Everything was delicious, the service was fairly quick, and the shed to sit and eat was super cozy and suitable for some good team conversations. It's location right off South I-35 in Austin is an added bonus as it's easy to find and has lot of parking spaces, too. I recommended this place to the team, and everyone loved it. The food was full of flavor. The bread was soft and crunchy at the same time. The green sauce (I'm not sure what the correct names are ) tasted a lot like Mexican green mole! They are both a tad bit spicy but tolerable and enjoyable (no tears, mild fiery spice). And the crunchy parts on the side beside the onion were so yummy, I'm not sure what it was. Overall, this is a good meal for one person since for the quantity - no leftovers. The workers are so kind and conversational! Especially if you aren't as familiar with Indian food (this is my second Indian dish). This has been on my list to try for awhile and finally made it here today - we showed up right as it opened at 12 which was perfect because we got a table with an umbrella to sit there and eat. We ordered: 1. Dabeli - very tasty and different; worth trying. 2. Avocado Jhalmuri - also very different and super tasty 3. Vada Pav + Thecha Pav (spicy and regular) - both good 4. My fav go-to spot for a quick Indian street food close to downtown. The location is amazing with ample parking space. The menu was welcoming , with different varieties of Pav Bhaji. I have got the Amul cheese pab bhaji and the special pav bhaji. I loved the Amul cheese better, it was soothing and great. I should say this is one of the best pav bhajis I have ever had in the US. Especially getting Indian food south of the river is really hard and this place stands out. The gravy was creamy and yummy and the bread is of top quality. I also got the vada pav and the potato's outer layer wasn't the best. It was a little crunchy and not moist so I would not get that again but the potato filling was amazing. Looking to try something new and this popped up in my Doordash deals. Pav Bhaji is Mumbai style street food, and we all know street food is always some of the best food. Special Pav Bhaji - Their main dish, delicious toasted buttery roll, with the phaji gravy. I didn't get the spicy version, but this was quite spicy as expected. Not like flame in your mouth spicy, but lingering mouth watery spicy. This type of dish is what I think of when I think of street food - simple on one sense, but with tons of flavor. Paneer Dum Biryani - LARGE portion of biryani. I don't usually order biryani because I feel like there are usually other better dishes to get, but I did enjoy this biryani. There were some chili peppers in there that were extra spicy, but mostly manageable. Samosa Chaat - If you like samosas, then you'll like Samosa Chaat. We are so happy to finally have Indian food options in South Austin. This is an interesting location and hopefully they get a lot of foot traffic from Zilker and Barton Springs. They have also made good use of the limited space at the gas station, creating some outdoor seating options to enjoy your food fresh. Portion sizes are generous and filling. The gentleman taking the orders, possibly the owner, was considerably and genuine. We got a papdi chaat and a Pav Bhaji. The Bhaji was flavored very well and we recommend it. The chaat was okay but I'm also extra particular about my chaat so you should give it a try for yourself. They had just made fresh biryani and we were so tempted, if we weren't traveling tomorrow. If you go there in the afternoon (not sure about the new place) be ready to stand in sun or you can choose to sit inside car. Parking are limited as well. The menu on the food truck didn't have prices so you have ask for paper menu or check prices online. Overall good option for south Austin given that are not many Indian food trucks in that area. We tried special pav bhaji, masala pav and vada pav from this place - it was mediocre at best, too salty for my taste. Hot new food truck super close to Zilker park, located at a gas station opposite to Chuys. The owner is really nice and friendly. There's a variety of pav bhajis, vada pav, chaat, dabeli etc on the menu. I had the amul pav bhaji which was delicious with the right amount of spicy. I do wish they would have been more generous with the cheese on the bhaji though, as street food vendors in India are. They have extra spicy pav bhaji versions too. Pani puri and sev puri sahi puri chaat were decent. Elaichi chai was hot and welcoming during this cold and windy spring evening in Austin. Recently visited the Pav Bhaji express food truck after seeing it pop up in Yelp recommendations. I was surprised at the low prices and amazing flavor from both the Pav Bhaji and the Dhai Batata chaat. It wasn't too spicy for me but just perfect. I really liked their green chutney and how they carefully packed the batata chaat for us to take home. The owner was a really nice guy who gave me chai on the house. The Pani Poori might not quite meet the expectations that were established for me by my last experience at Chatpatti Chaat but it's still fantastic. And Pav Bhaji is much closer. (Who wants to drive way up north for Chatpatti Chaat anyway?) The sweet "khatta meetha" tamarind puree and spicy "thikki" cilantro-mint broth blend perfectly to bring out the earthy flavors of the potatoes, making each bite a refreshingly delicious literal burst of flavor as the fluids seep out from the crispy puffed-fried sphere. The Shezwan Vada Pav was a fun experience, and I'm told by my South Asian boyfriend that it turned out very authentic to the nostalgic flavors that he recalls from his mother's home cooking. If you're craving something rich and savory, this deep-fried potato dumpling sandwich is a nice option. The Masala Chaas (a spiced yogurt drink) offered up a flavor profile I didn't expect -- a surprising degree of spice blended with the cooling contrast of the yogurt. The service here is exceptional, and the owner has transformed a humble gas station parking lot into a cozy little oasis. Great little find for vada pav lovers. It's a food truck, but with the added bonus of covered seating, which made the experience more comfortable than expected. My wife and I grew up in Mumbai which arguably has the best street food in the world. Personally I have never given more than 3 stars to any Indian street food joint I have visited in usa.
