend Nasha's for lunch, which is the only time I ever go because of their thali platter special. It's a LOT of food for under $15, depending on the type of protein you get for the curry of the day. It's a good day if the curry is their tikka masala or chana masala! This place is also a Tex Mex fusion Indian restaurant. If you're feeling more adventurous and are a fan of "fusion foods," I suggest that you give their tostadas or enchiladas a try. read more

I got the: - Tikka con Queso & Masala Wings for appetizers - Chicken Tandoori Tacos & Millionaires Curry for entrees My overall impression was that it was unique to have both types of cultures combined into their own dishes. What I enjoyed most were the two items on the second picture. The tikka masala sauce with queso was pretty good, instead of chips and going with Naan is the move! The Indian seasoning that were on the wings was also really yummy and had me wanting more. Although I did like the curry and tacos in the first picture, they weren't anything in my opinion that I found to be unique. All in all, I recommend y'all to come try them out. Why did I wait so long to come here?!?!?! The Tex-Mex-Indian combos are stunning. The tandoori chicken tacos really had a gentle flavor of tandoori chicken, with a distinctly authentic taco. My boyfriend had the Chicken Tikka Masala. One of the best I had ever had. A bit creamier than usual, but rich in flavor and delicious. Sides - the onion naan was perfect, the onions were just caramelized enough around the edges. Raita was pretty good, though a little light in flavor. The dal soup was out of this world and gently spiced. Great service from nice people in a lovely atmosphere. Good for family dinners or a casual date night. Nothing fancy. Was really disappointed that we didn't get to eat here. The restaurant smelled divine and the menu looked so good, but unfortunately the service made it so we had to make other plans. We were coming with a group of 8 for a bachelorette party and we'd called a week ahead of time and were offered private dining space upstairs as long as we spent a minimum of $300 on food. We called the day before to confirm and told we were all set. Many of our party arrived straight from the airport and when we came in, we were told they had no record of us ever calling and that they didn't take reservations at all. One of the servers told us they were going upstairs to set our group table but there were other parties up there (despite saying we'd have the space to ourselves) and then disappeared for 20 minutes. When we inquired with her about an update she seemed very flustered and told us she couldn't make it happen and didn't have a solution. Someone else came up to tell us they never serve groups over 4 unless we wanted to split up into separate tables. We didn't so they kindly told us we were welcome to leave. Overall, really grateful this place was open late night (period). It's really necessary to have more spots like this and I'm grateful for the option of something fun and different. After visiting last night for my first time with my partner, I may be hard pressed to want to come again. Why? Food was lack luster, music playing was relatively poor choice for a dinner spot, and I over heard a conversation the super kind waitress was having with another customer that didn't best portray the restaurant's training of their employees. Food wise: Got the lamb tacos, side of Dal Soup, and the stuffed veggie poblano + jalapeño naan. The lamb was edible but relatively tasteless. The Dal Soup tasted like a bucket of salt. The Dal soup on the taco though was the way to go! The veggie poblano was a great try, but the quality of the veggie concoction wasn't really that tasty sadly. The papadam was awesome! The naan... well... great try doing something different! I wasn't expecting less than 1 jalapeño on the naan to cost $1.50 more than regular... but I guess so. Music wise: Jay Z, Beyoncé, Justin, Britney and the like... don't make the best tunes for a peaceful dinner. Cozy ambiance otherwise. Training wise: I don't think the waiters here are trained on the ingredients used in the meals, which is usually a red flag somewhere, somehow for me. A customer was asking for the ingredients in his meal and was told "oh I don't know, I don't cook." Mmm... not the right answer. I'm maybe of a different feather, but I think the person serving food should at least be willing to go check in the kitchen for the gentleman asking. With all that said, if it was late night once again and needed some munchies, id consider it if no where else was open. Nasha's has been a longtime favorite of mine! They're known for adding a lil "Tex Mex" to their Indian food. They offer a lot of really delicious vegan and vegetarian options. I have loved everything I've ordered! Very flavorful. During the week they have happy hour from 2-7pm with $2 off their drinks. If you like spicy, try the curried margarita! We recently returned to Nasha and are still singing their praises! We were impressed back in 2015 when we wrote our first review. Since then a couple of poor reviews showed up-- which is surprising since we've never had a bad experience. In fact we've been there several times and each time has been better than the other. A few nights ago we met friends there and were once again highly impressed. The food is high quality and full of exotic and wonderful flavors and this time the service was even better! As busy as they were, they kept up with our needs cheerfully and with grace. They seem to work like a well-oiled machine, which usually indicates good management. The owner shows up and works in person and seems to lavish care on this unique gastro-establishment. As previously noted, the food is topnotch. We love the tikka masala, the biryani is simply amazing and the list goes on and on. It's the perfect venue for bringing friends visiting the city too. One cannot overlook the creative craft drinks such as the cardamon and curry jalapeno margaritas which are not to be missed! Our only suggestion is that we miss the candles ;( This was an extra romantic touch we really loved. In any case, Austin is lucky to have Nasha as a quirky, wonderful venue for the weird life. Came in here on a chilly night and got an incredible meal that hit the spot! Casual ambiance with counter service. To start we got an order of the Masala Wings, which were so juicy, meaty and flavorful - probably some of the best wings in Austin surprisingly. For the mains we got the Kheema Masala with ground lamb and the Tikka Masala, and (2) orders of the garlic naan (which we could've done with one order but it was delicious so we weren't complaining). Everything was absolutely delicious, great flavors, spicy but not overbearing, and quick, friendly service. Also a surprising wine list, paired well with the menu. Until fusion Indian-Mexican is a regular institution across the country, I refuse to give a place that does it less than 4 stars. Both types of cuisine are amazing, both have their own set of smack-in-the-mouth spice and both tend not to be shy about grease, a temperament I'm wholly on board for. It's decorated in a kind of fun psychedelic motif and has a nice casual air that I could totally see sitting around reading a book in. The service is...I mean, it's service. It serves. The fusion margarita was a bit disappointing, I tasted neither curry nor jalapeno, but it was still tasty and refreshing. The lamb tacos were really excellent. They had a good balance of crunch, grease and zest and were an interesting, different type of taco. Surprisingly, the jalapeno naan and sauces stole the show. The naan itself is beautiful, like a greasy, fluffy carpet over which, at oddly regular intervals, are placed big slices of jalapeno. And yes, I could taste the jalapeno there. The food here is good. Some of the items were a hit and some were a miss. We went with three dishes, the chicken tikka masala, lamb coconut curry, and the chicken slumdog. In our opinion, the chicken slumdog was our favorite of the three. It had great flavor and had some great spicy kick to it. Our second favorite was the tikka masala which tasted very traditional and was exactly what we were expecting. The lamb coconut curry was a bit off what we were hoping for, and we were not a huge fan of it. We also loved the appetizer (crackers and sauce) they provide were excellent. The garlic naan was a little thick for our liking. We are used to a little thinner naan and this felt a little pizza'esk and very filling. Location is great with a comfortable patio seating area. The chairs and tables were not set level on the floor and made our meal shaky. We ordered some drinks, vegetarian enchilada and vindaloo with tofu and veggies. Since I am not a fan of spicy food, we asked for medium hot. But the vindaloo that came out was super spicy- like desk hot spice level! When we asked the waitress why our food is so spicy, she curtly asked us to order some garlic naan to help soften the blow. So, we ordered some garlic naan to soothe the spice, but still could not finish it as we were afraid for our stomachs the next day.
