To be honest I'm surprised to see all of the super positive reviews here. I've never written a bad Yelp review and this is really unlike me. For context: Nash auto is the closest mechanic to our house and because of that and that alone I brought my car and my girlfriends car to him a couple of times. The 2 and only 2 positives here are: 1) it's not ridiculously expensive 2) he works quick We brought my girlfriends car to nash because it was having some delayed starting issues. Once it did start it drove completely fine -- just took a couple tries. This was going on for a couple weeks. I realize I'm just a random Yelp reviewer but believe me when I say her car broke down on the 2 highway the very next morning after we brought it to Nash. All the electronics turned off and her car just started rolling down the highway and the breaks were jammed. She had to pull on the emergency break to get it to stop. Thankfully no one was near enough to her that she didn't get in a wreck, but needless to say this could have been super bad and someone could have gotten hurt. You'd think I would have learned my lesson after that..... but months later I took my car to Nash because my check engine light had been on for a week or so. Codes said I needed an o2 sensor replaced and from what I understand this isnt too involved of a process. But the same thing. Next morning my whole car is violently shaking when at idle like an earthquake. Took it to a nice place and they said the o2 wasnt cleaned properly before replacing and the sensor they replaced it with was a low quality autozone type part. Beyond that, the guys kinda a dick. I get that being a mechanic is hard and often thankless work but he seems annoyed off the jump that you even walked in the place. And when you describe what's going on it seems like he barely listens and then the first solution that instantly comes to mind he's convinced is the path forward. I have been coming to Mike Nash for over 2 years and can't imagine taking my car anywhere else. I drive a 1999 Lexus sedan and am wary of spending money on unnecessary repairs. Mike always explains exactly what is needed, how urgent it is, and how much it will cost. Last week, I went to Firestone for a tire rotation and an oil change. They told me that I had a massive oil leak and that I also needed an alignment. A few days later, I took my car to Mike and he confirmed that there was no oil leak and that an alignment was not necessary. An honest mechanic is rare. we've been getting our car fixed with Mike for how many years already and we really are grateful for the honest and great service he has provided. It's really great to have his shop near our area so its just a quick call to his shop and drop the car off for the maintenance it needs and pick it up once its ready. I just went in earlier since the car hasn't been turning on, and autozone told us that the battery is good so it might be the alternator that needs to be replaced and so we called Mike and got a quote for it, and when I came in to drop it off, he checked the car before replacing anything and turns out, the battery is bad and showed me when he did the battery test. He ruined my vehicle. I went back to him so we could replace my turbo for $600. I thought that was a great deal at first until he gave me back the vehicle and said it was done and when I drove off it was leaking oil all over the place for 15 mi and then another 15 miles coming back. He seemed like he was angry with me when I've been always nice to him. And after that my vehicle has been overheating ever since. He disconnected my cooling fan for my radiator On my work vehicle that I rely on for work and my livelihood. His worker was looking at me with angry face as if I did something bad to him. I found out that they know my ex and I believe what they did to my vehicle is hate crime. Hes always talking racism gossiping about someone. I know that's married to a Chinese woman. His mechanic broke the screw in the block of the motor and then disappeared. And Mike the owner took over. Mike is the one that put it back together leaking oil. They're supposed to be the mechanics for doing the job, that's there responsibility. I'm the customer, consumer and my responsibilities the pay him when he's done. When I paid him he asked me oh you're gonna pay me? I said of course I'm going to pay you, because you did the work right? Huge red flag. From my perspective and experience I see them as narcissistic conniving, Intentionally reckless and somewhat hostile. My eyes and ears do not lie to me. Whatever he did was not accidental it was purely intentional. So I will never go back to him or recommend anyone to him ever again. read more

My friend Clifton took me to his nice mechanic Mike. Had major issues with my hatchback door not opening... Due to my blue plastic tarp stuck onto the latch accidentally. He popped it opened with a screwdriver while my friend pressed the outer button. N voila in a split seconds I've become happy again . I thought I was out of freon, but couldn't get any in myself when I tried. I couldn't stand the summer heat anymore, so I took my car in to Mike. He was quickly able to discover the issue that my A/C belt had broken! Within an hour I was driving away, in the hot California summer, with a cool breeze flowing through my vents and into my hair. I knew I had to get my brakes and rotors replaced and called a few different places for quotes. When I called Nash's Auto, Mike answered and questioned who told me I needed rotors. Over the phone, Mike told me he would check if he could resurface my rotors to save me the money AND still quoted me less to completely replace them. When I visited the shop, him and his helper took a full look at my the rotors, double checked the measurements for resurfacing and gave me the pros and cons of resurfacing vs replacing. When I was there I also mentioned replacing my rear shocks (which I also knew needed to be done) and he quoted me HALF of what others had. He completed the work within a few hours on a Saturday without an appointment. When I arrived to pick up, he had all of the old parts and showed me them comparing the differences to the new ones. As a woman, I know that a lot of auto mechanics try and scam me out of things I don't need or over charge. Mike was straight with me from the moment I got on the phone with him. I recently purchased a 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible and had it shipped to me from Detroit. Prior to buying the car I had a complete inspection done and was told the car was in great condition. The next day I noticed a leak under the car. I took it to a mechanic close to my home. I waited for hours and never got the courtesy of call back. Finally I got an email saying the car needed a completely new transmission. When I went to pick the car up I asked are you sure? The mechanic said "I put on lift, it leak." no other explanation. My friend recommended I take the car to Mike for a second opinion. Mike was incredible. He took the time to investigate the leak and informed me it was a power steering control valve, the water pump and a fitting in the transmission. He told me the transmission didn't need to be replaced. Mike was highly professional, explained everything and did a fantastic job fixing my vehicle. My new car that I always take to the dealership (in Santa Monica and not a hop, skip and a jump from Echo Park) had an issue with the back closing when I was leaving the market. I found Mike's place through Yelp, honestly. I had gotten an estimate from Pacific BMW to replace my brake pads and rotors and it was just so freakin expensive. I brought the car to Mike. He got my X3 up on the lift and educated me about the brakes. He showed me how he calibrated the calipers to see if I needed new rotors and indeed, I needed them. His estimate came in about $400 less than Pacific BMW's. He was lovely, and friendly, and he got the work done within the timeline I laid out. Honestly, it was just so nice to have a mechanic who would explain it all to me. At the dealership, one tends to worry if they're taking you for a ride. I originally had him repair my A/C unit because it was blowing hot air and the local dealership was going to cost me 1,500.00 including labor. Nash did it the same day for about 250.00. Nash auto is the most efficient and honest place of business I have found in Los Angeles to date. My car started to make a funny clicking noise so brought it to a repair shop in my neighborhood where I was told I needed my timing belt, water pump, and a broken tension rod replaced totaling $702. I went home and called Nash and got Mike on the phone who gave me a lower quote $650 for the parts and labor I had been told I needed. He also seemed so much more knowledgeable over the phone that I decided to make the 20 min drive to his shop. When I got there he listened to what I had been told and then re-diagnosed the problem as a loose exhaust shield (they fixed it in 20 min, no charge). We both realized pretty quickly that the other shop had taken one look at me (a 30 year old woman) and tried to extort as much money as possible out of my minor problem. Thank goodness for that nagging gut feeling that they were being dishonest. The difference when I walked into Nash was night and day, I was welcomed and treated with respect and honesty. Nash auto service are very honest. I have a Kia Sedona 2005 and need to replace the Belt Tensioner and Idler Pulley. I have the parts and I ask the owner if they can change the parts, and he said yes and he gave me a reasonable price for their services and agreed to the price. And after 15mins it's all done and I ask for Oil Change and it took only 15mins for the total of 30mins. I'm happy with their service and I will not shop around anymore if I have a problem with my van. I highly recommend Nash Auto Service for all your problem with your car. Honesty is the best policy.
