I love eating here and try to do so anytime I am nearby (from Round Rock). I have introduced several friends and my husband to the food. Great options for vegetarians and gf folks. I always go for the veggie chili relleno. My husband commented that the garlic naan was especially good and had a nice combination of garlic and butter, not overpowering. Nasha is non-traditional ... Mexican. Mexican with an Indian flair (this coming from someone of European descent, so take it with a grain of salt). I was craving Indian so my friend and I got here only to find that they were serving enchiladas, with an Indian curry! I liked it. The mixture of the cultural flavors (I'm unsure of what regions!) went very well together. I didn't love it though, and not for lack of inventiveness. My main problem with the food was that it was a bit on the bland side. Both Mexican and Indian are renown for spice and rich flavors. The dish I had at Nasha was good, but not rich. It really was a missed opportunity, almost as if they were (in my mind) catering to a non-spicy crowd. Still, it was good food overall and I would not frown on the idea of returning to Nasha. Also, the service was great. Friendly, quick, attentive. That's half the battle at going to a lot of restaurants. I'm basing this review on the particular dishes I ordered. My go to dishes at Indian restaurants are the chiken/lamb biryani and tikka masala. The biryani here was not really balanced and there was far too much either tamarind or prunes in it. The dish had an overpowering sweetness to it and not enough rice to balance it out. The tikka was decent, it was passable. New India(RIP)and Clay Pit blow this place out of the water. My partner and I both experienced upset stomachs as well. I came here with a group of coworkers a couple days ago for lunch. Let me say this....places like this are why I LOVE Austin. Places like this are what make me want to abandon Houston and move to this amazing city. By recommendation, I ordered the Tikka Masala with Paneer. It was divine. I probably could have ordered hot, but I ordered medium and it was creamy, and amazing and delicious. We also ordered the Naan basket which was THE bomb. The Jalapeño Naan was my fav. The service was as good as it could get....not too in your face and not too distant either. Just right. They also can veganize almost any dish except for a couple according to the waitress. Really cute and casual Indian fare. Not too hard to roll in and get a table, especially late at night, which is a saving grace and how we ended up here. Really my Malvani Roasted Coconut Curry: fresh roasted coconut cooked with onions, ginger, garlic, chilies & cilantro, then pick yer poison, er protein. I went with the paneer and was very happy to have done so. It was luscious and flavorful without being heavy or weighing me down at that late hour. It also did not have an overwhelming coconut flavor. Nicely balanced, so don't let it scare you off if you're worried it will smash the other flavors. We also ordered the naan basket. 4 assorted types - plain, garlic, onion, jalapeno. They tried to tell us it was too much for 2 people, but they don't know how we do it. No bread conquers me. Mostly I just really wanted to try each kind, and I'm glad I did. I really liked the onion and garlic ones, but the plain is classic for a reason, and the jalapeno is excellent as well, but how well it meshes with your meal depends a little more on what you order. But it was a difficult pick! I'm sure the next night we look down and find it's 11pm and we forgot to eat dinner, I'll be back here to try the mussels and clams, and there's tons of vegan and veggie picks if you're looking to please a group. Came here for dinner Saturday night with a couple friends. I had the Bombay drink with cucumber lime and jalapeno - highly reccommend. My husband and i split the chicken tikka masala, and the whole curried mussels with jalapeno and garlic naan. Chicken tikka is our go to, and Nasha's did not dissappoint. The one star taken is for their mussels - out of the 7 given to you, 2 were fully closed and one tasted iffy, which made me nervous. Otherwise would have been 5 stars. I called to ask what they mean by consciously sourced meats as supposedly all of their meat is...I found out from the owner that none of the meat is organic, free range, or local. It seems like the only conscious decision they made when sourcing their meat was to not be unconscious when ordering it.... Though services came off as though yeah-your here-who cares-what would you like to try and let me send your drink looooong after you ordered it. My drink, Pomegranate Margarita - once it finally graced me with it's existence was tasty. too sweet but nice with the spicy food. Veg Puff Samosa- exactly like a samosa would be. Nasha finds itself in an interesting location, on East 7th, where Mexican eateries reign supreme, and a pretty busy road doesn't necessarily lend itself to the more slow eating common to curries and naan bread. Alas, the concept is unique, in that they are providing the more business-centric strip with a bit of Indian flare with American accents on the menu. The interior hasn't strayed far from the now-closed Colombian eatery formerly located here. Tacos, a smidgen of Chinese cuisine, and some Mexican flavors round out the nearly eclectic menu, but the curries themselves weren't spectacular. The lamb masala yielded appropriate Asian flavors but not much more than that. The vegetarian korma was a smidgen on the sweet side, though the spice provided balance. The restaurant may benefit from paring down the menu to a more refined concept, but I can appreciate what they are doing, in providing an East Side option to the frequented Tarka and Clay Pit. read more

The place is good, especially the outdoors on a fine morning feels very relaxing. The ginger chicken soup, lamb kheema, lamb puff are good. Paneer casadia is exceptionally good and something new. Apart from that, anything else is pretty much garbage if you're from India. Tandoori chicken tacos highly NOT recommended. There's no tandoori masala in it. Malwani curry is OK-ish, too much coconut and not authentic in any way. Mango lassi with JD is nice, just mango lassi is terrible, no mango flavor to it. Omg this is my new favorite restaurant in Austin. I'm not sure who started this Indian Tex Mex fusion stuff but I absolutely love it. I came here for the first time recently. It has the easy going, but colorful, quirky vibe of the eastside. For appetizers we got the veg puff samosa and the onion pakoda. Both were delicious and the onion pakoda was definitely a larger portion. I had the chicken tikka masala enchiladas (yes you heard me right). It was just as glorious as it sounds. This restaurant is perfect for Austin! Nasha does a beautiful fusion of traditional Indian cuisine with a Mexican flair. I've eaten the Tikka Masala more times than I would like to admit. It's addicting. The chicken is tender and the flavor really stands out in the curry itself. I had the garlic naan with it. I don't know what they put in it to make it so delicious but it's like eating happiness! Holds great when sopping up the main dish. I tried their goat tacos the other day and they were awesom! The salsa that came with them was the perfect addition to the dish. Sweet, spicy and fresh! Samosas were cooked to perfection with just the right amount of chew in the crust. The flavors were outstanding in the lamb samosas. Great local Draft beers and a full bar! Spicy food and 512 IPA is my favorite. I will be coming back! I went here with my anti-Houston wife after reading another Yelp review that said "Places like this are what make me want to abandon Houston and move to this amazing city." As a Houston-apologist moving to Austin, I was skeptical...but after checking it out, I think they were right. Houston has lots of trendy patios, but I haven't found one with this kind of ambiance with a near-central location. Most of Houston's good Indian places, especially, are in the middle of nowhere. We sat on the patio and, as if Houston knew I was cheating, our meal was interrupted by some random car with blasting subwoofers. In what I can only assume to be Austin-fashion, though, the car was an original beetle. The food, service, and beverages were top notch and I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a casual Indian dining experience with well-made staples and a good variety of meats alongside vegetarian & vegan options. Good service, quick food We came at 7 on a Friday night and sat at the bar. Bartender was nice, the Thai basil and cardamom margaritas were good (I'd add more cardamom, if I'm being picky.) we ordered the Millionaires Curry (mild) and the Aloo Gobi (medium) with garlic naan to split. It was all pretty delicious. The curry was a little spicy for me but I was warned. I think the portion sizes are a little small for what pay here, and the drinks are pretty pricey- comparable to a more upscale restaurant. Went there last night with friends, and was wowed by how good the food was. We all ordered from the Vegan Section and the waitress was very helpful in suggestions. Food presentation was also very good, arranged nicely and on beautiful silver dishes. My only complaint about the place is that is is VERY noisy Was hard to hear even people right across the table, and impossible to hear anyone at the end of the table. This made an evening out for conversation with friends almost impossible. I'd love to go back for the food and service but I hope the noise situation can be remedied, maybe more sound baffling material on walls or ceiling. read more

Wait staff seemed stretched thin, but still very friendly, and we did have to wait quite a while for our food. But once we got it, man, it was worth the wait. They have some Indian Mexican fusion dishes like the enchiladas and tacos.
